7k starting stacks, 30 minutes levels, NO ANTES? wtf
25-50
50-100
100-200
200-400
300-600
500-1k
1k-2k
1.5-3k
I busted at that level but I'm assuming the next level was 4/8k. Avg stack was 20bb by level 4, and when I busted it was about 12 with 50-60 players left. Point is that isn't much bang for your buck. If they structure it this way so that it plays faster and doesn't run all night (11am start), then why don't they just add antes and, oh, I dunno maybe an extra level or two somewhere in there? Huge blind jumps for such a shallow stacked tournament. First live tournament I have ever played that did not have antes and nobody could tell me why.
What I did like about the tournament was the turnount- 146 players, 16 paid 9.7k to first. Not bad for an anteless turbo
Please fix this for next months tournament!
I don't disagree with any of the above.
I'd urge you to compose the above in a e-mail to Ben E., room director. He will respond. Send it to TV on their contact form:

Some thoughts- 146 players, and they have 18 tables.....OK, they are not looking to grow this one anyways. Even after the new room expands in July. They barely have enough able dealers to get thru this amount of play.
I can't see them adding antes anytime soon, and I wish they would as well. For a number of reasons, antes are good for the tournament, and help the better player out ITLR. This room, and several other casinos, are "anti-ante"
, and don't get the concept of losing some chip utility with early color-ups.
I wish they would take the deepstacks structure and lay it over on all the $250.00 buy-ins now. They cut the depp stack from $500 to 250 anyways, since it was too rich for the area. I think a $500 could work if they ran satellites for it, but they haven't visited that anyways. (table space on Friday-saturday nights a problem? perhaps) But since they cut the $500.00 to 250, just use that structure for all 250s. (10k chips, 30 m, 45m final table.)
Ben may read this forum now, since I talked to him about it regarding some misinformation on here in the past. But I'd e-mail him anyways. I wish I could play more on weekends, but habve only played a handfull of weekenders at TV
