Mike Caro is right. "The table with the most laughter is almost always the better game. That’s because laughter indicates that players are having a good time and not taking poker seriously."

Listening to bragging about poker prowess or about being a poker pro is boring. This describes the table talk norm at the Hideaway. There the table talk is usually about poker hands, boring wins, equally boring bad beats and about their ability to beat all-comers. I for one hate hearing most poker stories at the poker table. Boring. Not fun. Give me laughter!

Yes this is why headsets were invented.

So there was a post in another threading saying the brass at Lil's has told staff to start looking for other jobs as they are not planning on renewing their license. Feels like B.S. but still curious if anyone else knows anything?

Has 5/5 PLO at Snoqualmie become a steady thing on Tuesdays? What is the expected start time and how late does it usually go? Is it often full with a list or usually easy to get a seat? Thanks in advance for any info

I've been out there the last 2 Tuesday's are there wasn't even a whiff of it getting going.

There is a rumor that management might try 5/5 PLO on Wednesday after New Year.

Again, another rumor said that a sign has been posted on the front door that Lil is shutting its current location down.

Speculation is that land lease might be up and there's a new casino under construction near by (yet another rumor).

People talk and talk at the table, but I have no idea how accurate these talks are. I don't play in south end at all.

Repost from post I made in Mid-limit holdem concerning Diamond Lils closing:

It's true. Spoke to a knowledgeable floorman yesterday about it. Lils was leasing a fair amount of parking spaces from adjoining Fred Meyer for years. Fred Meyer has chosen not to renew the lease. As such, the owners are choosing to close Lils (they would be left with around 40 parking spots, not near enough).

The flyer put out said the owners would give 60 day notice as to when the final day of operating was. Floorman believed that it would be sometime in March.

All poker room personnel are being encouraged to apply to a new casino opening up in the old Treasure Casino location that is 2 miles south (Just off 167 on E Valley Hwy). It is not the same owners, but the thought is that all the games will move there.

Sad end for a place that has been open for long. Who knows though, things can change. I hope Lils finds a way to stay open.

How many tables do they have? I only went there once but it didn't seem that big, seems like 40 spaces would be almost enough, and maybe there were other nearby places to park. Seems like a very odd reason to close.

They have 11 tables, and while they are almost never all in use, on a typical night there are 5-8 games going. With 10 people at each table, plus players waiting to be seated, floors, extra dealers, servers, cooks, etc. they'd need way more than 40 parking spots. Although as you say there are nearby spots that can be used.

It does seem like a strange reason to close a room. There may well be more to the decision than that. I didn't spot anything on the Gambling Commission website at least.

Parking is a nightmare there and I'm not sure how they could work around it even though it sounds like a trivial problem. Even now every single time I'm there some floor guy comes through yelling about a certain car that's double parked and needs to move.

Agreed, it is a nightmare but I'd imagine if you gave the Lil's players two options:
  1. Park further away in the Fred Meyer lot and walk an extra 30 seconds
  2. Lil's closes
They would choose 1 and it's not even close.

I'm definitely bummed because this is literally the only 20/40 within a hundred miles and one of only two regular 8/16 games between Seattle and Tacoma. My experience with Parker's tells me if the games "move" they will be weakened and have a really good chance of dying completely.

What makes you think FM would be ok w that? If they won't agree to give up parking for pay then they ain't giving it up for free either.

Plan seems to be, move the games, players and some of? a bunch of?
most of? the dealers, from Lil's to the new place a mile or two south.

Maybe close the doors at Lil's the day before the grand opening.

Sounds like it's gonna be a nice room. 15 tables. Lots of parking.

You're not wrong. At first I thought it could work since FM would have to mobilize enforcement, etc. which would cost some money and they might not bother. But after I thought about it more I realized the strategy of having players stash their cars all over isn't really a sustainable long-term solution. Still don't have a good idea though.

Well, if it works, great. I still have some misgivings but who knows?

Perhaps the Muck will spread a large similar to 20/40 limit game again?
Seems a natural spread for Snoqualmie.

Thanks again for the info about 5/5 PLO at Snoqualmie. Sorry to hear it hasn't been running.

Is 5/5 BIG O a regular thing at Muckleshoot? Friday and Saturday nights? Do they ever spread PLO as well?

Also, I see 5/5 PLO runs sometimes at Tulalip. Are there certain times/days of the week when it's likely to get going?

One 5/5 PLO table ran both Friday and Saturday nights the past two weekends at the Tulalip. Interestingly, the 5/10/25 PLO game broke quite early this Saturday night at the Tulalip.

Believe it or not there was a point in time Muck regularly had 100-200 LHE and Snoq had 25-50 HORSE. So anything is possible.

This is a big game. How did the maximum re-raise work within the confines of our State's maximum wager of $500?

Wasn't an issue. If you bet or raise turn or river it would be in increments of $200. So no problem.

Wizards Casino in Burien spreads a great 2/20 limit game every day. Bet any amount from $2-$20. The main game was pretty crazy, some people play with overs making the game 2/40.

They have some great high hand promotions, basically the best in the region from what I can tell. Beat the muckeshoots for sure, who dont offer HH promos during prime time.

- Sundays $250 HH every 1/2 hour 4pm-midnight. Flush qualifies (i won one of these last weekend)
- Wednesday $400 + $200/hr high hands 6-midnight. Flush or better, two people get paid
- Thur, Fri, Saiturday 6pm-2am HH, Aces full qualifier. Payout is based on # of tables: 1/2/3/4 = $200/$300/$499/$600. 3 tables going on Saturday, a couple of people made HH.

Rest of the time they have a monte carlo board. Seems like a new promo - All quads plus str8 flushes plus royals are at $120 each, which go up erry day capped at $1500 a square.

Also $9 food comp. Food is fine, maybe a little bit lower than the Muck in terms of overall quality. But hey the muck only offers 1/2 off

That's great info, thanks. I like those lower range spread games, $20 or $40 cap, and living South of Seattle I certainly don't often feel like driving to the Hideaway.

So if I show up any day between noon and midnight I can expect at least 1 2-20 game?

Was anybody at Tulalip last night? I was going to head up there so I checked Bravo, all 12 tables going with 54 names on the 1/3 list, 25 on the 3/5, 10 people on a 1/3 crazy pineapple? I figured there was no point in going up there after seeing that.

Was it really that busy?
