I am off work on Friday and plan to visit the Sands for the first time since the opening week of poker. Can anyone confirm that there is a regular 3/6 LHE game going these days? I was really surprised to read in post No. 588 that there wasn't any LHE game running at all one night.

Ive been there 4 times, both day time and night time and it always was running. Sometimes only 1 table but still running

Thank you for the reply. I know it is mostly a NLHE world out there anymore, but I was surprised to read earlier in the thread that there wasn't at least one table of LHE running constantly.

I've been lurking this thread for awhile, and every so often I see 5/10NL running. Does this usually go off on a certain day, or is it random?

Seems to run on the busiest of days, Friday / Saturday / Sunday. Usually there is a long period of interest list, and even after it hits 12-15 people they don't always open a table up for it.

Last Sunday when they did the car give-away and the casino was at near max capacity (hard to find even a slot machine to get on) they were running 1 table for 4/8LHE, first I've ever seen that happen. Meanwhile I counted 12 BJ tables unstaffed and read reports the number was closer to 22, all because of lack of staffing.

There still seems to be a learning curve to what the players want vs. how to maximize profits off the tables for the casino...

Here now...bout to get in a game:

(1) 3/6 - 8 on list
(7) 1/2nl - 5 on list
(2) 2/5nl - 13 on list

Also 7 names on interest list for 5/10

Stopped by last night around 9 and got seated right away for 1/2.

I have to say there has been much improvement since the last time I was there.

The dealers have vastly improved with very few mistakes. I caused one Mis-deal by being in the Sb and having a card hit my hand exposing a 10 and promptly got redealt AK to take down a nice one.

Overall the table I was @ was super soft and I ended up booking a nice 260 profit in about 5 hours with little or no risk.

Can't wait to see what kind of tournaments are run as I heard a rumor once the hotel opens they are going to have a big hall to run nice sized tournaments from time to time.

This sounds eeriely similar to what I saw at Hollywood Casino at Penn National a little while back.

Considering the amount that every other casino spends advertising their tourney's in poker magazines, Sands (and other PA casinos) are stupid for not trying to follow the established ways of doing it...

I'm within an hour/hour and half from. Mohegan Sun, Hollywood, The Sands and Mt Airy.

I think the Sands and Mohegan is the best two shots for running good tournaments. I would like to see some BI's between 300-1000 a couple times a year.

I don't think there is any shot that Hollywood does anything good.

Mt.airy I'm on the fence but leaning towards little or no action on the touraments.

I'll ask you a question that the experienced dealer at Hollywood PN asked our table, when I trip-reported there:

If Hollywood hosted a $1500 tourney, that mid-western tour that's on TV (I can't remember the name), would you be interested?

Sure. I can't see Hollywood running a tournament like this though.

I do believe it is possible at the Sands though. There is a lot more money closer to the Sands.

Rumor has it that there's more poker money floating around out there than you'd think... but I wouldn't know for sure.

Any word from the floor when some of the new tables will be set up and ready to go? I guess they will need more dealers to.

At Sands right now only 10 tables staffed now. Max amount per PA gaming rules with only 2 supervisors. 7 (1-2) tables 54 on list.

Still some wonky-ness with http://twitter.com/pasandspoker - but it is working.

Got there just after 10 last night and it was like a ghost town, only 8 tables running and a 5 minute wait. Table (1/2NL) was really tight, almost overly tight, but everyone seemed to be in a good mood and happy.

Could be slow because of the Jewish holiday

It was slow I walked in to open seating for 1/2 at 9:15. They did open an additional 2/5 table late, was that a third, I wasn't paying enough attention.

Not tight at my table.
