Not surprising. I would guess 80% of Sands players play at least once a week and the 90% of Sands daytime, weekday players play at least 3 times a week. Played 1-2 last Saturday afternoon-night and the majority of the players at my table were regs over an 8 hr session.

Packed house BTW, interesting to see what happens when the hotel opens and the Asian gaming section is added (20+ new tables).

I haven't heard any questions or comments on here about room rates but I figured that I would take the liberty to spread the word...Thursday's are slow days at work and I felt like typing.
if the currently only "value" their poker players (even 2-5nl) at 70cents/hours.. it's unlikely they will consider a poker rate anytime soon.

$149 is a bit high, but I guess they need to pay off the construction.

At just 60 minutes door-to-door, I'll drive home.

Don't worry, especially after the hotel opens and they start comping the old lady slot players, the old men will always populate the 3/6 game.

I've been doing well playing every other weekend at 1-2 with just an ABC strategy. What is the jump to the 2-5 game like?

Are you refering to the "new" high roller area?

Hey - I am one of those old guys - lol!

Anyway, can someone post and give me an idea if Limit Hold 'em runs during the week or what you have seen lately?

Thanks

You should be able to find one 3/6 limit game going on at just about any time during the week. I usually don't get there until 6-7 PM and the wait for me is minimal on getting a seat. Last Friday I got there about 10 AM and got an immediate seat.(I was off from work last Friday)

Until the above post made by Bored5000, the only time I've ever seen a 3/6 limit table break was when they were running multiple tables. One table broke and they just combined the remaining players from each table to make one full table.

I played 3/6 limit for a few hours on Tuesday and table was full the whole time I was there. I was 3rd on the list @ ~1830 and waited for about 30 minutes. List was up to 5 at one point.

With online poker on hold, I'll bet we start seeing an uptick in poker players at Sands. May take a week or so but they will come.

However online pros generally play good and
the timid ones prob won't venture to a real casino, so we'll see.

Any idea when sit and gos are and large tourneys are going to be a common thing??????

Played 1/2 for about 7 hours yesterday and got crushed. Some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue I guess.

Got away from a few hands and made some good laydowns, played too loose post flop and made a couple of good bluffs that got called reluctantly. In both cases the guys reluctantly called a 1/2 pot sized river bet with the phrase "I guess I will just pay you off...". I should know better than this and know how to beat this game, I just get too bored playing how I should. You can beat the 1/2 with ABC and patience, my issue is I am not patient and the play is so poor I just try too hard to capitalize on every situation. This style coupled with missing most of my draws, lead to a $500 loss.

Oh, well, maybe I will know better next time (but I doubt it...).

They haven't even started training dealers yet for tournaments. General consensus is 1 weekday event at 11:00 am. This may not even happen if the online players show up weekdays. I don't think you will see decent tournaments until the room expands again.

I don't think we will see a major increase due to the online situation. I know I'm only one person, but once PA opened their poker rooms I emptied my online accounts so I could play live poker only. I'm sure there is a chance that plenty of other people did the same. Of course I could be way off on this, but that's what I think.

I really hope that it increases action though , particulary limit. I was at a 3/6 limit table late Saturday night/Sunday morning and for the first time ever, while I was playing, the game completely broke and there was not a single limit game going at any of the 19 active tables....sad. I really wish we could get a 5/10 limit game going. If anyone ever has an interest in getting a bigger limit game going I'm all ears and am available just about every day of the week after 6pm. Weekends I can play whenever.

Does anyone know any cheap hotels I can stay that are nearby Sands Casino? I looked at holiday inn express and it was around $120 a night ..really don't want to pay that kind of money when I'll be playing mostly poker.

Thanks!

5-5nl runs basically daily, 1000 max buyin
5-10 nl runs sometimes and there is sometimes a bigger game running, maybe it's 10-25?

I can potentially move my arrival time up a bit, so if that'll help, I'm open to suggestions.
I've gone on a saturday afternoon and saw 30 people on the 1/2 list, I didn't wait long maybe 25-30 minutes. I was surprised at how fast I was seated.

5/5 does run basically daily and 5/10 maybe seldomly each week, but not very often at all. I've never heard of a 10/25 game going there.

One Sunday afternoon the 10-25 game almost went (1 player short) but nobody had more than $1K of chips.

Can someone tell me how many 1-2 NL tables are running during the weekdays after 10 pm. And when their poker room starts to empty out. I live 1 hour and 20 min from Sands and it would feel like a waste if I sat for an hour and the table broke, or if I arrive and there are only 2 tables which are already full.
