Is the Red Dragon worse than the Hideaway? IMO YES.

How much do the top local regs make? Mainly wondering about guys you see in fortune or similar places all the time -

50k? 150k?

How many regs don’t even win and are just addicted / like playing ?

I don't know of any games big enough or soft enough to make that kind of change. If anyone knows of those big soft games let me know

games dont have to be too big, just very beatable to make 200 a day. and a place with players doing buyins of 500 easily can get to the top number.

On the weekend and certain nights of the week, sure, several places around Seattle available, but those rooms are often filled with the same players with similar objective and have experiences as winning player.

Even if above scenario is optimal, there is still very limited number of hours in a week/month/year for those games.

Nothing is impossible, but it is certainly not easy. And if you are just asking the question now, you probably will never be able to do it.

FWIW, Fortune and other smaller rooms spreading smaller NL games is cutting into the bottomline of winning players who aren't playing the big PLO or similarly big games.

How would the local poker scene change if the State were to increase the maximum single bet limit for all casinos to $1K? And same question if true no-limit were allowed?

3/5 runs 6 days a week at Tulalip with a $1000 max buy. 5/10NLHE on Mondays at Sno, 5-5PLO on Tuesdays at Sno. 5-5PLO Thursday-Sunday, 5-10-25PLO Thursday-Sunday at Tulalip.

Games are there.

My experience is that the most profitable games are home or underground games.

In the cardroom environment with a rake, I would say only about 30 - 40% of the players are able to sustain a profitable return, and I estimate only 10% can maintain a 4 Big Bet /100 winrate.

So take the 20/40 limit game at Fortune. I would assume it takes about 2 hours to see 100 hands which would be $80/hour, or about 1,250 hours to make $100K. Therefore I find the very top player at that game might be able to make $200K/year.

3/5 may run some time during the day, but it is mostly a night game, meaning it doesn't run until players get off work at night. It is not currently running Wednesday at 1:38pm and I can't imagine it running on most Monday and Tuesdays around this time.

So you may get what, 1 or 2 games for about 5 hours during 3 of 5 weekdays? Hours are limited and are there enough people dumping money to sustain 10bb+/hr win rate?

Remaining sheep get shear little bit more?

I don't see how that would change the game at this point.

Single biggest event to Seattle poker scene in the last 5 years is the rule change to allow max bet from non-tribal from $100 to $300. However, what it does so far is basically remapping the poker landscape, not bringing in new players.

Look around you, do you see more new faces or fewer old faces in poker room?

I'm trying to imagine a world where 40% of poker players were winning in the long run.

If you plan on hitting the Muck casino floor, wear a face mask.

Was there for comedy night yesterday, and can pinpoint the exact moment someone gave me a sore throat.

Actually agree. I originally was thinking it's about a 1/3 but thought I should widen range.

I'm happy to report the Fortune Reuben is back to it's former top quality. There are two versions, one with sauerkraut and one with red cabbage.

Speaking of making a living, I'm looking for a new gig. Thinking about getting into a trade, or can use recommendations as what's good to seek training for.

I thought we were assuming folks playing for a living, not playing 40 hours a week on top of a full work week.

My bad.

Nothing I said had implied that a full time player is someone who plays poker after a full work week.

I did assume that there isn't enough games running in Tulalip on a weekday basis to support a pro who needs more hours.

Refugees from the Hideaway have shown up at Fortune. Seem to be behaving so far.

Tuesday Report: 12 tables at Fortune, 3 at the Muck. Their indecipherable promo board doesn't help.

In the past one could learn easily find out answers to the Hideaway question on the Washington State Gambling Commission web site https://www.wsgc.wa.gov/ The Diamond Lils embezzlement of PSJ for example was there for all the see.

No more. The decisions, fines, and deliberations of the Washington State Gambling Commission are not made public anymore. Hope to be wrong on this but I have done lots of searching. (Please prove me wrong.)

So much for transparent and open Washington State government.
