In order for Seattle public poker scene to thrive, there needs to be a structure to grow a larger player pool. In order to do that, there will need to be higher limit games. It's pretty easy to understand that for those of us who actually live and play here.
And one more thing, just because you're such a moron, I should clarify:

Thinking (incorrectly, I admit) that there isnt some huge pool of whales avoiding casinos isnt "arguing against your suggestions". Like, obv true NL and more tables would be better. Who the **** said it wouldn't be?

I post a couple times a month in here, about poker. ****ing wild obsession, man.
It's really strange to ask me not to interact with him, which I have observed--Why would I want to keep provoking someone anyway?--and then complain about every time I post anyway. Can't make up his mind, I guess.

Yes there are absolutely a hardcore group of people that will play at whatever cardrooms are offered in the Seattle area. This number is shrinking though in my opinion for a number of reasons. The remaining venues are all really divey, and the $300 max bet definitely is off-putting to a lot of the crowd that Lionel was talking about. These people do exist and the way Seattle cardrooms are set up why would they want to go these kind of places when Vegas is just a 2.5 hour flight away? There absolutely are people that would play live poker in Seattle if the venues were top-notch or at least nicer and had true NLH and true PLO. This crowd goes to Vegas or elsewhere if they want to play real poker, or play in home games.

I used to grind Seattle poker super hard like 200 hours a month. It was more viable then with the $500 limits being offered by the tribal casinos and a way nicer experience. Even then it still was kinda like wiffleball compared to true NLH or true PLO. Money did fly though and good players cleaned up. Most of the dealers and floor were pretty competent and the venues were relatively nice. Everything has gone totally downhill since then.

I suppose Seattle poker is still viable but it was way better back in the day. The non-tribals getting $300 bets was the beginning of the end IMO.

Pie is getting smaller and smaller.

There used to be a stable of wild maniacs that would frequent the tribal rooms - now most of them wouldn't even bother sitting down. Who can blame them when the max bet is $300 and most are sitting with $200?

Without the infamous "artist," the PLO game would have been even worse. In fact...the game is pretty garbage now. The biggest action players are those who short buy $200 or even $100 and then build up their stacks before any meaningful pots can take place.

Ya...

It effectively sped up the closure of the tribals. So at the end of it, you have smaller games (slightly smaller spread) in way less nice venues. Both of those are bad for pros but also bad for getting action fish to come in. They want to play in nice casinos and for bigger stakes. That crowd for the most part doesn't want go to divey cardrooms for smaller games.

PALACE CASINO FOOD REVIEW

by ME

Out of nowhere, Palace Casino, located in the armpit of Lakewood, Washington has become the place to be seen for the oft-neglected limit O8 community.

After two or so years of nothing, the O/Os of Palace started an O8 promo October 1st, attracting former players like moths to flame.

Their menu is extensive, featuring casino classics and an extensive Vietnamese/Chinese menu. There are also a few American BBQ dishes.

GOOD:
Chicken fried steak breakfast. Competently prepared. Chicken better than Fortune

BAD:
Potstickers. Opted for fried, came out with a cracker like texture, as if they were done in a bad air fryer. Low quality premade

MEDIOCRE:
Bacon cheeseburger and steak fries. Low quality burger patty. Decent bacon, but they put thick azz cut raw onion slices

I saw some good looking dishes around, like Mongolian beef and salt pepper shrimp. The chinese and breakfast menus may be the safest bets.

Editor's note: Palace has active security patrolling the lot. One knocked on my vehicle after they saw me enter it after peering into it's rear window. Mercer Island it is not.

Silly rabbit. Caribbean has daily 4/8 O8 game with at least one table and often two tables.

Game is a time burner, but a lot of these guys think it can be beaten, which makes it more entertaining I suppose.

Never seen people as generous as a 4/8 O8 game, especially when you consider the % of actual win in which they tip per hand.

Ty for the tip, unfortunately I've come to the conclusion that limit O8 is for retired donkeys only.

Going to be visiting for ~a week. Best places for low stakes NLHE? Alternatively, should I be checking PokerAtlas or Bravo for Seattle?

Not sure I could imagine something more random in terms of game/stakes/time/place but Little Creek Casino now spreads 15-30 HORSE on Tuesdays at 10am.

I heard a random thing last weekend at the table: a dealer was telling another player that a rat had run out on the floor at the red dragon and darkman let his dog down and it killed the rat in the middle of the room?!? Lol that can't be true, can it? No clue when it supposedly happened, just random table chatter. Anybody else ever hear this?
