Wizards is in Burien. I haven't been in there in maybe almost two years. When I was going in there on the semi-regular, their evening tourneys were pretty small, one or two tables, and sometimes didn't go at all. At that time they had a midnight tourney that occasionally would get like four tables on special nights (I think I remember once a month they had a customer appreciation night where they would give away cash randomly.) For cash they had 2/20 spread hold'em.

Hideaway tourney I think is more reliable but I've never played it so can't comment on structure, field, etc. I think the buy-in is higher than Wizards; I don't remember about how they match up as far as fraction of juice. Hideaway has more cash variety, usually 3/20 spread limit hold'em and an O8 game. Certain nights have special games but I don't know the details on those.

Maybe you're joking but the extra "rake" is actually a Player Supported Jackpot drop, which by law is required to be returned to players, minus an up to 10% administration fee.

I suppose it's possible that 10% is being used for chairs though, who knows?

(And no, I don't have any relationship with Lil's other than being a semi-reg there.)

Yeah, I was joking...but I do have a very negative opinion about any promotional drops, especially ones that maybe only pay back 90%...or 0% to me, since I never get any of it...

They are fairly soft, with the obvious couple of regs who are decent. Softest is Tuesday night 6/12 for obvious reasons, but 15/30 is still profitable.

Can anyone comment on the 20 game at lil? Seems there has been 2 games running with 5+ on the list pretty often according to the app. Knowing how floors work not sure if this is true or if the games are even worth the drive.

Anyone played lately?

I've played a couple of short sessions in the Lil's 20 in the past month. I don't understand "Knowing how floors work" but depending on day/time it's 100% believable that they had two games with five on the list.

Conventional wisdom around another room I play is that this game is tough and/or rife with collusion. To the contrary, I find that it has its moments and sometimes is quite good (~4 to the flop, much cold calling, some open limping made more justifiable by the other loose play).

The trick is to time it to maximize time in the main game and minimize time in the feeder[s]. If I were 6th or 7th on the list for a new game, and the new game turned out to be a dud, I would probably go play something else. Obviously the best is to find a time you can walk right into the main game; I'll leave that for you to work out.

If people are colluding, they're very bad at it. In reality, I suspect the folks (Hideaway regs) convinced there's so much collusion at Lil's are confusing wonton aggression with collusion. Often in the Lil's 20 two regs will get in raising wars just to be cheeky. That's not collusion and it's easy to beat (although waiting for good hands is boring).

I'm probably encouraging you to make the game tougher at the times I play, so I hope you appreciate it.

"How floors work" is leaving a list in the computer so that a onlooker would think they are busier than they are. Tons of floors in the Seattle area have done this since 06. Call a room and ask how many games or seats are available. You would be surprised what you are told vs whats actually going on.

The 20 game does have quite a bit of collusion. It always has. There is a reason why the parkers regs got murdered during the month they ran 20, it only took 2 lils players...

I have played at lil's over the last 8 years occasionally and living up north its a drive.

I mean theres 3 games going now... there is at least one amazing game right now, just wondering if anyone is there and can comment.

I played in the 20 game just one evening a year and a half ago. I don't really think there was collusion, but there was some stuff that some people would not like. It was almost "anti-collusion": one players seeming to always reraise another player, probably because he didn't like the other guy, or that guy gave him a bad beat, etc.

Back in 2011 I played 20/40 there twice. First time I lost 1k without dragging a chip. Second time I lost 1k with the only chips dragged being a heads up chopped pot.

I'm sure that left a bad taste in my mouth for the game, but I felt very uncomfortable in that game. Nothing specific that I could point to as collusion, but I haven't played the game since.

zac2bets, since you have knowledge about this game and believe that knowledge to be current, I don't understand the purpose of your question.

For the LOL Lil's file...

I show up last night to get some dinner and try to bink a high hand, when who should I see at my table but the "puncher" from my post of a few weeks ago. Looks like punching a guy in a wheelchair gets you at most a 20-day vacation.

On my way out the door later, I hear "FLOOR!" from one of the female dealers. She reports that a player has thrown cards for the second time. Result? 30 minute timeout.

Seems like the floors in that place are kind of a joke. I wouldn't be surprised if the atmosphere scares away casual players. I guess it doesn't matter cause the degenerate scum regs will come regardless...

I might as well give my two cents on the Lil's 20/40 while I'm here.

(First about the games more generally, the app/website in my experience is accurate as far as number of games. Not so much for the waitlists. They don't have a "live" system like Bravo, so it must be manually updated. I heard the floors are supposed to do that every 15 minutes but sometimes they are too busy and/or lazy to do it.)

On the 20 specifically, as long as I've been playing poker in this area there have been accusations of collusion. I've played the game probably a few hundred hours but can't say if there is or if there isn't. It's definitely a reg-fest. And pretty aggro compared to the 8/16. And there is too much non-English allowed at the table. But I haven't seen any concrete examples of collusion.

As far as the quality of the game goes, I think it depends highly on the lineup on a given day. I'm not that great so there are days where if I were in the game it would be with 1 or 2 better players, a few that are about as good as me, and a few that were a little worse. Probably not worth my time. But on other days an action player or two can really open up the game, drinks flow, and some of the regs lose their minds. That game will be really good.

And for what it's worth, there have been some new faces recently and some 8/16 players that have moved up/are taking shots. I've been playing 8/16 (moved down after my roll took a beating) but have been eyeing the 20 recently. Have stayed put at least partly because some of the regs are such world class dirtbags that I just don't want to put up with it.

Currently 8 3/5 "NL"s and 13 4/8 games going at Muck. Amazing what a Super Sunday will do. I can't believe there's that many 3/5 players in the state

$25-$50 mix OE at Muck every Friday finally going regularly. Starting around 830 going until 6am or so.

Plays with $50-$100 kill (any O8 scoop on flop and any Stud 8 scoop on 4th+)

Yikes, if you raise preflop, play a hand headsup against the BB and he folds after the flop, you have to post a $50 kill out of your ~$60 profit for the hand?

And why would you add a kill to Stud/8?? Just to stay consistent w Omaha? Seems ridiculous.
