After my first extended experience of playing cash poker at the Fortune (1/3) I'd like to opine about the difference compared to that at the Tulalip. As stated before, for something like 10 years running I was consistently in the top 50 Tulalip hours played monthly.

To me the poker experience is superior at the Fortune and the reason why is poker is the only reason for existence there. Poker matters so by extension poker players matter. At the Tulalip poker remains the unwanted step-child. Slots are king. The delivery of the overall poker offering at Fortune is crisp and clean. I feel valued. By contrast at the Tulalip the prevailing attitude seems that I should count it a privilege that poker is even offered. My patronage is not important and I should be grateful for this sub-standard poker product.

My compare and contrast is subjective but it is so real to me. Just one element for example, the food is outstanding at the Fortune. Just finished a meal of chicken pad thai. Fresh, delicious and a steal at 50% discount.

I am a recreational ABC low-limit poker player, nothing special. But I am able to recognize good quality play in others. This I did witness at the Fortune along with other fish like me.

The 1 hour drive to Renton (w/o traffic) instead of 15 minutes to the Tulalip is a pain but it is worth it to play at a quality poker establishment.

I second this opinion. I moved to So Cal 4 years ago and have been itching to play Fortune. I'm about to leave but may consider long weekend flights up from SNA to play there. The location being close to SeaTac. I love the 8/16 there and food bad service is priority. They even brush the tables before use as well.

Is the Red Dragon a reasonable alternative to the Fortune on Friday evenings and weekends? The Fortune is great while my commute there is awful. My game preference is Holdem 1/3 and an occasional tournament. Thank you.

Lots of options on weekends for 1/3. Food sucks though. Dealers aren’t as good.

Strong on Mondays and Fridays (three games!) but it's been going every day for about two weeks now.

Palace 15-30 was weak today because of snow I assume. Should get going mid-to-late afternoon Thursday and start about 11 or noon on Friday. I'll be playing on Friday.

1 or 2 tables a night. Looks like people aren't afraid to get stacks in, lots of money on the table. Watermelons

Three 4/8 omaha tables. Very good tonight. Way better action than the muck. My favorite player built a 1.1k stack and blew it all shortly thereafter

Here is an example why Dragon’s dealers are subpar:

PLO game, dealer dealt the 1st 3 cards and then spent the next 30 seconds dispersing all 3 seat change buttons because there was a small argument of who has the first button. Then made everyone spread out the cards to make sure no one has more or less than 3 cards before dealing 4th.

Red Dragon has PLO? How often? What stakes?

They have an app for Android that’s similar to bravo. 1/3 blinds. Max buyin 300 from what I’ve heard. They allow a button straddle for $10.

UTG and button straddles are allowed and max of $300 bet and cap.

The only positive to report after playing poker at the Red Dragon for the first time is the Dick's Drive-In across the street. The place is a seedy dump. Cut-rate chips, uninspired dealers, power-cords stretched on the top of the carpet, uncomfortable chairs and a general state of griminess are a few examples. The Hideaway by comparison feels like the Las Vegas Wynn.

Until the Red Dragon cleans up its act, I will not return. Sorely disappointed, was hoping for a north Sound Fortune-like option.

I haven't been in a few months, but to suggest its much worse than the Hideaway seems quite hyperbolic.
