Thx play. I noticed there are 10 seats at the tables, one up from the current 9. Wonder if the plan is to return to that number in order to help reduce wait lists?

I doubt it, that's probably just what the architect used.

What is the consensus on the new room? Anyone in here make it to Sands for the opening of the new room tonight? I am eager to hear thoughts and if they have made a decision on food service yet.

Room seem nice.

1. There's alot of space between table
2. Outside noise level is the same as it was before in my opinion.
3. Inside sound level is louder, you can hear more ppls talking etc...
4. Room Temperature was 74.1 degree. I like it but many complain that it's too hot.
5. There's no more cigarette smell.
6. USB charger at table doesn't seem to work.
7. I couldn't make out what they were saying when they call the List, but I think that it has more to do with that one particular person.

Good to hear about food service and as far as your session goes well there is plenty of time to turn that around!

This is an understatement! The noise level from all the people talking in that room is the loudest I've ever heard in a poker room. It's probably because there are 300 people in this small size of a room. The announcements are also very loud, which they have to be to overcome the noise level. For the people who complained they didn't like the noise in the old room, this is much louder.

The room is very nice and the tables are evenly spaced with enough room in between tables, more than there was in the old room. They also still deliver food using the dish covers or they put it in a takeout box, depending on what you order.

There was over 200 people on waiting lists while all 26 tables were filled, but there didn't seem to be a lot of people standing around outside. There were probably 30 to 40 people hanging around the podium but it didn't clog up the main entrance too much.

Chip runners now have to carry the fill boxes with them that security uses, it's probably better since most fills are going to be at least twice the average they were before since players are allowed to buy in at the table, and they keep 14,400 in the wells (don't know if it's just the bigger games or all games).

The room came out pretty good overall and there are about 15 to 20 65" TV's all around the walls and lighting is very good. I would recommend on the TV outside the room, instead of putting "New poker room" on it, there should be a monitor with the list on the outside of the room which would fix the issue of everyone crowding around the podium since the only list is on a TV behind it.

I thought the noise level from outside, specifically from the band was significantly lower than the previous location, however as others have said the noise level inside the room itself was almost unbearable at times. I had no problem with he USB at the table and was definitely happy with that addition. They will have to figure something out with the chip runner situation as the combination of allowing players to make initial buyins at the table, and further walks/bigger amounts of chips being taken to the cage the process is very slow and leaves multiple tables in need of chips for long periods of time. I thought the TV setup was perfect they managed to have both NCAA games on in spots where everyone could see either one they wanted pretty easily. One concern I have is that coming in/leaving the room there is a bit of a ledge and a few hours in they did put a "watch your step" sign up but probably won't be too long until someone is too drunk/tilted/distracted and takes a little fall right out onto the casino floor. Overall I think it's an improvement and oook forward to seeing what the future holds for the room

Can anyone tell me the quality of the PLO game during weekdays at sand, is it good with lot of action or not?
I mostly play on the weekend but might have some free time this Thursday and want to stop by for a short session. Thanks in advance.

I think the issue is just my phone or the USB cable I used. About the step at the entrance to the poker room a couple ppls already stumbled.

Made a Sands run this past weekend to check out the new room. Overall I am
impressed and think they did a solid job. It has a cozy feel of a poker room and the tables absolutely have more leg room which is a nice perk. As for USB I did not use mine but others at my table did with no issues. Table side service from steelworks is still available but those poor girls have to make a hike across the entire casino now so wait times are slower than normal. TV's are located all around the poker room and visible from pretty much anywhere in the room. As for first buy in's being allowed at the table yes it slows the game down a bit but I think it out weighs having to walk across the casino and back to the cashier's cage so to me it's an upgrade...the real upgrade would be a poker room cashier cage but beggars can't be choosers. Looking forward to heading black again.

Grabbed my 1st session in the new room. Pretty much on par with previous comments. I like the room overall. Hopefully chip runner efficiency will improve with time. What will not is the smoking outside the door in the slot area.

New promos in April, including HH everyday except Sunday, with some Monday/Friday HH every 20 minutes ($250).

Having the smoking area right outside the entrance to the poker room is definitely a negative thing. I have noticed the cigarette smell on me after I finish a session as soon as I get into my car.

Hopefully they will change the slots to non-smoking outside the poker room - that's what Parx did after multiple poker players complained that they reeked of cigarettes after going to the bathroom.
