I'll be going to Muckleshoot on the 9th, 10th, and 11th of Sept for a series of tournaments. I live on the Eastside and if anyone wants to carpool, let me know.

Have you done any of these tournaments in the past? If so, how are they, and how are the cash games at the same time?

Played all three last year. They are good, especially the 1k (because of it's structure/strating stack). They are adding 50k to the series which adds huge value IMO. TBH I don't think we should be advocating much on 2p2, but the good news is I don't think there's a whole lot of 2p2'ers/good players from Seattle here so it may be harmless.

Cash games are better than average during the series. Especially if you are playing while others bust out and then sit, as they are usually already on tilt. That said, for me personally, I think it's still better to play the tournaments then maybe play cash, but can see an argument being made for just playing cash games instead.

To be completely honest, it doesn't really matter for me personally cause I can't win at any form, venue, or format of poker lately

Also, they are advertising the first one (the $300) as having an 8k starting stack. Just want to note that they did this last years as well but wound up making it a 10k stack because most complained and they advertised 10k in room and 8k online, so it may be 10k again.

The $500 is the same, and again the 1k is the best at 20k starting and 45 min rounds rather than 30.

PM me if you want to carpool. If you're a winning player I might even buy some of your action. gl

i won't have a car - so i'd rather not spend more than $20 on a taxi each way

Closest would be the hideaway in Shoreline, decent place but they don't run anything but 3-20 spread unless it's Friday night. Parkers too but I think they're going to be closed by then.

Thanks for the heads up Nofx, I might drive down from Mercer Island to play the $300 and maybe the $500 if I've got the minerals.

I just moved closer to Snoqualmie... does the Sno Casino typically have any big tournaments during the year?

No, the room is too small. I think on Sundays they have a $65 tourney with 6-8 tables but they dont have anything like muckleshoots or tulalip's bigger tourneys.

Today at the Muck:

As the dealer was counting down a deck today, one of the regular 3-5 spread players asked, "How many cards are in a deck?".

How do you suppose she counts her outs...uh...nevermind.

I'm gonna be downtown seattle for work on Sunday the 25th - Tuesday the 27th

I'm looking for the best place to play within a 45 min or so drive, any suggestions? I've been referred to tulalip, muckle, and sno but was looking for some more guidance around the following games.

My preference would be:
Omaha 8 up to 5/10
stud8 up to 5/10
PLO 2/5
NL holdem 1/3 or 2/5

Parkers and The Hideaway in Shoreline (Exit 175/176 on I-5) both have LO8 games. I dont think you're gonna be able to find a stud game within 45 minutes of downtown. I dont know of any except ive heard of some in totally random casinos in the middle of nowhere that might have it. PLO goes every Tuesday at snoqualmie and lately its been going on Thursday as well. It's 5/5 blinds, with a buyin of 600-2k.

Tulalip has 1/3 but the max buyin is only 200. All three of the big indian casinos have 2/5 (muckleshoot, tulalip, snoqualmie). I think the buyins for tulalips 3/5 are 200-500, 200-500 for muckleshoot and 100-300 for the 2/5 at sno and 300-500 for the 3/5 at sno which rarely runs. I'm not sure why there are 2 separate games at sno, i suspect it is to protect the fish since its a smaller room and has a smaller player base.

Justinzee,

Any particular preference of which place to play?

I like tulalip the best. Good dealers, good floor people, and a sizeable room. Plus I hear they are getting the bravo system sometime in December which should streamline things a bit. I like the muck too (bravo system is great) but its really dark and some of the staff there are jerks. A lot of the floor people and dealers seem to have an attitude.

Thanks.

I'll probably hit up the hideaway since i get in late on sunday for a few hours, then after that, i'll probably just go to tulalip for the remainder of the time i get to play.
