Ive never played in a room with high hand promotion before.

In fortune for example, how does this promotion work? What constitutes a "high hand"?

The highest Hold ‘em hand shown during the 30 minute period gets the designated cash prize for that time period. Both hole cards must play. High hands cannot be tied, i.e. if HH is aces full of kings and a few minutes later you catch aces full of kings, your hand is no good for HH promotion. HH are not shared. Royal flushes are different, perhaps depending on where you are playing. If two people hit royals in the same time period, I think at RD both are paid full amount, but could be wrong. I would guess it’s the same at Fortune. Again, prizes are never shared.

*Correction: If at the same table two players chop a pot with identical full houses, they do share the HH, I believe. But that is quite rare.

A notable difference between RD and Fortune is that RD allows rabbit hunting after the flop or turn if you’ve hit a set or straight flush draw. So if you have one of those hands and everyone folds to your post flop bet, you need to turn your hand over and ask the dealer to rabbit hunt for a high hand.

That is the basic mechanics. Beyond that, action can proceed very differently based on HH promotion. A lot more limping and check-calling to the river, from some players who only play for HH. Also you will see when the table folds to the blinds, the blinds might forgo chopping in order to passively fish for a HH.

But that is all conversation, because there aren’t any games running now.

Is that a question by itself? Read some polls maybe?

Simply put, if your hand is better than the hand shown on TV, show it and don’t muck it.

Once it’s on the TV, you don’t have to do anything else.

Seattle rooms don’t scam you or work with the regs to screw you over HH.

I didn’t get it and was thinking about it all day yesterday but then got high and I think he’s saying Seattle poker is THE PACKAGE and the players are the thinly sliced steak. the package is meant to represent the outdoor gaming idea, which is doing a poor job of keeping “the meat” fresh ie safe from COVID. Note much of meat is missing, representing drop in turnout at casinos. The artist leaves what has eaten us to our imaginations.

It is 3:50pm and already 4 of 7 (?) Tables are full, 7-handed. Two 1-3 NL, and two PLO. One on the NL list, several on PLO.

If I remember correctly, it was 5-handed without mitigating devices. RD is now running 7 tables, 7 handed with lists about 6 deep. Weather is beautiful, for now.

Anyone have any pictures of these outdoor casino setups? Are they fine to play at? Any issues with cards blowing around?

On Monday RD closed just before 8pm due to plumbing problems. Yesterday they closed at 930 due to “noise”/not having their 24 hour permit approved yet. Don’t wanna disturb the addicts and prostitutes.
