Re: Seattle

Played at Fortune for first time yesterday. Two 20-40 games with list. Uncomfortable to wear mask for extended time but good to see a lot of regulars. If the Native casinos are not going to reopen poker rooms it might be time for the state to allow more tables at non tribal rooms.

Are the tables 5 or 7 handed? I keep hearing different things.

Re: Seattle

Tables are seven handed. Plexiglass between players. Bar area closed. Check temp at door and they have masks if you don't have one.

Re: Seattle

Action was good. Played 1-3 for half hour. 8-16 for hour then 20-40 for six hours. At 8-16 I flop set of Jack's make full house on river opponent makes spades royal flush. I would have stayed later but had to help friend today. Two 20 40games running now. I didn't win last night but no complaints about amount of gamble going on.

how can everyone win when they pull so much from the table?

Re: Seattle

Looks from their website like fortune is limited to 10 tables and not running the full room? Is that right?

Re: Seattle

i assume you meant anyone win. yes its tough but if you stand out above the table it is easy to win. the closer you are to marginal the more often you lose. that is why game selection is the key if you can select and can tell which are good games. many cant differentiate or just sit and play and dont look for a better game. those that do have a hard time winning with the large rake.

Pardon Ray and his fillers.

Basically he thinks that if you are a crusher, which is defined by the ability to table select, you will continue to win regardless the rake.

Re: Seattle

It's a silly notion that rake doesn't matter, unless you're the casino owner or spokesperson for the casino.

I don't play online, so I wouldn't speculate there.

In live setting, $1 rake translates to ~$30/hr. Dividing that 9 ways = $3.33/hr per player.

If you can table select your way to win $3.33 more hourly, it would be silly that you weren't doing that before.

So if you are already table selecting and playing in the best table, how exactly can table select negates that additional rake?

The answer is that you can't.

Re: Seattle

Speaking of which, if rake structure remains the same for 7-handed game as it was for 9-handed, players are even deeper in the hole.

$4 max rake per hand = ~$120 an hour. $120 / 9 = $13.33.

Now it would be ~$17/hr.

One may even argue that fewer players = more hands and more action, which would increase the rake per player.

Losing players would literally be crushed by the weight of the rake and structure faster than ever before.

Re: Seattle

Don't know about y'all, but I purposely choose the toughest table.. And let me sit to immediate right of the best player on the table please. Until I get my ass handed to me for a couple BIs, that is.

(Obviously a bit joking, but since I'm not playing for a living it doesn't matter too much and I do enjoy the challenge, or even just watching/learning what the good players do even in the hands I'm not involved.)

Re: Seattle

It appears the waitlists at Fortune are already getting long. Can anyone tell me what you’re supposed to do while waiting? I heard the bar is closed so what you just sit in the corner distancing breathing all the dirty air? If you go out to your car you’ll miss your spot. That’s the main thing keeping me away as of now.

Re: Seattle

Interesting notion that sitting in a corner is bad when you are about to voluntarily sit within 2 feet of multiple people.

Re: Seattle

That’s not what I’m implying. Playing at least offers some value to the risk while sitting there waiting offers none.
