I have no idea if they do or not, and neither do you. The point is, the quality of the venue is of secondary concern for serious players.

What do you think the primary concern of the fish is? If you don't know, maybe you're not as serious as you think.

Just stopped by this place today. The card club is only going to have 25 hold'em tables (CP has around 36) and 25 blackjack tables. The one cool thing is that they have a set place in the middle of the room for final tables of tournaments. The floor is about two feet lower for the final table so that people watching on the rail can see all the action.

The race track areas seemed really small. They could probably support 1/4 the amount of people watching the races as CP.

Just found this on the website.

"Limits will range from $2-$4 to $30-$60 and we will also operate pot limit $60 maximum bet Hold’em games with $1-$2 and $2-$5 blinds."

sounds like they got theirselves a bad version of PL (which is good news).

Lets see what improvements callerbury does to keep up. The 1st day of Poker should draw every fish in MN to this place. I will be there.

Yeah. Maybe it'll be PL on the first two rounds of betting but more like limit on the last two? Has anyone written about a strategy to play a game like that?

Any new info out there?
Anyone else stopped by to have a look at the place and if so what are your impressions of the place and the area where the cardroom will be?

I have it on good authority they will be using plaques instead of chips

That would mean the pros can't do their impressive chip tricks

For some reason I want beef and broccoli now...

Hello,

New to 2+2 so bare with any lacking.

This place is now open for racing and poker in July. This has been a long time coming. CP and RA are somewhat in this venture together....somehow. The bosses at both places are great friends so you will see the link to eachother before long. CP isn't worried cause now this allows another non-indian poker est in the metro of mpls. Jim Druck (RA boss) and Jerry Fuller (CP boss) are good buddies. Jerry's wife (or ex-wife?? not sure on the status) is a floor boss at Wynn LV where there are a bunch of old CP dealers working. Now with this new room in MN, and lacking LV business, here they want to come back to a new venture at RA. If anyone knows the biz...it is one shady family! So much more to tell....stories, links, payoffs....

I hope this sheds some light on the subject!

Peace and Good Luck!

Yeah I also heard quite a few dealers and floor people are coming back from the Wynn in Vegas which currently is known for great customer service.
That is only another plus for Running Aces in my opinion.
Now if they could only bring back a few of those model/waitresses they have out there that would really be something!

Ok Guys here is an update on the opening of the Poker Room at Running Aces - June 30th at 9pm. This will be the 50th day of live racing thereby enabling them to fully open. If by chance there is some sort of really bad weather that cancels the live racing between now and then, the opening date will be moved back one day. Given that they have run in some horrible conditions already (night of Hugo tornado), I seriously doubt that there will be any delay.

Hope to see you all there!

Were you out at CP yesterday with two of your buddies? Table 8 if my feeble mind isn't failing me.

Thanks BBQ.
As you can tell many are anxiously awaiting this event.
I had heard it had to be midnight on July 1st at earliest so how the decision to go to 9PM on June 30th?

Can you give us some preview on what the game limits will be?
2/4,3/6,4/8,6/12 etc... like Canterbury or something different?
Also how many and what type of spread limits will they have?

Thanks for any info.
