They have 3-20 spread played with white chips and 1/3 played with red chips.

If you have bad eye sight and need to be in seat 5. Tell the floor when requesting your seat. They should be able to help you out if possible.

1. for points 1 and 6. do you specifically mean at the red dragon casino there is a screen that shows the complimentary offered? no, that was a typo. i meant see #5

2. The reason why i want to know is because i dont want the smallest possibility of losing the chance at winning a game promotion due to ignorance. even if its 0000.1%
i don't know all the rules either. just show your hand if you think you might have a high hand.

6. same with part 1. I dont see the list in the gameroom. and i realize its listed on the website, but my main concern is knowing which tables are which (specifically spread vs NL) so that when looking at games i can know what game im spectating.
there should be a list on the big screen. NL cash games don't exist here.

That is technically correct. Washington law only allows a $300 max bet in non tribal rooms. So the big NL games are actually 3-300 or 5-300 spread limit.

But for lower stakes players they play close to NL. (not very many $300 bets)

Just poking my head back in here to see what's up with the Hideaway. It was clear to everyone that the player volume just wasn't enough to support it as a thriving business (at least not for a REALLY long time), only as a sort of charity/labor of love. But I thought this iteration was actually a labor of love. Everything has its limits so if it just wasn't financially viable even beyond an acceptable level of money-losing then so be it, but I really had hoped it would hang around longer.

Does anyone have any explicit information on how the Red Dragon Casino is on Highway 99?

I came across a post on reddit where someone says

Quote:
Certainly, I'd be glad to elaborate. When the dragon first opened, I played there quite often because the promotions were really good and it was exciting to have a new room in the area. However, Midway through 2018 the room really started to fall off in a lot of ways:

Dealer Quality. The dealers had no control over the games being run, and I frequently saw other players chastise or berate other people the table.

Poor Management. Floor rulings are not consistent and players are not protected from angle shots. Additionally, multiple times I've seen players rathole money or add money to their stack above the table cap with the dealer not saying anything.

The Food Is Terrible. The food quality was very poor when the room opened, and continues to be disappointing. Seriously, how hard is it to make standard American fare and hire a good Asian Chef in this area?

Zero Security. Because the Red Dragon is only a poker room and not a casino, they are not required by Washington state law to have on-site security. Back in June of 2018, I played session until about 1 in the morning on a Saturday night. When I arrived at the room, the main parking lot was full so I had to park in the overflow lot down the block. When walking back to my car, I noticed that two men followed me out of the parking lot and we're walking behind me down the sidewalk towards the parking overflow lot. They were whispering to each other and acting suspicious. When I stopped walking they also stopped walking. They followed me into the dimly-lit parking lot and I proceeded to pull out my phone to pretend I was making a phone call. They both backed off and kept walking once they saw that I had my phone in my hand. I reported this incident to the red dragon management, but they did not seem all that concerned since no theft had occurred. Disappointing to say the least.

The games at the Red Dragon are usually good action, and the promotions are decent, but for recreational players like myself there are much better experiences to be had elsewhere.

All close to truth, but it's like that almost everywhere.

Yes seems about right. Esp the door and security if you end up in the overflow lot

Not a reason to not play tho if you are in the area and interested. They still get 10+ tables running regularly

Are there any good tournament series to be on the lookout for? I just went to PowWow at Tulalip but curious on others throughout the year.

Also are there any casinos that disallow the button straddle?

Not a lot to choose from in Seattle area:

Jan: PowWow at Tulalip
Spring: Muckleshoot
Fall: Muckleshoot

WildHorse in Pendleton OR runs in April, June/July and November.

Chinook Winds in Lincoln City OR Feb and October.

It has been a few years but looking to head back to the casinos for some spread limit. I used to play regularly at the muckleshoots 3/5. Then got married and had kids! Anyone know anything about the palace in lakewood? Looks like they have a 1/3 on weekends? How is that game? How is the mucks now? Back when I played i often got stuck with a tight table, it took some aggressive moves and a wide range to walk away a winner. What's new there? I live south of muckleshoot and east of the palace. The north games sound like there's action but that's a drive for me. Does the mucks still get saturday night casuals? The palace? Can someone give me a feel of the games?

Spend an extra 15 minutes in the car and go to Fortune.

Palace has 15/30 LHE on Fridays and Saturdays at 4 PM. 1/3/5 PLO with $1k Max buy on Wednesdays at 6 PM. 8/16 LHE runs every day.

They have a 1/3 spread game on Saturdays but it seems like it is drying up. I don’t think it goes every week. I would much rather play 15/30 LHE than 1/3 spread.

Action at Palace is insane. It’s like a time warp to 2007 or so. The PLO game has gotten a bit tougher but there are times when there are 5+ players with literally no clue what they are doing.

Played at Fortune last week for the first time in over a year and saw the rake was up from $3+3 to $4+3. Is that the standard at its competitors (Muck, Red Dragon, Palace) now as well?

How the hell does fortune afford to do all their high hand promotions? Is the +3 pretty much all towards these promos? $500/15 mins is pretty sick.

i played at fortune on satruday, $7/hand is ridiculous, and i couldnt care less about the high hand bs.

does tulalip do this crap too?

It’s $4 to promo and $3 to rake and, yes, Palace does it too. Not sure about Muck. The only cash game I play there is $20/$40 O8 and they only take a rake in that game.

You should care about the promos because they bring all the recs in. I assume most ppl that post here are trying to make money playing poker and promos that populate the games with recs help you make money. In the long run, someone that plays a lot of hours will get a decent ROI on the promo drop. Last year I made $8100 in High Hands and Jackpots. The year before that I made $9100. The year before that I made $5400.

Obviously, I don’t want the promo drop to keep going up (it will), but it’s not nearly as bad as a rake increase.

Are the NL tables also paying $4 into the promotions at fortune? Seems like the 4/8 and 8/16 LHE tables will have a much greater chance of hitting these short term high hands than the 1/3 "NL" tables, where its harder to play hands to the flop/turn/river, and at least a few less hands dealt per hour.

4 + 3 I believe.

In fortune news, there's a brand new pallet to cross the ditch with. Wonder how long it'll take to decompose - 3 months?

I will not be trying it. The paradigm shift in such matters over the last 20 years is kinda funny. I would go out of my way to run through that creek, pallet or no pallet. Now, falling down in the water/mud seems terrible.
