How's the nightlife at sands? Is it with coming if you're looking for poker by day/fun at night? Obviously AC is better for that, but wouldn't mind a closer option.

I just got an offer from now to end of feb. for $99 any night of week.

Not sure about that. I showed up last Friday night around 9 and didn't get on a table until almost 11. There was a 65 person wait list for 1-2 and my table went 30 minutes with 2 open seats.

Last weekend was odd probably due to football playoffs and long MLK weekend. Friday was crazy busy but Saturday was busy but not the usual huge waits. Use the website to gauge wait times before you venture out.

$99 isnt too bad....im looking at rooms for a saturday night. they want $179. hopefully after i play a little i start getting offers for future play.

I am from North Jersey, Bergenfield in Bergen county to be specific. I am looking for someone to carpool to the casino a few times a week!! The ride is not too bad and carpooling will be cool!

Is there anyway to get a PLO/NL mixed game going? Say 1-2 PLO 2-5 NL or anything similar? Would they open a table like that? im heading up today and think the game would fill up if we could get it open.

Legally, they are allowed to spread PLO. However, they will not due to confusion among some dealers with calculating pot bets. They will allow a mix game such as O/E similar to what Parx has which is a split game. They would also allow something like HOE or HOSE. They do not have a mixed game placard but for a game like O/E, they would change the placard with each dealer down. Every half hour the game would switch and along with a new dealer a new placard would be put in place. It has never happened yet, but the upper guy there told me he would allow it. I personally would love to do it. Count me in if you put up an interest list. May be a hard sell with the weather being what it is today though. Last night was pretty dead for a Fri. night due to the weather, think today will suffer a similar fate.

This is a horrible mentality. There's only one way to learn and I don't want the "oh it's to difficult so we wont" attitude to hold the room back from other future potential improvements. I'm not knocking Sands it's an awesome poker room, just my 2 cents

PLO will be added this spring sometime to our game mix. The dealers can certainly handle it. Sounds like fun. Good suggestion guys.

Now that we have "Managements" attention, I'd like to add that I think the room is very well run and I hope you purchased the good (higher) chairs for the expansion. Hunting for those chairs every time can be a challenge!!

Also, whats up with 4-8 Limit recently ? Shouldn't the next level be 6-12 or maybe 5-10 with a kill?

4-8 LHE is basically the same game for the same crowd that already play 3-6. As mentioned earlier I have been asking to start a 20-40 LHE List to gauge interest in a larger LHE game.

I'd be interested in a 10-20 or 15-30 LHE game as well.

I agree with you midas. 4/8 LHE is basically same thing as 3/6 LHE. Reason it is spread is not because casino suggested it, they are just honoring somebody's request to start an interest list for it and then opening it up when it reaches ten people on list. Whoever starts it should start a 5/10 with or without full kill to make a more logical next jump up.

Bigjim, I do not think you will see a 20/40 LHE game there ever IMO. I do think a 10/20 LHE game may be possible if you start it consistently enough on same day of week and post on here to people to get interest up for a game same day of week each week. I would be up for the game myself.

Whenever the O8 game goes, I personally text or call about 7 people to get the game started. I have been getting it off Th. as well, but last wk. I wanted to get NLO instead and because of it O8 did not go off. Once you learn and befriend all the players that enjoy your same game, you can essentially pick a day that works for them all, start the list and usually get it underway.

Midas, poker is all I play there. So they were offering $99 a night to a poker only player.

Thank you Midas. Much appreciated. The chairs are definitely the high chairs. Just sat in a few to make sure. As far as the 4-8 limit I am with PASANDSMAN there. Players randomly started asking for it and have been getting it going here and there. I am stuck between adding the 3-6-9 game and pushing the 6-12 limit. I do admit it is difficult to get momentum with limit hold em play. My personal favorite when I play is 10/20 but that's just me.

It's easier if they use rounding rules pre-flop.. like in 2-5 the SB is considered either $0 or $5 in terms of pot bets so you can open to either $15 or $20.

For 1-2, it's usually considered $2 so you can open to $8.

I'd definitely be interested in 5/10, 6/12 or 7.5/15.

I think these games would only go off on a Saturday night if the wait lists were long for 1-2 and 2-5. Sands would basically sacrifice opening a new NL table for a higher limit LHE table. I believe Saturday or holiday weekend Fridays are the only time a 4-8 game has gone. Omaha seems to be different because there is a group of regs who get the game going and put out the word.

5/10 or 6/12 would be a great game, those mid limit games have completely dried up. Borgata and the Taj used to have a nice 5/10 game a few years ago. I constantly check the Sands website throughout the day to see what games are running. If I were to see a 5/10 LHE game going I'd leave work to come and play.

I'd walk to the Sands from my house for a 10/20 LHE game.

O8 game today or tonight at Sands if anyone interested. We did get it to run 3 out of last 4 Thursdays, think we will get it going again today. We also had a very unusual O8 game on Tuesday this week. First time game ever went off on a Tuesday since they opened. Game played full with waitlist for majority of time and started at 5PM. Nice to see this game is becoming fairly regular here.
