Hi 2P2,

Wanted to know if any residents of San Luis Obispo County were on here?
Just moved from Vegas back to this area and would like some players to talk strategy with or start some home games. Is anybody out there?

There's a card room in Grover Beach, but I think it's mostly limit. I think Chumash is your best bet

Yeah you're right , I play in all the rooms around here but was looking for players on 2p2 who live in San Luis area who may want to talk more advanced strategy as the demo in the local rooms is 60 yrs. plus.

Ahhh, Cal Poly grad from 02 here. Played my first poker at Chumash and Central Coast Casino in 2001. There is also a room up in Atascadero in the back of a bar where they play a lot of Omaha (or they used to).

I'm in my early 30's, live in SLO and play twice/mo at Chumash in the 2-5 NL 200-700. Wish I could play more. Let me know if you have any questions about that game. Drop is flat $4+$1. There is a big $180 75k Guaranteed tourney this Saturday 10/27. I don't normally play tourneys, but this will be suuuuch a good value.

Games are not big enough anywhere locally to be worth the time to me since almost all your profit goes to rake in those small games. Closest thing is a 6-12 full kill limit game in Grover on Friday's but it's a $5+$1 flat drop each hand. Brutal.

I'd be interested in a SLO area home game and wouldn't mind if it was smaller than my normal stake. PM me if you get anything together. I don't tell bad beat stories and I'm not a nit.

Found a $1-$3 NL game in Atascadero at Outlaw's Card Parlor. Buy in up to $500 and plays with $5 chips. Starts at 6:30pm on Fridays. Not much folding going on here.

My wife and I (recently married) will be moving to SLO in March 2013. I'll check back on this thread once we move, but just wanted to say that I'd be down for homegames and whatever else. And if it's friendly enough, maybe I can convince the wife to come too.

Better get here fast. I predict that game will dry up within 6 months. There's a reason why most small rooms only spread a 1-2 with a 30-50bb cap. Bad players go broke too fast and then the rake is gone. By the summer I bet I'll be driving all the way to Chumash on Friday's again.

Bump. I moved to Los Osos from LA. The options are as follows. Cayoucus tavern spreads nlh on Friday/Saturday nights, usually starts at 9 and runs late at times. The unlimited buy in is great for action "1/2", its also connected to a bar so drunk fish in a barrel. Does get to 10max and is a volume nightmare considering all the drunks. Oceano casino is not a casino its tiny. They do have a weekly schedule for their cash games, most nights during the week are dealers choice games. This is your older crowd and is a local/reg game. Great thing is the locals are crap. Games are consistent. Mongos in pismo is another tiny place. They spread flh and nlh depending on the day. They do get a steady influx of tourists and is a benefit of being located in Pismo. Call the card room before arriving to see what games are spread that day. Outlaws in Atascadero spreads nlh on a more regular basis. Usually daily although traffic here can be dismal. A call ahead is mandatory to know if and when the game is running. The players are an interesting mix, Atascadero is a dump. Usually 1/2. Chumash is still the best option for a 24/7 nlh 1/2 game. 2/5 spreads their pretty regularly on the weekends. Locals and regs are a mix of competent and loose passive players. The tourists go nuts with any 2 cards. It would be nice if anybody knows of a home game around San luis, if so pm me.

Bump. I also live here in the central coast and was wondering if there were any decent games besides Chumash. I'd also be interested in helping to get a home game going if there are others interested.

Just thought id take a moment to mention that's there is a nice little room up in Paso Robles now. Only three tables, but the 1-3 nl game there is pretty good. They play Omaha there too, but that's about it. Very clean room, nice staff, good food. 'Id def recommend checking it out if you're up that way...
