Anyone on here playing at that 4-8 game last night? Was that guy on crack or what? I mean he couldn't sit still and bouncing around. On more then one occasion he had a flush and when he turned over his cards he was like "straight"..... Not sure what his deal was...

He called your straddle hand all the way down with what I'm sure was fourth best hand easily. And then he said some dumb **** about that hand. Hopefully he comes back often.

Played at the Rivers on Saturday for the first time (left the Pitt game in the 3rd quarter). I mostly play at the Meadows since its more convenient.

Litterally was trying to hit and run just to recoup the money I spent on parking, tickets, food, and drinks. I now have confirmation for myself about the HORRIBLE level of play!

Got a 1/3 seat immediately and there was a total of 4 competent players (3+myself). It was extremely easy to stay out of their way and then just take money from the other 60% of the table. I sat down at 4...by 5 I was up $112. And that was after losing about $75 in one of my first few hands when a guy (not one of the competent players) called my TPGK bets all the way with bottom pair and hit 2 small pair on the river.

Rivers vs. Meadows in regards to level of play:
The skill level at the Meadows is higher in my opinion. The games there are tight/passive for the most part so its fairly easy to play more hands and take control of a table...and just get out of the way when you face resistance. Rivers is definitely more action so you have to play a little more patient knowing that your good hands will get paid off!

The Bad Beat Jackpot hit last night. The "loser" took home around 43k with Quad Jacks losing to Quad Aces.

Not yet on both.

Their existing room is pretty full most nights, so until they get approval for more tables/a separate tourney room probably no tourneys.

I heard the same, but that can usually be fixed. The state approval is probably the real hurdle.

Anyone there last Friday (9/17) afternoon? Chaos at the 1-3 table?

In Summary, as i understand (not a table) - on River, all in by seat 5 and seat 2 either says " I should call" or "I call". then seat 5 immedialty flips over full house and seat 2 trys to say that he did not call. $600 bet / ? call into pot of $400 or so, i think.

Dealer was apparently not definitive as to what seat 2 said - at least it started that way, no explination as to how floor determined it was a call. Woman in seat 3 left, very upset, as she was getting pulled into debate as to waht she heard, and to point that her husband got in discussion with player to leave his wife out of it,...

2 questions:

Seemed to me floor took way too long to resolve (20 - 25 min) and let way too many people get in on arguement, discussion, etc (to point that several security guards and floor were around table, plus the other 10-15 on-lookers). Should it have taken that long?

If the dealer is not sure what seat 2 said - why reward the premature show of cards by seat 5 that really started the problem to begin with?

In the end seat 2 had to pay, somehow determined it was a call (about $600 to call), and left none too happy.

Funny side note - about 1 hr or so after hand - these two in hand in question are back playing at same table in seat 4 & 5 - lol.

Not sure about friday, but saturday around 6:30, a guy got kicked out, they were talking abotu calling the state police and writing up a "perma-ban". The thing was, I didn't see any disturbance or anything out of the ordinary.

I asked a dealer a down or 2 later and he said the guy was there the previous few days causing problems, and the event on Saturday was I guess verbally declaring "I put you all in" vs "all-in" or some nonsense of the like. Not really sure if that would be the same person, I didn't get a very good look at the guy, he was african-american with short hair is all I can remember.

Got there too late Friday for that one (post 538), but I had the fun of witnessing a 1/3 PLO player accusing us of cheating him (and insisting the floor be called) because he had the Ace of hearts and there were 4 hearts on the board.

Asked a floor guy about tournaments tonight. He said he was keeping track and I was the 36th person to ask today (this was around 5:30 or so). He apologized and said they really want them, but (now, while I was talking to him, cards were being dealt, so I didn't get a good chance to hear him) it sounded like he basically said The Meadows screwed things up when they applied for tournaments and the State said no other casinos can start tournaments until they figure it out. Or something. Sorry. I could only half listen. But it was something about how the Meadows applied or how they're running them or something. End result that I got...we're waiting for Pa.

Correct. The Meadows was the only room to apply for tournaments in the state, and asked for only six tourney tables. What I have been told is that they then ran more tourney tables than that without permission.

As a result, I got the impression that the state is annoyed, especially since the table game ratios would be off if more tables are added (even if they're only being used for tourneys).

Given the need for tax revenue because of the budget shortfall, I presume the Gaming Board is under pressure to make sure the slots money is rolling in, because table games are taxed at a lower rate.

Was this a 2/5 table? On Friday evening (the day before), there was a fairly protracted argument between a floorman and a gentleman fitting your description. This was on table 6, I believe (often a 2/5 table).

I don't know what the argument was about, but it lasted for 15-20 minutes, and it was annoying. At a nearby table, we were wondering why the floor wouldn't simply put a stop to whatever it was (he's supposed to be in charge).

Anyway, this would fit the story - a player causing problems in the previous few days.

Not sure what table he was on, it was either a 1/3 or 2/5 I think, I guess there probably wasn't anythign super dramatic, just a buildup over time of the guy being bad for the game. Ohh well, nothing exciting. Might be up for a few hours on thursday before the Pitt game, depends on if I can get out of work or not.

Up $4K so far playing 6-10 hours/week with $200 buy-ins at 2/5 (Fri/Sat nights in late July/August/early Sep)... very happy to continue to chip away at your stacks with my win rate... especially if you think my strategy sucks...

My issue with paul is more about his laundry habits... dude needs to wash that black polo one of these days.
