All I know is that people have told me that the line for cards at the Player's Club is 2-3 hrs. I played the Meadows again last night, until I can get to the Rivers early enough so that I can have a card created and made! Or just created? Or just made?
quit being a dick or garrett won't want to post itt. ty

a rivers employee came to my table yesterday and offered to make cards for players so yes the pokerroom is able to make cards for players.

i love the room imo ... now if i could only take live poker seriously and not get drunk everytime. maybe i should bring my laptop and play 500 rush hands in between live ones lol

I'm not being a dick; despite several readings, I honestly couldn't decipher these statements.

I'm very eager to play at the Rivers, and my plan has been to do so when I'm able to visit very early in the day - because actual real-life people have told me that the line for the Players Club sign-up is literally 2-3 hours. So all other things being equal, yesterday evening I again opted for the Meadows. But if the Rivers Poker Room could manufacture a card on the spot, I'd have gone there.

Your post is the first clear indication that the Poker Room can manufacture cards. Thank you for providing the info.

I was there sat. night. 4/8 players are awful. was up 250 in 2 hrs. and left ... wife's b-day. I was lingering around the 10/20 game. Who's the guy w/ all the diamonds around his watch/ wrist. etc.. and the guy who has the eagles TO shirt on? they were beside each other.

Have a lot of others experienced the same thing? If so, how are you adjusting your game to this type of overall play(if any at all)?

Also, it's a nice change up to be playing with brand new chips.
For those of who haven't made it just yet, here's a look at the new chips.

Also, the $25 chip is more of a baby blue color rather than a green.
I'm curious as to how/who make these little decisions.

Lastly, as some of you know, the Poker Room has not yet been able to issue Players Cards. They are set up to be able to do this, but apparently haven't been shown how to make them. Last night, one floor was under the impression that they were now set up to do this right at the desk and asked for a players ID to issue him a card. I ended up leaving before the floor came back so I'm assuming you now can get your cards right there in the room, which makes it super-convenient for all players.

I've been trying to go as much as humanly possible too! This is really my first week playing live, but I've managed to adjust well I think. I'm +846 at 1/3.

It's been spotty with the players cards. Some days mine have swiped, some days they haven't.

Garrett, are there any plans to reimburse for the times the cards weren't working? I probably have about 24 hours of play were my card didn't work, compared to about 16 hours when it actually did!

How's the action at noon on a weekday? I have a 10am Dr's appointment and figured I'd maybe just head down from there.

Supposed to be starting around the end of the month. I've heard the same for the Bad Beat. Disclaimer: this is all hearsay.

I played 1/3 NL for a few hours last Sunday, and I enjoyed the room and everything very much. I will definitely be there often since I am local.

I also want to thank you Garrett for posting and replying to so many of the questions here. It has been very informative. I actually have a question for you as well. I am curious as to why Rivers is spreading 1/3NL rather than the traditional 1/2NL. 1/2 makes more sense to me as the lowest stakes NL game, and of course it is obviously customary in Holdem to make the BB double the SB. Consequently I was surprised to see 1/3. Is there any chance of that changing, or (obviously less likely) spreading both at the same time?

Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work at Rivers.

You can get a players card at the main cashiers cage, it right before the players club counter!

looking fwd to tourney info itt

i go regularly to niagara falls from erie, pa. the cash games are good, and three rooms to choose from between NY and ONT so i'll probably continue. but tourneys in ONT are rare.

distance wise, erie to pit = erie to niagara, so tourneys would certainly bring me there on a reg basis, or at least for big events. cant wait to play rivers

ty!

Agreed it's great to have Garrett answer questions.

I'm pretty happy with the poker room. One question I have is how do you check how much you have in comps? I asked a dealer yesterday and she said you can check online, but I don't see where.

We will be compensating all players for their hours this week.

At the very least another month. I can tell you that future daily, weekly, monthly, and special tournaments will range between $60-$3000

Expect tournament vig/structures to be comparable to those you would see in world class poker rooms.

Thank you for the positive feedback. As to you question about changing the blind structure to 1/2: I don't see it happening. I believe that the presence of an extra dollar in the big blind creates a much better action game. Our Shift Manager agrees and previous posts concur. I don't see the blind structure changing, or spreading a 1/2 anytime soon.

Comps in the poker room will equal one dollar per hour played. The comps are not registering correctly at the moment. See a floor supervisor, and present your players card.We will be able to check on your total hours played within the past week. Then we will be able comp you your deserved amount.

f'ncat: i can be in salamanca in 1:30hrs. it is much much worth the extra half hr to go to niagara falls. Salamanca poker room moved off site from actual casino so far fewer fish + about 1/5 of the volume imo. Maybe even less. way worth the trip to ny or canada.

I mean 1/5 of the volume they do in niagara + awful donk tourists from around the world makes it salamanca 1 niagara falls 15 in past year for me. rivers tourneys sounding good. Seneca niagara does good job when they do tourneys but i just like pittsburgh so much more...

have been here quite a bit so far.

dealers have been good for the most part, but ive been playing the bigger games, so im assuming im getting the better string of dealers (was what i was told as well).

wish the tables were a little bigger, but honestly have no big gripe against the room, except that i think some dealers have been a little 2 chatty with some players.

I'd agree with this - I've heard some dealers chatting it up with players like they were best friends from gradeschool. From what I gathered it related to their history in 'underground' games in PA, while not a huge deal/concern, it definitely affects the 'independent' appearance of the dealer.

Have only played 2 sessions so far. Both 1/3 NLHE. About 4-5 hours each session. First session was good, up about $200 or so. Second session was just bad. Was not playing well at all and knew it and should have just got up and left but I didn't. I have noticed there are A LOT of players limping in and catching with horrible hole cards etc. Seems to be a lot of pretty bad players as well. I personally like the 1/3 spread vs. the 1/2. More action in the pot plus that allows the buy-in to be bigger at a max of 100bb. Overall, I like it compared to Wheeling and Mountaineer, just wish the bathrooms were closer and the drink service was faster. Took me 20+ minutes yesterday to get a water!?

played 1/3 for quite a bit of time the last week and also played 1/2 at the Meadows not only was I able to get on a table with in 30 min but I also could go to the bathroom and miss only one hand plus the action was good and the players at the meadows are alot softer then all the young kids in hoodies, sun glasses and ipods at the rivers. I appreciate all you have done at the Rivers but the Meadows will be receiving my patronage for at least a while, based on comfort, bathrooms and skill of both players and dealers.
