Re: Seattle

Anyone figure out what happened to Hideaway? I’m from Seattle but moved away. Used to play at Hideaway a fair bit. The owner was nice, but it wouldn’t surprised me if she was pulling some shady ****.

Re: Seattle

Their website shows up as “under repair” and they don’t answer when you call their number. Something certainly is up

Re: Seattle

Poker scene in Seattle is under restructuring with new rooms dedicated to poker: Red Dragon up north, Fortune down south, and Palace way down south.

Because of these changes, a lot of smaller rooms or casinos with poker are slowly making adjustments.

Irony is that owner of Hideaway is the one that requested for the increase of maximum bet in non-tribal from $100 to $300 and also to remove the cap on rakes, and she ends up being the first one to suffer the consequence of the shifting of paradigm in Seattle poker scene.

Interesting topic.

Competition improves product quality. With poker, the tribals benefited from a monopoly on higher value poker games which has pretty much disappeared. Faced with competition, the Tulalip and Muck are not keeping pace and are losing their players to the more aggressive poker providers. Former monopolies seldom prosper when forced to compete. My opinion is poker will soon be "off the table" at the Tulalip and the Muck. The tribals will stick to what they know... a monopoly which is the ever so profitable slot business.

Fortune has the winning poker model. To be profitable, offer maximum capacity allowed by the law, provide a fun (clean, comfortable and "electronic") environment, subsidize great food, and be responsive to their customers. And off course heavily promote PSJs. (I'd rather the PSJs went away but this is not going to happen.)

Right now the north is wide-open to a Tulalip competitor. IMO the Red Dragon is too seedy and bush-league to compete.

Re: Seattle

Palace has undergone a very solid Fortune impression and if I lived equidistance from both I would still basically never go to Fortune.

The changes have made me a 1x/week Fortune player (and feeling like I should be pushing myself to go more) into a 0x in 2018 Fortune player (and being fine with it).

Re: Seattle

Two reasons to play in Palace:

1. Live close to Palace
2. Play limit hold'em

Lol what?

My extent of playing there was September through October 2014, my recollections are of a very plain 50 year old.

Re: Seattle

Muckleshoot has the best Omaha8 game $10-20.
Snoqualmie has a disappointing card room but it is a beautiful casino.
May have Omaha8 at the casino North of Marysville.
Tulalip has Omaha on Sunday.
Seattle players are made of money and luck, be careful!!!!

Re: Seattle

$300 and $1,000 buy ins respectively. 3+3 rake. You'd almost certainly find multiple NL games going Thursday at midnight.

FWIW, it is literally right in the middle of the Fortune Poker landing page.

Sorry but none of the questions asked are displayed anywhere...
All we can see is how many games are currently running, the high hand promo, and the tournament / promo calendar.

Re: Seattle

Really, none?

The rake is the same as any other Washington poker room, 3+3.

Re: Seattle

OK, my bad for this, I may be blind. But still no mention of max for 1/3 and rake.
I'm not from Washington, sorry if I don't know the standard rake, neither what 3+3 means.
Thanks anyway to the one person who answered nicely.

Just ignore the toxicity. Theres plenty of us here that are happy to help. Dont let it stop you from asking whatever you need. Im happy to help improve and add players to Seattle's poker scene in any way I can. GL out there. Fortune is the best room around by a wide margin imo. Park behind the hotel (beside fortune) if the lot is full, you wont get towed.

Re: Seattle

I wasn’t trying to be rude, just pointing out that it is right on the front page.

As for rake and jackpot drop, it’s about the same in all of WA rooms and better than most rooms across the country. That question in itself seems to have low value given that I don’t think it would affect anyone’s choice whether to play.
