When do the tournaments start?

I heard they are spreading a $200 buy-in on Tuesday night is that correct? Are the number of tables going to be limited... is it going to be like oldschool Canterbury where you have to get there 4 hours early to get a line pass?

I was there for the first time tonight. The room is very, very nice. The room has a very high ceiling which makes it feel even more comfortable.

I only played for an hour or so, so I obviously didn't see all that much. Dealers were fine. The tray counting is annoying and needs to stop.

They also have to get safety deposit boxes. I asked about them tonight, and was told that there is no "room for them." This is unacceptable. They have this pit area that is apparently for one of the bigger games, typically the 30/60 game. Anyone who intends to play for more than 4 hours in that game is going to want to have at least 1500, and could easily win 2500 and now will be leaving with 4k. It strikes me as rather customer unfriendly to put these people and all their money on display for any passersby to gawk at, and then not allow them the reasonable precautionary measure of a safety deposit box. The one at Canterbury works just fine and isn't even as big as a small refridgerator. There is no reason not to have them at Running Aces, especially if they want to keep the bigger games running.

I haven't been up there yet, but I notice they have continual errors on the website. Especially with the July tournament schedules. Day and dates that don't match. Links going to the wrong tourny. They also don't seem to care about responding to email questions.

Tourneys started last Wed 7/9.
Anyone played in any of the tourneys yet and if so how has the attendance been and how were they run?
It seems these daytime tourneys on Wed and Thurs might be kind of thin attendance wise but the Sat and Sun deepstack tourneys look pretty good and should compete well with what Canterbury offers. The Sit N Go structure can't possibly be worse that what Canterbury offers.

Here is the schedule:

Thanks for any info

BBQ (or any one who knows),

Why does the 15/30 game have the 2/3 blind structure, yet the 30/60 game has the 1/2 structure? Please explain.

They had about 80 players (plus 10 that busted and rebought) for the Saturday $175.

Would also love to know when they are going to fix the tray issue. Even if they won't give each dealer a tray, at least stock the 30 tray better. It needs to be filled every down. We actually started counting the number of hands we were dealt/down this weekend. The average was around 11....with the best being 20. (2nd best was 13). This is so so unacceptable IMO.

75 entries last night for the midnight madness tourney. 80-some entries into the $80 tourney last wednesday. I couldn't make it for any of the weekend tournies.

I'll try out the $230 tonight.

- The tourney chips are much nicer than CPs

i kinda like the CP tourney chips... nothing better than having a big stack of yellow in front of you... or the always lovely gray chips they used to give out with the Wednesday tournament used to draw 150+ players

Just a guess, but to avoid $2.50 chips in the $15-30? I assume all RA games (but 15-30) have "1-2" structures.

Although, I haven't been able to attend yet.

I never said I did. I have my own thoughts on the matter, but I am curious to know their thoughts.

The worst thing about the room by far is that they have direct tv but only like 10 channels. If the Twins are playing on Fox Sports Net, which is every time they play a game thats not on sunday afternoon, they can't get it on their tv. The same will be true for the Timberwolves, Wild etc. This just isnt very smart and in 10 days since it was first brought to their attention they havent done anything to fix it.

Wow, they need to fix that asap. No twins? Big deal to me and I'm sure quite a few others.

No kidding. It is almost a deal breaker for me. I waged a holy war against my gym for this, so I would just go to CP if I knew that the Twins/Wild, etc. were on.

I don't see how their DirecTv only has 10 channels... the bare bone direcTV package comes with local channels, espn networks and foxsports... maybe the people working it don't know what the channels are

Pretty certain I watched the Twins this weekend at RA...either Saturday or Sunday night...they beat the Tigers 3-2 I believe.

Yeah, and last Tuesday I watched them (I'm pretty sure it was on FSN but you could check to see who broadcast the 7/8 game) after being first told that they couldn't get the game. All it took was asking the right person until someone got it done.

I went there Tuesday. The dealers were error-free. The board girls were great. I like the game selection. I'll play there for cash games from now on.

I walked through the Club. Did I miss something? All I saw was a couple of TV's, computers and a food table. Nice, but not worth $15 a day.

$15/day? I've gone in there every time i've played and never been stopped, never been asked for money...what is this $15/day thing?

I went in free too. The brochures say you have to have a ceraint number of comp points or pay $15 to get in.

It looks like eventually they will have someone at the desk in there to take payments or comps.

Was there collusion in the games that you never play?

Any updates on how many players are turning out for the tourneys at RA? Specifically the Tues, Sat and Sun ones?
I know the staff has been a little shaky in the cash games so how have the tourneys been running?
I'm thinking of playing the Sat tourney in a couple of weeks.

Thanks
