Known angle shooter got away with working his angle the other night in Big O. (Curious if anyone here was there.) I pointed out a pitched card that he wanted to keep. So he did his thing: "Oh yeah? What was it? What was it?" I resisted saying anything about it but finally gave in. Hopefully everyone is aware, in this case it doesn't matter; it's impossible for me to angle here unless I see a bad card and don't point it out.
Dealer calls the floor. Known Angle Shooter continues the commotion: "He said it was a black spot card but it was the 2
! He's just trying to take away my deuce!" Which to reiterate is stupid. I saw that it was a 2 or 3 regardless of color, but it doesn't matter if I said it was the king
. (If I knew it was a deuce and wanted him to deprive him of it, then that validates that the card did indeed flash. If I'm lying and it didn't flash, it's just a random card, as likely to be a 9 as a 2 or A.)
Anyway in the commotion he got what he wanted. Floor misunderstood, thought he had fumbled his own card. Needless to say there's no way in hell that same player would have acted that way if I'd seen a nine. I racked up after one hand, ldo. I should get less upset, play it cool, rack up quietly and discuss away from the table. Sorry. Cheating, even minor angling, really really upsets me.
I hold no grudge against the dealer or the floor. I'm assured it's a training issue they'll work out and I believe them. But watch out for those angles out there.
