El Dorado is your best bet. Been an action packed 1/2 game every time I've been. Think they have a small stud game with the average age of the table being over 90 if that strikes your fancy.

Yep,Eldorado is your ONLY bet.....Harrah's and circus circus have closed their rooms. And the action at Eldorado is fine, usually round the clock.
One snippet to consider, recently also seen in one of the poker mags, is Eldorado is considering moving the poker ops over to the connected Silver Legacy. The holding company now owns the entire block, Eldorado, SL and Circus. Putting the poker room in the middle makes eminent sense.

Going to Reno for first time in May for four nights, staying at Harrahs (price is right at zero dollars). Plan to play 20/40 at Peppermill, anyone play it? Does it go all weekend? Do I have to put my name on list days ahead or can you just show and get in?

Any recommendations on must eats (casual and high end) in the area or best things to see and do for first timer? Good casinos for cheap gamble in main downtown area? I assume cabs everywhere?

Also, going to Tahoe for one long day and night so any recs on that appreciated. Going to check out the scenery etc.

20-40 game usually goes Wednesday-Saturday evenings if it hasn't changed much in the last year. You're best off calling ahead of time and then getting there right when game starts, or else you may have a long wait.

What is the deal with the 4 or 5 tables of 10-25 nl they've had running on weekends? It's hard to imagine even with all the Bay Area players driver over. Are vegas players flying up?

Pretty sure it was an open invitation for pros, With Jimmy directing/calling and comping all of them with rooms and food.

The dealers were pumped as the tips were mostly green in color instead of blue.
