Do they charge resort fees? $29 total plus tax isn't terrible

They have a new hotel that is separate from the casino called the Alder. It's not as nice as their hotel that is attached. The Alder you have to walk outside through the parking lot for.

Does anyone know if there any good upcoming tournaments? Also, I’ve been told the room is moving, and saw the area closed off downstairs where it’s going to move to. Anyone hear when that move might take place? Do people think there will be increased traffic from those playing on the casino floor? I definitely think more visibility can’t hurt.

They had $300+$100 Black chip bounty today 91 runners. March 23rd - March 31st they are having a $150,000 guarantee $350. Two to three weeks on the move and I do not think it will increase traffic. The best thing about the new room will be direct access to the outside balcony. March 5th will be a good day for cash $10,000 hot seat $250 every 15 minutes 12-10

Is anyone going up to play the Thursday night turbo? How many runners does it typically get?

I really don’t understand why this room isn’t busier, with its proximity to NY CT and NJ player pools there should be no reason this place isn’t jammed all the time. In my experience the staff is always at least decent, the room is spacious and comfortable. I’m not sure what the turnoff is for people.

I like RWC a lot and find it to be a nice quiet place to play. The drive is smooth, never any traffic and reasonable gaming space/area.

I like the floor and hotels a great deal. They are very very nice but the restaurants are lacking. The options that they have are okay but if you spend the night you really don't have any good options. The food court area and the 24/7 bistro (used to be diner) are your only options. The last time I was there the food court was not even open until 11am for some reason. They really need a Starbucks or Dunkin and another option or two couldn't hurt either.

Went down to the floor on Sunday morning 10am and it was a ghost town. All the table games wide open, nowhere to get breakfast and zero poker games up and running. 1/2 had a wait list and was just about to get started but that's all. I ended up leaving the casino and going down the street to get breakfast at the Monticello diner.

For CT gamblers/poker players we are 80-100 miles from RWC/MGM Springfield/Foxwoods/Mohegan so if you are looking for something with shops, food, and more gambling options RWC is at the bottom of that list. Just not enough going on. I like that it's quiet but they are really falling behind quickly and losing money.

Maybe when their waterpark and the Lego Amusement park is up and running 30 mins away there will be more families coming in and staying at the casino.

It’s been touched on already. They built a mediocre casino where no one wants to go. Albany blew it. They have a metropolis with millions and millions more tourists passing through and all that gambling money continues to go to bordering states who do it better in every measurable way.

I live in NYC and I have no idea why you think this...

The drive from NYC is pretty much the same as going to Parx or AC. (depending on the exact part of town you are leaving from.) The difference is that when I go to AC, I get: 1) lower rake, 2) comped hotel room, 3) I have 7-8 poker rooms to pick from if I get sick of Borgata, 4) I'm not stuck in the woods. There is beach, party, restaurants, and everything else in AC.

A much better question is why would anyone go to the middle of the woods to pay higher rake at a casino with crappy comps and nothing interesting near by.

Is there anything that this place has that is better than AC? I do plan to check it out but every time I think about it, I have trouble thinking of a reason. On paper, Parx and AC win on virtually every meaningful metric last I checked.

I went there once as a detour returning from Albany and I'm totally fine with never setting foot there again. The place is orders of magnitude worse than Borgata in every single way

This room is one of the nicest and most comfortable rooms around. No It's not the borgata but it's not a dump either like you portray it to be.

I never said it was a dump, casino's location decor and customer service is totally forgettable.

It doesn't have to be a dump for me to have no incentive to ever play there again. I was there during Labor Day weekend and they had 2 2-5NL games, and one of them broke around 7pm (lol). Borgata had 50+ games running.

why would anyone from NYC ever come to play there? it's clearly worse than equidistant casinos and not even trying to bring people over with incentives

I wouldnt say they don't do anything as far as incentives. They tier matched me, gave me free rooms Sun-Thur and now that they have the Alder Hotel next door I get $139 rates on weekends which is pretty decent. They plan to give poker rates at the Alder too.

The four closest casinos to me are all about 90 minutes away. RWC,MGM Springfield, Foxwoods and Mohegan. I get nothing from MGM or Mohegan and almost nothing from Foxwoods. RWC gives me $35 food vouchers on weekends and $25 match/slot play on top of free/discounted rooms. I would never compare RWC to Borgata and obviously the poker options are lacking but it's still not a bad little casino. Still lots of room for improvements to be made, though.

Are they giving you comp rooms sun-thrs solely from poker? If so that’s great news. Still, I would be pretty surprised if they are comping you better than Foxwoods.

90% of my play is poker at RWC. Usually, I'll hit a blackjack table for 20-30 minutes and bet $15/h just for fun and every now and then I'll throw $20 in a machine.

Sun-Thur free rooms is based on what I just described. I think a lot has to do with where you are coming from. They may be willing to give people who are 80-100 miles away better comps. I've only used the free rooms once or twice but have paid the discounted rates for Saturday rooms.

The Thursday night turbo usually gets anywhere from 50-80 players.

A table breaking shouldn't mean the place sucks.

I just received an offer today for free rooms. I never played in the casino (aside from a 40 min craps session on opening day). I live 55 miles away and I don't play there on a regular basis.

Players should log in and check to see how many comped rooms they have. These are for the original hotel only.

Anyone that’s been playing the $150k GTD, with it’s multiple starting flights since this weekend, has it been running smoothly so far? I am planning to come up Saturday for the last Day 1, but worry that they won’t have enough tables. Any insight appreciated.

I played on Sunday...it wasn't perfectly run (some tables would often be 6 or 7 handed, blind levels weren't consistently announced via loud speaker, table consolidation confusion) but it was fine overall I thought. 15 minute breaks every 4 levels or so so you have to be creative if you want to eat or something. Starts at 11:15am and the day ends around 8pm (end of level 15) or whenever they get down to 18 players (whichever sooner). I'd imagine the last day 1 flight will have the most entries so I would get there a little early to guarantee a seat...not sure if they will open tables elsewhere if they don't have enough. You can also call them to get more info just in case as well. Average stack for day 2 should be around 150k-200k with blinds starting at 3k/6k.

Are they also running cash games during the tournament?

Will there be enough tables for cash on Saturday?

If I bag a fat stack on Friday, I want to relax and run over the 2/5 game all day Saturday before winning the entire event on Sunday.
