The tournaments will have to be hosted in the event space or somewhere else outside of the poker room. RWC is going to have to be prepared for 400 or 500 players, maybe they can do multiple day one flights. Or...they will disappoint tournament players and lose all of that business. Maybe soon Davey will give us some info on the first tournaments, buy ins, guarantees?

The room has been open for like 3 weeks, what do you mean no big tournies? Can you at least give them 4-5 months to assess the demand and work on logistics? lol, geesh.

Visited yesterday for the first time. I had a good time playing and I won't repeat what's already been said, but here are a couple things I don't recall being mentioned.
The room is friggin' freezing. Maybe it was just yesterday but the AC was on and many players were complaining. Apparently they have no independent control of the temperature, so we get whatever is being pumped into the casino floor downstairs (where there were many, many, many people and it needed to be cooled).
Also...the list board is all the way at the opposite end of the room. Why they didn't put it right behind the desk is beyond me. They probably have plans to do so but it should have been put there in the first place. Very poor planning.
All in all a nice room...much nicer than we have up here in Schenectady. Also every dealer we had was competent or excellent. In Schenectady we have some excellent, some competent, and even a year after opening some that are, "holy sh** get back in the classroom".

Thats what I thought at first too but then I noticed there are two monitors outside the poker room. One directly above the security podium and another one on the other side.

I got an offer for a free room, 7 days a week. I called up for a Saturday expecting it to be sold out but it was no problem.

I only play poker, except for 3 hours of craps on opening weekend ($15 to $25 avg. bets).

It would be great if they keep these offers up for the poker room.

"work on logistics" yes.

"assess the demand" (for tournaments), I'll do that right here for you all...Huge. Build it and they will come.

The general plan for tournaments is to add daily’s Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday’s starting May 1st. We will assess demand from there and build to our own branded event in the fall. We are also exploring a name brand tour for the future beyond the fall event. Tourney space will not be an issue.

When might we see a Saturday nlhe tourney? Something that starts before noon and has a decent shot at a good sized crowd.

The problem is it uses up too many cash game tables and the waiting lists are long, the casino loses money. Sands recently moved their Sat. deep stack to Friday.

Davey said: "Tourney space will not be an issue." I read that to mean that tournaments will not be run inside the poker room, there just isn't enough space with 19 tables for them to stop running cash games and switch to tourney - which would eat into their cash game regular players. (plus when hundreds of players show up for tourneys and they bust they run to the cash games). There is demand for tourneys, so how is the casino gonna lose money? Borgata and Foxwoods have good weekly and special event schedules. Will RWC compete for this business?

I took that to mean not an issue for the Fall event, since it will be held in either the events center or a conference room. I assumed the daily tournaments will still be held in the poker room, but I could be wrong.

Well thank you RWC...we can see the initial tourney schedule posted on Bravo https://www.bravopokerlive.com/venue...rld-catskills/

Weekdays will be thin, but I'll bet that the Sunday 5/20 will be mobbed. We will start spreadin the word to increase turnout.

Bring it on!

As we feel out the fields and the preferences of all guests we will move on to
The next step, which would include a special tournament area. For now, these tourneys will exist in the current room.

Hey everyone -

1. Any free slot play from taking the Chinatown buses from NYC?

2. People who have gotten comp room offers, how long/what are you playing? Your room offers have been just 1 night on the weekend? What about weeknights, same, or two nights?

3. Has the 5/10 OE actually been running Fridays? If so, I'll definitely be down soon.
