They have PNIA coming for cash games and king of the hill, a great opportunity to run a big tournament. And they chose to run a $250?

A 1k with 200k gtd would get 400k prizepool easily. A chance to put this place on the map.

Disappointing.

It's bc it's NY regulated and run. They also are trying to figure everything out.

This 100k GTD should be 200-250k

The tournament dealers are horrible. They apparently don't have enough poker dealers so they use table games dealers in the tournament. Slow dealing, can't shuffle, don't know how to make change, don't know how to make a side pot, and on and on and on. It's so painful it would be worth the extra travel time to play at TS. Even many of the "poker" dealers are still incompetent. They need some serious retraining.

Are the cash game dealers still pretty bad? Was thinking of heading to this place sometime soon. Debating just skipping it and heading to TurningStone instead.

I'd say about half of them are decent to good. A few really good but that's because they dealt other places.

Some are just horrible. Agreed with the above poster and said this the last tourney that was run there. A lot cannot deal. I feel bad for some of them.

One lady said she was working the cage and was called to deal. Lol. I was actually basically dealing myself. I was making change for the table, annoucing which hands beat what and assisting with handling bets and cutting out raises and pushing pots... really frustrating because I'd like to enjoy and relAx and focus but you can't when you see literally 1-3 hands per level.

Hopefully it gets better, but if TS is only 30-40 min further for you, I highly recommend the drive there.

In all honesty, I played there in early August and found the room to be a pleasant surprise. The dealers on late swing/early grave were all above average, and he guest service was very good.

I've seen 30+ min for a water or an orange juice. Depends on the day

I might be in the area for 2weeks-month starting Monday. Extended stay optionsnearby? Poker room said 20-30% discount if your playing 4+ hours, hard to imagine guys paying that at 2/5.

Anyone at the Anniversary want to give some feedback as I'm curious as to how things are running with that many people in the room

I was lucky enough to get there at exactly 11 so I was seated at the last empty table right away. by noon the list was insane, and it stayed at like 80+ all day. 16 table room just isnt equipped to handle that kind of traffic. None of the other similar promos fill the room up that much though, even today with $500 high hands every hour you should be able to walk in and get a seat.

Hi to everyone ITT. I've been playing off and on at Rivers since late last summer and enjoying the games (almost all 1/2NL, with a bit of 2/5 thrown in). I'd be interested in meeting 2+2ers away from the table or saying hi during game. PM me if interested. I'm starved for poker community since moving to Williamstown, MA.

Thanks,
–E.F.

Been away from the poker scene and thought I would check out the thread... sad to see there doesn't seem to be much excitement about this place on the forum.

Carl Trooper... if you're reading I lost your number when I got a new phone... (we met real quick on opening day and chatted once or twice since). I was hoping to talk to you because I know you probably hit this place up once in a while and could fill me in. I'm ready to start playing again and wanted some info.

Zqzeek how are you doing finding locals to meet up with?

Not really sure what the point of this post is other than to give it a bump.

I see there is a $570 high hand this upcoming Saturday/Sunday but it's listed as a free entry into the Monday tournament. Does anyone know if you can take a cash payout (even as lesser amount) or if you have to take the tournament entry if you win?

Pretty sure you have to take the tourney entry, but you can probably sell it at a discount.

I confirmed this last Friday. You cannot take cash. You must take the tournament buy-in but it can be transferred or sold to someone else.
