Glad to hear from you Dave! Hope you're doing well these days. A question: Will the room be ready to open as soon as NYS updates its guidance and protocols, or do you need, for instance, 3 months for the move before you could open doors regardless. Cheers, and hope to see you soon man. First beer is on me!

Thanks, Dave! Please keep us updated regarding the new opening date. I was on the first table to open on the original opening date, and I was officially the first player to make a pre-flop decision at RWC (I was UTG and limped trash because I didn't wanna go down in history by being the first player to fold pre with all the cameras rolling). At least we won't have to worry about the sun glare on the cards when it's moved upstairs, and it's closer to the garage.

Has anyone heard any updated news about a potential reopening?

The governor just announced all restrictions will be lifted and we go back to 100% capacity I think around mid-May. I checked the states gaming website and it still had the same PDF as before with the poker restrictions. The question is does that also apply to casinos and if so that means the barriers can come down too, right?

I've now heard from two former dealers that the NYS health guidance no longer prevents people from touching cards and chips. Wondering what the timeline will be for the reopening of the room (if it does open).

If anyone has heard anything, please feel free to share.

While I'd like to play now, I am guessing not until after July 1...

Looking forward to seeing you! All is well here.
Posting a bbj of 130,177 that was leftover to start the room off.

Has the Poker Room reopened and if it has which games and levels have been active?

It has reopened. Usually runs 1/2 NL and 2/5 NL with the occasional 2/2 PLO, 3/6 limit and 5/10 NL if I’m not mistaken.

How is it getting comped rooms here? Borgata is taking everyone's comps away and RW could steal a lot of it's players away if it offered comps and better busses to get there from NYC

This is right. Monday to Thursday it is pretty quiet, grinder-y type players. Historically summer Fridays-Sundays were good, but hard to say. My few trips up there since they opened ranged from decent tables to downright nit fests. That said, Dave and colleagues have done a great job with the reopen, and as the dealers dust off the cobwebs things are running smoothly. So, really, depends on what kind of games you are looking for, and what your schedule is. Best game in the room is by far the 2-2 PLO, which doesn’t run as much as I’d like. Otherwise, shoot for a Saturday, best chance to get seated at some good tables. I was there on Friday, for example, and surprisingly few tables going and no action. But that was the first nice weekend in a few, so people were probably enjoying the weather and not playing poker.

Dave, any idea when weekly tournaments might come back, those were always great, and a decent turnout.

Free rooms for poker players, historically, were pretty non-existent. Not sure if that has changed post-pandemic.

Nice! Any idea when dividers may come down, and when it might go back to 8- or 9-handed?

I played there yesterday and going up again today. We had two 2/5 games yesterday that were pretty decent. There is always at least one or two 2/5's on weekdays.

I am sure it was asked before but for some reason, I can't find any info on the poker rate. Does anybody know if there are any discounts for hotel rooms for poker players? Also, if you get a players club card do they start you with a basic red card or they match the same level you had in MGM or Ceasars? I rented a place in Catskills for the summer so I am planning to play there a few times a week. Driving in those woods at night could be challenging so getting a hotel room at a reasonable rate would be really nice.
Ohh and what is the max buy-in for 2-5NL, 2-2PLO, and 5-10NL?

I made my first visit to RW this week. It’s not Borgata but I found it to be fine for a day trip, and it’s a shorter drive for me than to AC. The room is fairly nice, the dealers and customers were friendly, and the eating options were good for a day trip. My two 1/2 tables didn’t have a lot of action but the games were ok.

Unfortunately, I did find that the reports I’ve read here of lackadaisical dealers and floorpeople are accurate. I saw an unbelievable amount of careless mistakes and basic procedural errors.

I went for a day trip last week to RW Catskills as well. They didn’t take my card to scan for earned comps and the action was okay for the 1/2 NL games . The poker room is back at the original location in the 2nd floor with much better lighting.

Went up on Friday (7/2) for a session. It was the first day of promotions since they reopened and the games were firing. I didn't have to wait too long to get a seat. Kudos to Dave and crew for quickly filling seats, as the lists got pretty long at times. I can see that dealers are settling back in, the room having been reopened for a month now, and most tables I played at things ran very smoothly.

Pushed for them to open a 2-2 PLO when a table became available, and they were able to get that off by 6:30PM. The game was great, and we played until 8:00AM...when I left there were still 3 guys playing.

I also heard that they hope to start having weekly tournaments against after Labor Day, and that we might expect one of the large guarantee tournaments, with the multiple Day 1s, sometime later in the fall. I know that a lot of rooms are suffering from a lack of dealers, so I am sure Dave will try to get tournaments going as soon as he has the bandwidth.

Overall, real positive experience on Friday. Will be back very soon. Happy to answer any questions here or through PM, as this is the room I mainly play at.

Happy 4th to all.
