I asked the guy and he said its still the same with no end in sight, making the 2/3/5 a much better option now if ur rolled for it.

Hopefully they will expand past one table with these new rules.

This is great news. An actual NL poker game can now actually be played at the Grand.

Seriously. The last mention of the spreadsheet was less than 20 post away.

Ok I don't go to LC very often. What is the actual structure of their big game? I don't want to constantly update the spreadsheet with potentially incorrect information.

Does every limit game on the sheet go daily other than those otherwise indicated?

I just got back from 5 nights in San Jose and Garden City was 3 blocks from my hotel so I ended up playing there every night. It was by far the best run and friendliest poker room I have ever played in and I have played in lots of rooms. They don't spread high limit games at all but if you are looking to play low limit it is a great place.

I was playing mostly limit because I never get to play it any more and it was a fun change of pace. The players tend to be much more social with a lower douche ratio than NL players.

I played 6 12, 8 16 1/2 kill and 15 30 1/4 kill when it ran. I also played some 1/2/3 nl, 2/3/5/nl and 2/3/5 deepstack nl...all the games I sat in were quite soft and fun to play.

Friendly floor, chip runners and mostly good dealers made it a fun experience overall. I never made it to Bay 101 due to the proximity of GC and the great experience I had there. The food service was also 24/7 and everything I ate there was rather tasty when compared to other poker rooms.

Everyone (at least the dealers...so I assume everyone) keeps their own tips which makes the service great. The floor remembered my name after playing there 2 nights. The chip runners are there within 30 seconds of you needing chips and you generally have the chips within1 hand or less. I only came across one bitchy old dealer, everyone else made the games super friendly and fun. The board was run perfectly with one guy dedicated to sitting at the board and calling out names while the floor relayed open seat info to him via walky-talky. The room was brightly lit and had a fun atmosphere. The chairs were comfy. Food servers would arrive at your table within 3-5 mins of requesting service. Overall, I was blown-away by the customer service.

My only complaints would be that the $100 chips are a pale white which makes them hard to detect in NL games. They use $20 instead of $25 chips (I assume due to being a limit room as well) which are a dull green/black..also not great for detecting in NL stacks. IMO, the higher denominations need to pop a bit in relation to the $5 chips.

Funny story for fans of The League that made me chuckle. I would say 1/2-2/3 of the poker players are asian. One floorman named Davy is also asian. He had called me the correct name a few times on my third or fourth night there (my name is Dave, easy to remember for him one would think). So, I walk in and ask to be placed on every list except 3/6 and 6/12 and he says, "ok, Brian, right?". I correct him and wonder if Brian is sort of the default white guy name in his mind. He quickly apologizes and corrects himself. I sit in a 1/2/3 game for a while waiting for a 15/30 seat and he comes and tells me a seat has opened-up. I tell him I'll be there in a few hands and he locks the seat (they do this my sticking a yellow post-it with your name on the rail). 5 minutes later I walk to my seat with my racks in hand to see "Brain" stickied to the rail. Made me lol. Only funnier things would have been if it said "tall guy".

gta...when did the deepstack NL run? How did it compare to regular 235?

The last night I was there...so Tuesday night. I only played it for a few hours. It wasn't any more profitable than my regular 2/3/5 which had some fish with quite deep stacks. It is nice having a game with a 500min though. I'd say total money on the table was maybe 7-9k, nothing that great and there were a few solid to good aggro players sitting...maybe it got better later on, but it started with a waitlist of 10 and that dropped to zero within a few hours so I doubt it lasted too late into the night.

Don't go too nuts in the editing. The kill on the 15-30 game is optional but very frequent (really almost always happens as of last time I played it ~1 month ago). Sometimes the game runs with overs instead.

The max buyin on the deepstack 2/3/5 changes every time it runs. I have seen anything from 1k to uncapped. I would say 1k is the most common.

pretty much this. Anytime I go to San Jose, I stay far away from Bay 101 for the reasons listed. I showed up at GC after 6 months of no showing and Davy remembered me as "Julien with the nice sneakers". Got me in a game immediately and also seat changed me when I requested. GC def. amazing card room

No, it doesn't suck.

Don't generalize over 1 bad experience. We just had 2 people that praised the place.

I play there often. I could just as easily go to Bay 101 and play, but I much prefer GC for the reasons mentioned above.

Its a very friendly place to play, from the floor to the dealers. I play mainly during the swing shift hour, and its a great poker experience. There are good dealers and bad ones, just like any room. There is one dealer that is exceptional. Runs a fast and efficient game, awesome sense of humor, knows when to chat and when to keep quiet, very polite and respectful. Always thanks us for a tip, and looks right at us. Doesn't look down and rap the box. When he pushes in, half the table greets him, popular guy and you know the game will be well run and enjoyable.

They have some pretty good floor people. Davy is good, Tai and Johnny are 2 that do a great job. I don't play 3-6, but the little guy that runs that section seems like a good guy. Very popular with the players and has been very friendly when we happen to pass by each other. Seems like a hard working fellow.

The food service can be hit or miss, but Danny and Aziza do a great job. Hard working and very pleasant. Food is pretty good, a bit pricey but the quality isn't bad.

Having a dedicated board person is cool, but he talks too much. His voice booms over the speakers and after awhile my ears bleed. Would be nice if he used the walkie talkie to communicate with his floor people.

I agree with GTApoker, enjoyable room to play. Casino M8trix will be opening in a couple months, looking forward to playing in that room. I've heard that this place will be spectacular.

The dealers are much better at Bay101. I see many dealers at GC making multiple errors during their time at the table. Everyone makes an occasional mistake but I see that overall, the Bay dealers are much better.

As far as floor people go, my experience is also that they Bay101 Floor people make much better rulings overall. At GC you will get a different ruling depending on who is called over.

Here is an example of excellent dealer and floor people at Bay 101. I was in a pot heads up and on the river had nothing but Ace high. The villain declared "Straight" and tabled his hand (possible angle). I threw my cards into the muck (a mistake). The dealer said "you do not have a straight".

I did not want to contest it because it was a tiny pot. But the dealer on their own volition called the floor over. The floor ruled that overstating your hand can cause you to lose the pot. My cards were sticking out of the muck and the floor ruled that they were "retrievable". I said I had AT and the pulled my cards out and turned over AT. They awarded me the pot.

There is no dealer or floor at GC that is educated enough to handle that situation correctly.
