I just looked at the June Tourney Schedule and see all Omaha and PLO tourneys are gone in favor of... surprise more NL tourneys. This is disappointing but I guess not surprising as they are giving the masses what they want. I know the PLO tourney seemed to struggle but the limit O8 was doing well with a steady 50+ entries every time for this.

Also looks like the Saturday NL Freeroll is gone and they added a few new tournaments including a limit hold'em tourney which they have been lacking and a big 1st year anniversary $1100 buy in event.

Overall unfortunately we get way less "other poker" and even more NL hold em tourneys.

It looks like June 25 is the only LHE tourney, 50+10+5.
I will almost certainly be playing in that one.

That sucks, everyone I talked to liked it. I never even got a chance to play it.

The June tournament schedule on the website shows that LHE tournament, but the hard-copy June calendar I picked up there last night does not include a 7:30 pm LHE tournament that day, just NLHE tournaments at 10:30am and 3pm. Why would the PDF and printed versions of the calendar not be the same??? RA really needs to get their act together about how they publicize events.

Well looks like there is no reason for me to go to RA in Junes since they won't have any tourneys I'd like to play in. WTF is going on out there?!? I didn't think the Omaha tourneys were doing that horrible, 40-50 people each time. They need to introduce some Stud/Stud8 or some HOSE tourneys. GG RA, see you in July after I get back from the WSOP ME....maybe!

TDA rule #8 states:
A player must be at his or her seat by the time all players have been dealt complete initial hands IN ORDER TO HAVE A LIVE HAND. Players must be at their seat to call time.

But wait, it gets worse. There are three different versions of their tournament schedule. I just got their glossy mailer version at home yesterday and for instance this Thursday's super sattelite is listed at 6:30 pm on both of the calendars noted above but at 3:30 on the mailer. Doh!

Yeah there isn't much of chance I'll be heading up there this month. If I wanted to play a NL tourney, I could do that anywhere. I'm bored of hold'em, bring back the other tourneys!

Don't get me wrong I like to play a NL holdem tourney now and again like the next guy but they clearly have enough NL tournies with pretty much 2 or 3 a day so to remove the 1 or 2 PLO and O8 tournies doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I give RA management a lot of credit though for starting these other tournies, I just think they also need to give them time on a regular night to grow.

I will probably try the new limit holdem tourney on Thurs 6/25, if they have it.

To have a great card room you need to be able to spread other games, not just hold'em. You can't expect Omaha 8 and PLO tourneys to grow if you take them out of the rotation. I would be very pleased if they put some stud into the rotation, it's not hard to deal. Get your head out of your asses management....

I played my first live tournament ever today during the $85+15+5 noon tournament.

I was so tight-passive it wasn't even funny because I was so overwhelmed by the live atmosphere. I had a great time though and busted out w/ JJ to AKo w/ about 15 players remaining.

Looking forward to getting a bit more comfortable at the tables.

BBQ'd hasn't posted in this thread for a whole year now.

Should we bug him at RA or does he still lurk in this thread?

Hey guys, what do you think about trying to spread a "crazy pineapple" game, low stakes at aces, either spread or limit no preference. Just wondering about the interest level.:

Can't do it.
RA is only approved for Hold'Em, Omaha, and Stud.

I think the reason why is:
When they opened, they needed to submit some sort of plan of operation to the state. This included the 3 games mentioned above, so that's all that they're allowed to spread.

They're starting to spread Omaha more often now (Friday-Sunday) so I will probably play that from time to time.

Can anyone confirm this? I've never heard anything like that from any of the dealers or floor people.

It gets even worse, now the web schedule doesn't have the LHE tourney on 6/25 listed anymore.

BBQ'd, I don't think you are in charge of the tourneys but if you know who is could you pass on that we would like the web schedule, schedule on the mailer, and schedule on the flyers in house to match and be accurate.

Also, can you please add a limit hold em tourney and/or bring back the PLO, and O8 tourneys as there are many who want them.
Thanks

At our Sunday night HO game (which actually hasn't run in about two months ), I've tried to add Razz to the mix (to make it a HOR game ldo).
They said they're not allowed to spread Razz.

Did anybody play the $1000 anniversary event yesterday? How was the turnout for the tourney?

I was there but not in the tournament. First place was a little more than $20K so there would have been something like 70-75 entrants.

It is true about only spreading Hold'Em, Omaha, and Stud.

they CAN, if enough people request other games, get approval from the state to spread whatever.

I would love to spread a weekly mix game if we were able to gather enough people. I would prefer as many games in the mix as possible and would like to play as high as people would be willing to. This is just a pipe dream of mine really but it could be super fun. I'd be willing to play as low as 4/8 to get the game started.

On another note I overheard funny conversation from a player today. I was at running aces to play some 3/6 LHE with a friend who doesnt have the roll for anything higher and there was this dude sitting a couple seats to my left. He was playing reasonably for 3/6 standards and loved commenting/analyzing on the tables play. Anyways he eventually gets sucked out in some crazy standard 3/6 fashion to some 3-5 outer and proceeds to rant on the "fish" on how he's a pro and how makes a living off of people like him. I had to bite my tongue to not lol here as we were playing 3/6 and this guys boasting about being a pro. You'd be better off grinding out a job at Mcdonalds than being a 3/6 pro lol.

Once my friend left I played in the 20 game and it was the best i've played in yet. It's good to see the 20 game is still going strong! The guy sitting next to me for most of the session was on the heater of a lifetime however and had built 1 rack into 8 playing uber loose passive. The only other person winning on the table was the 2nd most loose passive player on the table, gotta love limit hold'em. I managed to grind out a small win over 12 hours. The game was still amazing when I left but I was just exhausted.

I swear I know this kid, young, kinda short, shaved face and talks kinda funny. I was playing 2-4 w my wife after I busted in a tourny, some kid was sitting there bragging about how he lives off poker playing 2-4 and 3-6. Maybe Im wrong, but I dont think many are that stupid to open their mouths and say such silly things. GL beating a rake of 5 plus a BBJ

This was on Tuesday? Cuz the dealer James did this on Sunday. I wasn't at the table but he had to have around 7-9 racks on the 4-20 game. Definitely one of the biggest single chip stacks I have ever seen. Granted I don't play live all that often but still.
