Fish hate SOSA, they love showing their neighbor how bad they're running, etc. It's a rule, but I don't go nuts over it, particularly when I have a pretty good idea of what they had, anyway.

Yeah, I could see how it might seem that way, and I was not angry in the situation. It is the randomness that occurs from one dealer to the next that gets under my skin. They want to loosely apply this for everyone, that's fine, but not true. I don't think it's overly nitty to expect the same rules for everyone consistently applied the same way.

I have enough variation lately that I don't need the tabel rules to be part of it.

You are so right. Had an old guy next to me last week and every hand he had to show me his cards. Got old quick.

Real reason for asking them to show everyone is not informational as much as it is to tilt them a little

Since I am not one to post bad beats on here I will only say this. I stopped playing no limit at the sands and anywhere else I play. I HATE NL. I always peferred limit over NL anyway and with the crap thats been happening to me lately I am glad I made that decision. My last 7 trips to the Sands playing 3/6 I am up about $800. All these bad beat stories on here reminds me that at least a suck out in limit doesn't mean I need to reload. Have fun playing that crapshoot 1/2 NL game.

GL at limit, if you think no one folds at NL, limit is a disaster. Hope you run well.

I heard March, not really official though, and some speculation that they won't likely have tournaments on the weekends, since they will be using the same tables they use for cash.

Maybe if they do weekends, they will start early and have a fast blind structure to get the majority of the tourney tables to break before the room fills up or they could consider just running sit and go's.

I'm not saying that no one folds in limit, I am just saying that when I get sucked out on in limit(which has also happend a lot) it's only costing me a few bucks not my entire stack. I really wish the sands could get a higher limit game running, but I have come to the conclussion that there are too many No Limit players and not enough limit players for that to happen. Same thing happend in AC. I loved the 5/10 limit game but that game has died at both the Taj and Borgata.

When I was there last week, a dealer told me Tournaments are now coming in April. Not sure if I missed, but also told me comp rate is up to .70/hour.

Here is a question a bout the rules. If a player shows his cards to someone while a hand is in process, does that make it a dead hand?

My sessions so far have gone really well. I play the 2-5nl game and will be moving up to the 5-5 game soon. The 2-5 is pretty soft usually no more than 1-2 aggro players. A lot of limping. Plays similar to the 1-2 game. Get more action at the 2-5 though.

Is anyone familar with this story and hand from Saturday evening, Feb 12? My friend had just sat down in the game and witnessed the following:

final board was: J-6-A-8-8

pot was more than $1,000, all in heads up

first player turned up J-6

other player turned up just the ace and had his hand over his two cards as he pushed it forward

the dealer took the two cards from under his hand and put them into the muck

the player immediately started shouting as the dealer pushed the pot to the J-6 hand

the dealer told the player his hand was dead and mucked and the floor ended up agreeing

the Ace player was removed by security

What have you heard about this?

Was there Saturday playing 5/5 and heard no commotion, so it couldn't have been that big of a "scene"

that's pretty strict by the dealer. i hate it when people show just one card. especially if they have the hand won. technically it's a muck if he throws them in like that. but if the dealer took it from his hands i think he has a case. and for a grand, i'd probably be screaming to check the cameras if i were him... but i don't feel bad for him.. just turn over both your cards!

Yeah really, every douchebag thinks they are on TV now. My favorite is when a heads up call is made and both guys look at each other waiting for the other to turn his cards over.

Think this may have happened at the 2/5 at the back of the room toward the new section. I was at the next table and there was some commotion, but did not see what it was. Certainly no one was ejected though.

Most PA Sands dealers will not push a non-folded, winning hand until you show both cards. If you muck your hand before showing both cards you may be screwed.

I read that Parx is starting tournaments in May, so maybe it is a state of PA thing that keeps pushing the start date back

Good for the guy that lost this pot. I don't care if the dealer ripped the cards out of his hand, YOU SHOW BOTH CARDS that's it. I applaud the dealer and the floor for this decision. Nothing annoys me more then an idiot who thinks he is cool and shows one card.

Agree, I can't stand the 1 card show, I can't stand in general people emulating stupid stuff they see on TV. It doesn't take a lot of hours in a casino to understand the basic rules, and if the guy was in $1,000 pot, I'll assume he has played more than twice live.

I know if the hand is heads up, you can not show your cards to the other guy in the hand, like when someone shows a card face up to get a reaction I guess, the dealers are giving everyone a warning on the first time they do it, after that, the hand would be declared dead and mucked.

I assume you can show your cards to the guy next to you if he's not in the hand, but I could be wrong about that, but have not seen anyone called out for doing that yet.

I know it's a work day but I'll be heading down for the day/evening...anyone interested in playing the 6/12 HE game? I'll start the list when I get there and probably hang out at 3/6 until it goes.

Now that's what I'm talking about.....interest in starting a higher LIMIT game at the sands. Normally I would be there tonight and take you up on that offer however I will be heading out of town after work tonight. I would be more then willing to play 6-12 or even 5-10 limit in the future. I am usually there every Tuesday and Thursday evening around 6, and Saturday mornings. If there is interest list I will add my name to list. If there is not a list I will start one as well.

Anyone know how much of a crowd they get on Monday afternoons for 1/2NL? Heading down tomorrow night, but may be able to get there on Monday too, not sure if it's worth it though.
