I've never had an issue. I've walked out of there with literally 5-10k on me and never had an issue. Not one. No one scoped me out, no one followed me, nothing. People don't even look at you.

If you actually feel worried, park in the valet. It's right up front, and when you call for your car they pull it right up the door.

You asked if it was safe, and that's my opinion. Never had a problem.

How easy is it to get one? Is there a charge?

$100 deposit. I asked 3-4 times and eventually was given one. If you play consistently I think it's pretty easy

Thank in advance
Parx Regs/floor people/dealers have quietly helped rumors about sugarhouse..... It is LUDICROUS... The valet is LITERALLY 10 steps from the poker room. If you are a worrier and don't want to park in one of the lots I understand. I have yet to hear of anyone getting robbed. Frankly, I'm embarrassed for anyone who would spread a rumor like this.

There is a security presence EVERYWHERE..... Next time you play at parx.... at this is brought up ..... Call em out on it.... They are FLAT OUT LYING.

There are even uniformed police officers who frequently patrol the casino. I too was afraid at first to play there but I have never felt unsafe or witnessed anything sketchy.

The lots are like 30secs from the poker room, and you can even valet for free.

The entire discussion is ridiculous. The valet is 10 feet from the door and there is security pretty much everywhere you can go.

It's about as safe as you can be.

While there was a prior string of robberies in which people were followed home from SugarHouse, that was before the poker room opened. Anyone spotting people at the poker cage would have to be playing poker or they'd stick out like a sore thumb. I've heard zero stories of anything bad happening since the poker room opened and the valet is literally right by the poker room. You can even scan your ticket in the poker room and that starts the retrieval process.

There's no more to worry about at SugarHouse than any other casino in my opinion. Just use the free valet, and be as vigilant as you would anywhere else. I split my play between Borgata, SugarHouse, Parx, Delaware Park, Maryland Live and the Horseshoe (so I'm pretty unbiased). In my opinion SugarHouse is safer than a few on that list that you've probably never heard anything bad about.

I heard at Parx that if you play at SugarHouse you'll get Scurvy and are more likely to be hit by a meteor in the parking lot. Is this true?

Thanks for everybody who chimed in!

Most of the stories are from players, not from parx staff. I did not know there was a valet, so that knowledge alone makes me glad I asked the question.

I'll be visiting sugarhouse soon!

No, NYCN, he's right. Rapini hears several times a day "I refuse to use that forum as long as Asterix811 posts there!"

There is a $100 deposit that you can get back when you return your key. There are a few left. If you are interested leave your name and contact information with the poker host at the podium. Raye

If the high hand is still on, is it still house funded or does it come out of the BBJ money?

Are tournaments still high hand eligible? (I assume if house funded yes, if BBJ funded, no.)

This may be a ridiculous idea, but I just thought of it... What would people think of adding $2 or $3 to the tourney buy in to go to the BBJ and make tournaments bad beat and high hand eligible? I'm not even sure I like the idea, but it's just a thought.
Thank-you for your questions.
We are still running the High Hand Promo through the end of month as it is. Marketing is paying the High Hand Promo through the end of month so tournaments will still be eligible through the end of March. We are starting a High Hand Promo that will be funded with BBJ funds starting in April. As soon as the promotion is approved I'll post the details. The High Hand promotion will be similar to the one we have now in the room.

Friday's 11am tournament did not receive the response we thought and will be discontinued starting April 3. Friday's are getting busy with live games so pushing it back to a later time start just won't work on Friday afternoon/evening.

We have announced our $100,000 Guaranteed Poker Showdown tournament for the end of April. The dates are April 23 - 27. Structure sheets are at the poker podium. We are in the process of uploading them to our web-site. This will be a $250 + $30, 3 day tournament with 6 day one flights. For more information please contact the poker podium at 215-717-3883.

Poker Night In America is coming to the SugarHouse poker room and will be filming inside the poker room on Sunday April 26, 27 and 28. Phil Helmuth will be there as well as some other familiar faces. Poker Night In America is a cash game with a min. $5000 buy-in.

Thank-you for all your questions/suggestions/comments. All of them are read and we utilize the feedback to make your time playing here as pleasurable as possible.

I usually park in the lot right next to the poker room.

One night I was walking towards my car and there was a lady about 10-20 steps in front of me headed in the same direction.

3 security guards appeared out of nowhere and made sure the lady was safe and they did it without making me feel like a criminal.

There are multiple security guards all over the parking lots now. They are as safe as can be.

Having been to all three spots on a regular basis, I feel BY FAR the least safe walking out of Parx at 4 a.m. There is never anyone around in case something happened. At least at SH, I can either valet for a $2 tip or walk past the valets to the parking lot and if something happens and I scream, I know someone will hear it.

I will, however, no longer accept a seat at one of the three tables closest to the front doors. The draft if you were seated near the podium is just ridiculous. I sat there with my jacket on Friday night and finally thought to bring a sweatshirt with me Saturday. I was extremely cold even with the sweatshirt on Saturday.
