This is amazing.

The site also says they will spread Razz and HORSE if there is demand.

http://www.runningacesharness.com/card_room.php

"The room will benefit from a Players’ Club, complete with a private Players’ Lounge which will have finger foods available and will be designed with the long-term card player in mind with comfortable reclining chairs, and a somewhat darkened atmosphere – a quiet place to take a break from the action – complete with men’s and women’s rest rooms with showers – to freshen up after hours of playing."

They will have tournaments, beginners' table, Players' Club, pot limit HE, Kill Pots, Razz, Horse...Something for everyone.

This place will also have CP beat hands down.

Greg Bartku, a/k/a Barbecue was a dealer and floor guy at Canterbury for several years before going to the Wynn (I believe). He does give this joint a certain level of credibility in my opinion.

Those of you who think that this place is somehow going to be a whole lot better than Canterbury have probably never played anyplace else. Canterbury is one of the best-run rooms in the country, and we're damned lucky to have it.

Razz, reclining chairs, and showers? I may have to move to MN, and I don't think I'll even need to rent an apt.

Even luckier to now have competition in the marketplace

Is Bobby the one who wears the outdated jogging suit?

There is a Bobby who frequently wears a track suit. If by "Freddy" you mean the annoying Asian guy who says things like, "UNBELIEVABLE," he's started playing again recently. Three Putts is still around. Haven't seen Del or Fish or Andy Fox, but I don't play nearly as much as I used to.

Hey Andy - thks for the plug back there. I'm hoping to be a shift manager at Running Aces, but don't know for sure yet.

I do know this though - Running Aces Cardroom is extremely nice! You guys will get to see it soon enough. You will be impressed - guaranteed! They have also brought in a very knowlegeable and competent staff to run this place. I know that it will be a great place to play. Canterbury is definetely gonna have some serious competition now.

As for limits... don't know for sure, but probably very similiar to Canterbury. I personally would like to see more spread limit and mix type games, but only time will tell. Tournaments probably won't happen right away, but will come after the initial "opening rush" dies down. They have already hired a "tournament director," so they can't be that far off - probably a month or 2 after opening.

I've seen him the past two weekends at Turtle Lake playing 2/5 NL. Claims not to play the 30/60 at CP anymore because "the game has changed" and is too aggressive.

Wow this makes me even more excited to check the place out.
BBQ do you know if we will be able to walk through and see the cardroom area when the track opens this Friday April 11th or will we have to wait until the actual room opens on July 4th?

Ye, I always liked playing Bobby. I would always seem to run good against him and he would always bitch when he loses. He would always love to show me what he had when I made a hand like he wants everyone to fold to him. He wears those joggin suits everyday. Someone told me he might be gay but that is not confirmed. The 30/60 game really hasnt changed. Its a bunch of guys who are capping with **** and either trying to outplay their friends or running each other down. Bobby definately cannot handle this since he doesnt like to gamble from what I have observed. Curious to see how his game is at NL. Im excited for Raising aces cause i live exactly 0.8 miles away.

Im still living and working in Vegas for the time being. Living in Vegas is a lot different than vacationing here. Besides having your choice of cardroom or tourney to play in, this place really isn't that great. The novelty wore off for me after about a year. I've been here about 4 years now and am really starting to despise it. The traffic here is the absolute worst. Also tons of shady characters everywhere you turn. I can't even imagine what it would be like trying to raise children here! I guess I would much rather be catching my limit of walleye on my day off, rather than... trying to figure out something to do that doesn't involve a casino!

Anyone make it out there for the first weekend of races?
If so what are your thoughts on the place?
Were you able to see the area where the card room will be?
Thanks All

Yes went there friday and checked it out. It leaves Cpark in the dust. They have 2x as many tv's as cpark and the room is about double the size. It will be a great place to grind for long hours when it opens.

Shouldn't we expect a place double the size to have double the TV's?

I don't come to the card room to watch the tv. I come to the card room to torture the ******s. Wherever the ******s go, I will follow, regardless of the tv/sqft ratio.
