Few questions

How's the blackjack there if I feel like waiting two hours for a poker seat?..... Any 3:2 6 deck or less that aren't csm? Anything walking distance of the casino like a shopping center?

And lastly anyone have solid info on when they'll take call-ins or activate the wait list feature on bravo?

Thanks!

Blackjack i don't know all rules but its 3 to 2 even on the smallest stakes. I'll have a look downstairs when I take a break shortly.

Sidenote theres discussion at my table that someone got caught cheating at RCG. Would not at all surprise me but I can't validate. Anyone know anything?

Yes, someone did try taking two aces out of the deck hoping to make a switch, but the dealer caught him and reported it. RCG divided $3000 of his chips to the players at the table and kicked him out. It was last Saturday.

3:2 6 deck blackjack is standard at rivers. Going to only have $25+ tables on Saturday, Sunday, and Friday nights. Rest of the week before 6/7pm they’ll have mostly $15 tables.

The RCG cheater was Chris, a higher stakes reg, they were thinking he’s been cheating awhile but obviously no proof. He apparently previously self banned himself from Illinois casinos so he can’t play anywhere.

Looks like RCG is dead though, apparently they only had like 3-4 tables yesterday (Friday).

Yikes. Wonder how many times he had successfully done this other? Not sure I love that resolution, but there are myriad reasons I'm unlikely to play at RCG again anyway

I've played 2-5 there a few times with a guy called Chris, wonder if the same guy.

Not surprised they're dying, it became clear that it absolutely sucked a while ago, Rivers nail in coffin.

Still haven't figured out best time to go to avoid long waits. When I went early, they were waiting for dealers and when I went late the list was crazy long.

I waited less than 45m for a seat at 1-2 PLO and then another 10m for 2 5 NL on Friday night (got there at 530ish), and waited about 45m today for 2 5 NL getting there at 145ish.

Much later than 530 it starts to get insane though on Fridays.

I'm running like Jesus christ himself at Rivers so far, winning at $175/h in a 21h small sample size lol

So yes, 3:2 is standard, there are def tables with no csm, dealer hits soft 17. Don't know about surrender or double after split etc as didn't actually play.

Interesting that ANYONE would believe a corporation listed on NASDAQ: CHDN would be in a "demand is exceeding what they can handle" scenario. That is an insult to those billionaires! Rivers Casino Des Plaines poker room is in place and functioning as planned - long lists included.

You expect them to make more gaming positions than are legally allowed in the state to get the lists down?

When all 22 tables are open they still have lists.

Also even if they predicted this insane demand right now it doesn't mean it will remain like this. They want to maximize profit in the medium-long run.

Nice lol.

My win rate would be even more astronomical had I not folded two speculative hands in close spots pre in my first two orbits of my first session, I side towards nitty at a new table/room, had this session been this week with same cards i would have scooped another prob $1500 profit too.

Oh well. This will become my regular room for sure.

Played in a very good 1-3 game last night. The play/action every time I've been in has been amazing. Worth the wait.

What's the plan for tournaments, if any?

Arrived Thursday at 2:35 pm and sat down at 2/5 with no wait. Maybe others were celebrating cinco de mayo. The table was possibly the softest I have encountered at 2/5 in 10 years. I doubt one of the players knew hand rankings and another spot at the table had wild ludicrous bet sizing playing over 50% of his hands.

I have heard that they have plans for bringing in a tournament series, but they can't do it until the event center currently under construction is finished. It will obviously have to be a series that brings in its own dealers, given their staffing situation.

When this place gets up to full staffing requirements, the best thing they could do (IMO) is split up the podium situation.

One area for the 1/3 and 2/5 NL games.

The other area for bigger NL games and the PLO games.

Not much else to suggest though, great room.

Played here a couple times now and really like the room, but one negative I noticed is they don't reduce the rake when the game gets short handed. Someone at my table other night was asking the floor for reduced but we didn't get it until we got down to 4 handed, which we only were for a few minutes.

Hi. Going to stay 1 night at an airport hotel close to O`Hare on Saturday the 4th of June. Will test out this card room then. I see there are a few hotels walking distance from the casino, basically just a few hundred meters along the highway. Is this a safe walk during night time for a big Scandinavian or should I order a taxi to be safe here even for just a 5 minutes walk? Haven`t decided on a hotel yet.

Looks like Courtyard by Marriott Chicago O'Hare and Hilton Garden Inn Chicago OHare Airport are the closest. The casino's garage is the only thing between the hotels and Rivers.

Hyatt Rosemont is right across the street from Casino I am sure you will be safe to cross the street to the property . In general all areas surrounding the Casino is nice and safe but you know I think always a Casino attract bad apples so I think is best if always you will pay attention to your surroundings . Good luck to you and enjoy you stay.

The mayor is trying to push through the Bally's agreement by next week. I found a draft of the agreement, and good news for Chicago folk - a 20-table poker room is planned for the permanent casino. See Exhibit B-1.

https://www.scribd.com/document/5745...its#from_embed

Exhibit B-2 lists the planned components for the temporary casino. While it doesn't mention poker specifically, it does say "a mix of slots and table games to be determined"
