This forum masks curses with ****, so your rage is not being communicated well. You were better off hitting the 'cancel post' button.

It should take your brain a tenth of a second or less to process what the censored words are, does that actually obscure communication or the emotion being expressed? Does it really?

You might be ****ing stupid

Good lord, who cares about cursing

I wouldn't want to converse with either of you in real life, so you should have no worries as to the reading comprehension of people ITT.

Thanks for dropping in to the Seattle poker thread, your contribution will be noted.

I am surprised that people are still playing poker in seattle .. i fully expected the rooms to close last week .. but gambling is a hell of a drug.

i keep on checking the fortune website and expect to see somehing about covid on the page.. but not a peep ..

personally i stopped going about 3 weeks ago. -- and wont go back to a poker room until probably next fall.

young people continue to go as they figure that effects of it are not severe for them. which is likely true.

then they leave and maybe infect an elderly loved one who may die from it.

Fortune closed now at least until end of March. One table at Red Dragon currently.

It might affect them if they some kind of health care .. and they can't get that help because the health care system is overloaded with corona virus.

Majority of Americans do not go to hospital for any non-emergencies. Most people use OTC to self medicate. This has been the norm.

It should be no surprise that the idea of “riding it out” is a pretty common mindset.

It will be difficult to reverse such mindset in short timeframe.

with this and not having any remedies. all you can do is ride it out.
all the hospital can do is force fluids in you if you cant get them down yourself.

Exactly my point. It will be tough to convince some people into changing their behavior when the remedy and consequence are the same as any other virus.

Predictions on when it will be safe to play in Seattle again?

Safe is a relative term. Casinos will likely open as soon as state and local governments allow them to operate.

I was under the impression Tribals shut down on their own accord after Inslee's order to shut down restaurants, etc.

Few tribals did shut down but most of them across the country are still operating.

I was also referencing non-tribal casinos. They were only shut down because of mandate, not their own accord.

I complained with a similar matter to the management of Tulalip Poker (RIP). Their cut was in the 25% neighborhood (forget the exact percent). Monopoly power strangles poker in this State. In the Tulalip case they hold a Tribal monopoly on the Uber profitable slots. Goodbye poker. So wrong the Tribes will get the same monopoly with sports betting.

The whole Washington state gambling control system reeks of under the table payolah. $$$$$

California's "Shelter in place" order is expected to last 8 weeks. Washington will likely follow suit. The main Trump doctor guy (Faucchi, I think?) has said that we will likely need to practice social distancing for "many weeks."

Don't expect to be playing prior to May at the earliest.

Washington is ahead of California for weeks in testing and has been taking precautionary measures to minimize impact.

I don't think we will necessarily follow the same steps as CA.

Our population is also very centralized in the 3 main counties and residents seem to be following the suggested guidelines.

Inslee on Friday cited state traffic data as evidence that social distancing is happening in some parts of the state, although not as much as is needed, he said. Traffic is down 61% on the 99 tunnel through Seattle and it’s down 59% on the 520 bridge, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. But it’s only down 34% on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, and only 28% on State Route 167 in south King County.
For those who might be reading this thread but aren't living here, 99 tunnel and 520 bridge represent key crossing points in Seattle and its closest suburbs.

Tacoma is in Pierce county and a little more than 30 miles away from Seattle to the south. Route 167 connects traffic from south King county to Pierce.

In other words, a big chunk of residents in the heart of King county, which has 2 of the top 5 most populated cities in WA, are mostly observing the recommendation, less so outside of King.

But it does seem that the trend could change and a lot of people seem to be asking for more drastic measures.
