Apparently the notorious non-decaying nature of McDonald's hamburgers are matched by any similar-sized burger:

https://aht.seriouseats.com/2010/11/...g-results.html

so I guess that's no longer an argument one way or the other.

Great link.

The bottom line from this account is McDonald's burgers behave like other burgers when it comes to rot and decay. No difference between them.

As for me - Dick's burgers and shakes rock. Fries are meh.

Not to hijack this conversation away from Dick's vs McDonald's,

(to which the obvious answer is In-n-out > Shake Shack > Dick's > Wendy's > A punch in the face > McDonald's)

but Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen are hosting a Meet Up Game at the Hideaway on 9/7.

Details at https://www.facebook.com/PokerMUGs/

Should be fun.

Omg that's hilarious. After seeing that dump and the surrounding 145th and Aurora they'll never return here again.

That's actually pretty shocking the more I think about it. Not just because of the venue but I didn't know they'd even play that low. Every time time I've been to the Westgate it's been 2-5. I wonder if they even know about the $300 max bet. Maybe I'll be hospitable and offer to drive them 2hrs north to play in the best 5-10 game anywhere on the west coast.

On the MUGs FB it said if interested in having a meetup have the poker room manager contact them. I doubt they seeked out the hideaway as their venue of choice. Ive never played there so I cant speak for the room, but I may check out the meetup game, so from a free marketing perspective I guess it's working.

I went there for the first time ever and met the owner and that place is actually really nice after the re-open and they got a really cool staff so far from who I met. The owner was so cool - she let us run a complete mixed game based off any game they were certified for on the fly.

I believe they remodeled, it looks great inside. Sketchy outside.

The post above reminds me i need to amend the Daily Tournament Power Rankings. Redbirds Hideaway is now waaay above Red Dragon. Redbirds has the most amazing structure for a daily turbo that you’ll ever find. Plus the new chairs are absolute money. Red Dragon on the other hand is a comedy of errors in terms of utter incompetence. At this point Carribean, Fortune, and Hideaway are so far and away superior to Muck, Tulalip, and Dragon, in regards to “dailies” they don’t even belong in the same discussion.

haha, the chairs were the first thing I commented on! They're great!

I wish the Dragon would do one good 100$ daily tournament instead of two ****ty 45$ ones. It would be the same amount of money and tournament dealing time. No difference to them. They could have great weekly and monthlies too, plenty of tables.

The hideaway has always been the only place with good turbo tourneys.

Is the big PLO game that used to run at Tulalip dead or did it move someplace else?

Don’t care for McDonalds or dicks.

Visiting Seattle next week. What are some of the best cardrooms? I like to play NLH as well as PLO. Suggestions please

Any nightly tourneys?

Fortune is south of Seattle. It's probably the favored room for most of us here.

Tulalip is north of Seattle.

Im not sure about nightly tourneys. But Im sure some of the smaller rooms in the seattle area offer at least something.

Another room to consider is Red Dragon.

For any out-of-towner, Fortune Poker is your best option IMO. The only Fortune downside is the $300 maximum bet set by the State. The tribal poker max bet is $500, found at the Muckleshoot and Tulalip rooms. Otherwise Fortune is superior in food, ambiance, options with games-spread, comfort and usually in "gamble-gamble".

This is particularly true because so many out-of-towners will arrive via SeaTac. I love Fortune and would play there a ton if I were on the south end. With Seattle traffic getting worse by the week I'd say location is a determinative factor for many if not most of us.

Sorry should have been more exact. I’ll be in Bellevue. What’s in a reasonable Uber distance?

Bellevue is about even distance between Fortune and the Carribean. Fortune is the bigger and better room and superior for the NLHE and PLO, and I say this as someone who actually likes the Cab.

I wish there was a place where people wanted to play NL without paying $3 a hand to hopefully make the highest boat in a given time frame.

Quick Olympic Mountains poker scouting report. Saturday night, heading home from camping.

Sequim 7 Cedars Casino: One pathetic 2/10 table in the pit. Was surprised to see that. Bunch of crusty locals. One person on the list. Casino itself was nice, like a mini Tulalip in terms of quality of the establishment. I'd call it a midsized good tribal, with excellent theming around the resort.

Also had a cringey m/f guitar pair doing covers in a folky way. No thanks

Elwha Casino: No poker. Smallest casino I've ever seen. Stay away, not worth the drive.

Clearwater: Two pathetic 2/10 games, one shorthanded. Poker room nice. Casino excellent, free freestyle coke machines available, club had great sound with a talented cover band playing. Full craps tables, not smokey, great entertainment schedule. Feels like a newer Tulalip.

Slops: Damn the ferry is expensive, $18 and change.

I'm looking forward to grabbing some spicy Fortune Ramen later tonight!

Random observations:

In Port Angeles, gas machine did not ask for zip when using credit. Weed store didn't bother asking for ID. In Seattle you'd have to show it once or twice.

Non-tribal has a $300 max bet and tribal has $500 max bet (even BJ, Roulette, etc.) Playing online poker is a felony in WA State. Sorry mate, none of us are particularly thrilled about it. We've found a way to live with it. There's no true NL here, but lower limit games come prett th close unless deepstacked (rare). Be sure to ask about house rules wherever you go. For example at Fortune, there can only be 3 raises before its "capped".
