Oooh. I haven't played in San Diego in a while but maybe I'll make my way over to Jamul next time I'm in town.

I may be visiting this fall and was wondering if my research is failing me...

I'm looking to play limit hold'em, preferably 20/40 or higher. From what I can see, this isn't spread in San Diego rooms - I'd have to go to LA. Is that correct?

Thank you in advance!

Yeah, they capped the jackpot at 105k and put everything into a reserve jackpot after that, so it started at around 50k after the jackpot hit and it's been a few weeks since it hit at this point.

Yes it did go, wasn't a full game but we have to get started somewhere. We will be doing the game every Saturday at 2pm going forward. List will open on Fridays at Noon. There was good feedback from the few who came out and they all said they would be back this week again.

If anyone wants to get on the list for Saturday's $5-$10 NL game, call in to 619-315-2270. 1st 9 players to check in will be seated at 2pm Saturday.

5/10 didn't get off the ground at Jamul yesterday. I don't think Saturday is the day for poker in San Diego. I also think 5/10NL in general is not a great stake, the recreationals kinda get spooked above 5/5 nowadays. People who enjoy playing bigger than 5/5 prefer PLO anyhow.

IMO best day is prob Wednesday or Friday, with compensated game starters in the first couple months, and prob something like the 5/5 500-2000 structure. If that fails to get a consistent once a week game going by the end of the year, I'm just gonna assume all the indian casinos are doomed to get a consistent game bigger than 1/3.

I wanna eventually see that mix going at Jamul but the guys who like to play mix also enjoy playing PLO and PLO at seven mile has been truly crazy lately, so mix ain't happening until PLO slows down.

wonky app i think, cuz yday for example there was no 5/10 game, 7 names on list, and 2 ppl in the room willing to play 5/10, and the app said a 5/10 was running. it got fixed to 8 waiting later on, but since sunday is a megadead day my guess (i dont know for certain) is the app was being wonky.

no 5/10 to speak of in the app right now too.

If we can't get Saturday to run, we can try another day. Players just need to let us know which days work best for them. Also, if the $5-$10 is too big we can always push for a regular $2-$5 game ($300-$1000 buy-in) or our regular $5-$5 game ($500-$2000 buy-in). We are committed to bringing in bigger games regularly, but we will need everyone's help to get them established. Wednesday nights have been brought up for several players as well.

We had 8 players who got on the list, 3 showed up to the casino and the others were just waiting for us to call them if the game was going to go. If we are going to get the games to start, players have to come in and be willing to play a little short to get the game started. If we had every player on the list show up, we would have had a full game plus a few other big names in poker were willing to come down from LA to play but not if they weren't sure the game was gonna hold for them to drive 2 hours to get here.

I really hope we can get everyone coordinated and get this started, if we establish a larger no limit, it will easily open us up to have PLO and mix games here on a regular basis.

no disrespect here, but i think there's kind of a disconnect in terms of the data you're looking at and how it translates to starting a game.

you can have x number of people tell you that they're interested in playing on this day or that day, but a majority of those players are not going to show up and start a game 4 handed or 5 handed. then you end up with the same sorta scenario where everyone is checking the app and nobody wants to risk sticking their neck out or starting a shorthanded game.

my read (and i'd love to be proven wrong) is depending on a system purely on player interest and walking thru the front door will not reliably get a game off the ground in any indian casino area in san diego. there has to be an incentive structure offered to a group of ppl who will show up rain or shine and start it shorthanded.

then after a couple months when most of the community realizes, hey, this so-and-so game is a thing now, maybe the walk-in traffic picks up and then a game can run just from ppl walking thru the door. idk.

Sounds like a few prop players need to show up to get the game started??

We are looking into spreading a $2-$3-$5 No Limit game on Wednesday evenings. Let me know if you are interested in playing. It will be a 3 blind game so should be lots of action. Buy-in is gonna be $300-$1000. Follow us on the Jamul poker Twitter to stay updated.

FYI, I checked with Viejas casino about poker. I have an upcoming business trip and was considering staying there.

They have no poker room nor is one planned at this time.

I won't be staying there.

Where is your business happening? Sycuan and Barona both have ~busy poker rooms and hotels with amenities.

Best bet is probably to stay at that hotel next to Seven Mile. Rambler I think it's called? Will probably give a discount for the room with the boarded up windows.

Agree that I would love to see mix going at Jamul. I also agree with you that Saturday is not the day for poker in San Diego. Generally pretty light everywhere. Weekdays, but mostly Friday is probably the best day.

PLO went last evening at Jamul as well.

I was talking to the poker director today who informed me that theyll spread whatever stakes whatever games we want with any number of players plus free food if we gt in there.

If anyone is interested in getting some mixed games running at Jamul either Thursday or this Saturday PM me and I will contact the poker room director.

What limit are you thinking on the mix?
I’d play 20/40 with any games and maybe 40/80 if I can have some oversight on the games.

This summer at Bellagio was my first and only foray into the various draw games, but felt comfortable with most of the “normal” ones.

From their twitter, it is a $2/$3 with a $100-500 buy-in? Can you give me anymore info about if you've played it? Does it ever run on weekdays (I don't really play weekends)? How many people (one table plus a waiting list? Two tables? Etc.)? Did it go a while or break not long into it starting? Can you run it twice?
