Parking Garage, the casino is 24/7 so I assume the poker room would be.

I do admit that spreading a higher limit hold em game can be difficult for a 12 table room. I will promote and make honest attempts at a 6-12 limit holdem to see if we can get a regular game going.

Parking is free.

The basics comps will begin at $1 hr for all limit games and $1.50 hr for all no-limit games. There will be other side promotions introduced after the room opens as well.

The poker room is 24/7

Re: Bethlehem Sands Poker Room Q&A

I see a lot of promoting on this thread I think most of us are waiting to hear what the rake is at this place

In my opinion I believe it must be high if were not getting back answers I seriously doubt it's $4....

From Post #5: "Rake for the poker games has not yet been determined. I do anticipate that the Poker room will not have time rake. I will keep you posted when these factors are set. "

They've bought the tables, hired the dealers/supervisors/managers, started to build the room, but haven't done the part where they figure out how the casino is going to make money.

Yep, sounds true to me.

I'm in the Reading, PA area, so this will be the closest room for me. Definitely looking forward to a 45 minute drive compared to three hours to Atlantic City.

What is the rationale for this? Generally NL games drop less than limit. I'm curious why you'd comp them more.

Pretty much everything has to be approved by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. A lot of other PA casinos have just recently set their rake amounts and were building their poker rooms, hiring their staff, etc. without knowing the exact rate. I'm sure we will find out soon since the room is scheduled to open next month.

I assume the limit games will be 2/4 and 3/6.

Re: Bethlehem Sands Poker Room Q&A

Questions for Daveygravy:

Any word yet on the rake?
Will the sign up for poker tables be run the same as the casinos in AC? For example will there be a desk where players sign up and have their names (initials) put on a list that is displayed on a video monitor and then called as seats become available?
What food and drink service will be available? Will players be allowed to buy something at the nearby food court and bring it over to the table?
How long a break will players be permitted before their chips are bagged and the seat given to someone else?
Any thought to having safe deposit boxes on premise?
Where will players buy their chips, at the table, at a cashier designated just for table games or at any cashier in the casino?
Is the opening set for 12:01 a.m. of the opening day or is going to be some other time that morning or ....?

Re: Bethlehem Sands Poker Room Q&A

Here is a clue on the rake, guys: The rake will be whatever all the other new card room's rake is. Since those rooms aren't open yet, they don't know what that amount is. Now, let's discuss tipping.

Re: Bethlehem Sands Poker Room Q&A

I took a walk down to the Sands to checkout the Poker area yesterday. Basically, as Davey said the poker area is located in the middle of the casino all the way on the left hand side (if entering from the front). It's situated right in front of the food court, which I guess makes it convenient to grab snacks/drinks and use the restrooms. Right now its just two small areas roped off with an isle between them. There isn't really anything to see except one table that has been unpacked. It a standard table with a tan top and rectangle cut out for an auto-shuffler. No chairs, but the table does have a foot rail, pretty standard.

No sign of walls or a desk yet. There's only 1 steel beam in that area that they could mount TVs to, so anything more than 1 or 2 LCDs would require them to build something else to mount them to.

There's currently only 1 cage in the casino, most of the areas they have roped off for table games are close to it. The Poker area is probably the furthest away in terms if distance, but no TOO bad. Hopefully they'll have chiprunners.

I actually prefer it not being a "room". I know I'm in the minority on that, but I think it being right out on the casino floor will encourage more people to just sit down and give it a try.

I'll usually never go to Sands, but I'll try to stop down again in about a week to see how its coming together. Once there is something to see, I'll snap a few pics and post them (assuming thats within 2+2 rules).

When players officially sit down and officially tell the floor what they officially want to play (assuming it is on the State's official approved games list).

2/4 on average doesn't generate as much rake as a no limit game. 3/6 is arguable.

Thanks for the detailed update. I haven't been over there yet. It sounds like it will be in a decent area, except for maybe the location of the cage.
