Called the poker room to find out if they had a poker room rate for the hotel and was told no.

Booked a room for wed night thru hoteltonight.com for $98 plus tax and fees. Total was $117 and then I have to pay the casino another $20 when I check in.

I cant wait for rivers in Schenectady to reopen their poker room.

All of the free rooms I've been getting at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun have dried up starting in July. Was getting 3 free nights at Mohegan and 2 at Foxwoods.

Good luck,
-Steve

Hello all ,
First time back since poker room opened up last month .
High hand of $ 300 every half hour 9am to 1pm was pretty interesting for a Sunday morning .
Our 1- 2 table had real good action , talkative and friendly .
A bunch of full boats were winning high hand only a few four of a kinds out of 7 or 8 tables running
For those that don't know poker room is back on 2nd floor , you can take elevator straight to 2nd floor from parking garage .

Why is it that proper procedure at showdown at RW is for the dealer to take the cards from the winning player and put them in the middle of the table, then muck all hands, and then push the pot? I’ve played in more than 3 dozen casinos in a dozen states and have never seen anywhere where the procedure isn’t to push the pot to the winner and then collect his cards.

So they don't have a poker rate and don't match tier levels with other casinos but it's ok. After giving them about 2 hours BJ at $100 a hand I started seeing a lot of comp nights on the weekdays. Also, Alder is very reasonably priced even without casino offers.
Overall, the room is nice and clean. Dealers are very friendly. Not all of them are very good and some of them aren't good at all but all of them are really trying

I'm planning to head up on a Friday evening. Any idea how long is should expect to wait for a seat a 2/5? Also, is it possible to call ahead and put your name down on the waitlist?

yeah, you can call ahead and they will keep your name on the list for an hour. Wait time could be hit or miss. Most of the time it's about 30 min, a few times a got a seat right the way but once I just left when I found myself 18th on the list and they told me that they won't open up any more tables since they don't have any more dealers. Also, there is no paging system so you can't leave the room to play BJ while waiting for a seat. That's just stupid if you ask me but nobody actually asked me

Does anyone know if the PLO game has been getting off the past few weeks/weekends. We had a stint about a month ago where the game would run Friday-Sunday, sometimes without breaking, but when I’ve checked the Bravo recently, I’ve not seen much.

Can anyone provide an update?
As an aside, I know they started running weekly tournaments - anyone on here play those? How are they?

The PLO was called a couple times when I was there, once it didn't go. Best way is to monitor bravo. And tournaments start Saturday so who knows but I would think there would be a long alt list since for the past year I must have heard "when will tournaments return" about a thousand times in all the rooms I play in.

I can tell you that there is a PLO game currently running now as per Bravo.

Can anyone who has played there lately give any information on how the 2-5 games have been. Haven’t been up in a while and last two trips the games weren’t that good. Thanks!

I played there a couple weeks ago, the 2/5's there are always soft games, but sometimes a lot of ppl are short, and any game can suck at times no matter where it is.

If the game is bad, walk around and look for the deepest 1/2 game and ask to go there instead. I did that once and I actually had more fun as well as winning in an easy game.

Starting Dec. 13th masks are required for the un-jabberdoo'd and they will be checking paperwork upon entry. Unsure yet if they will be following guests around to make sure they remain obedient or not.

My guess is they will use stamps or wrist bands to note who is jabbed and mask optional.

That's what I thought I heard as well. My county executive (rockland) today announced they're not even going to enforce the indoor mask mandate so I assume the casino is just gonna ask customers walking in without a mask for proof they got the jab but aren't gonna be chasing after them once they're in.

Up to a few months ago I never even knew anyone with covid, but now I know at least 5 and they've all been jabbed twice and are having terrible symptoms (like a bad flu).

Small businesses will be fine not enforcing it but places like casinos will have to enforce it. Just got an email that even turning stone is doing it and they are a nation casino and are allowed to make their own rules on things like this.

Also today Philly announced anyone entering a venue that serves food and drink must be fully jabbed, even at sporting events. I wonder how this will effect Philly Live.

For anyone interested, we got the 2-2 PLO game going this past Friday. Game was good with multiple 1k+ stacks. Game also went the previous Saturday evening and was also quite good, so hopefully can keep this up.

Hey, how are the new 1/3 games? Also do you still have to wear a mask while playing?

I was playing 1/3 NL there this afternoon for the first time in several months. My table in particular was a nit fest, not a lot of action. Max buy in is $400, some short stacks at my table, average buy in is $200-$300. No masks required for players or dealers.

I’ve played the 1-3 a little bit recently. I think the new blind structure and slightly higher max buyin are good. My tables were fine, nothing special, not too tight. But it really depends on day of week, and what kind of table you draw.

I started a 2-2 PLO list each day I was there a few weeks ago for a few days (Thu-Sat) & the game didn't start for 5+ hours (and was a horrible limp calling nit fest of non talkers) that only ran for maybe an hour before it broke. This was on a Friday (couldn't get it going on Thu or Sat) as well so 5/10 PLO likely only runs when a group organizes to meet up & start a game given the location of the casino.
