0-5 I assume is a single $5 blind game? Does this play like a 5/5 or does it play bigger w straddles ?

I would think a $5 single blind game would play more like a 2/3 game. The pot starts with $5 in it, a round of folding costs $5, and if you raise and take it down you win $5. All these things exactly the same as in a 2/3 game.

But this is just speculation, I've only ever played in Reno once 10 years ago.

My understanding is that the 0/5 game at Peppermill is played with a $10 winners straddle

It's essentially 5-10 because it's a mandatory $10 winners straddle. Also uncapped. It plays different depending who's in the game. Usually 2 tables going at peak hours. Stacks are $1000-$3000

The 0-2 game plays like 2-3 because it's match the stack and everyone usually has $500-$1000 with random short stacks. Opens are usually $10-$15 with multiple callers which is crazy with regards to a single $2 blind.

Thanks. I played a few sessions back in 2016 2017 when Jimmy was the manager. Heard he left and went to TX?

Assuming the occasional T/25 games are now gone?

Peppermill palooza schedule out for November… may take a trip for a week for something different instead of the usual Vegas trip. Fire a couple bullets in the tournies. And How are cash games in Reno? Mainly 1/3 and 2/5. Would be staying at silver legacy most Likely and Ubering to peppermill.

Just played at Peppermill. About 10 0/2 NL tables and one 0/5 ongoing. Limit 3/6 as well.

The time rake is $5/30min and they take a 10% rake (max $2) towards the jackpot. Effectively that’s a $2 rake most likely?

Incredibly enough there is lots of action with players betting $10/$12 into the $2 BB. There were also random $15/$20 straddles. Lots of the players seemed to be locals and knew all the dealers.

The average stack size was about $300 and some had well over $1000.

One big blind so 0/2 is one two dollar big blind.

The game at Silver Legacy is 1/3 NL with 10% max $4 rake. Seems much more sensible than the peppermill game. Lots of action and big stacks as well.

Why did Peppermill change to 1 blind games? What’s the business reason?

Maybe you missed it, but about three and a half years ago there was this thing called "covid."

That's a reason for changing the game structure?

Tables were 6-max with plexiglass partitions. In a short game, the blinds come around every three or four hands. Management took the small blind out and implemented a time charge to replace the rake. It was all about making short-handed play palatable for the nitty local regs.

Okay but COVID is over so do you know why it hasn’t changed back?

To put you, ChipsOmNom, on tilt, of course.

Anyone know who are the odds providers for the Peppermill and Atlantis sportsbooks? Do they have kiosks?

Also how many casinos in Reno have poker?

Pandemic is over. COVID will never go away as it is now endemic. Otoh as many predicted the virus has mutated to a much less dangerous form. Generally now is an upper respiratory infection. For vast majority it presents as a bad head cold.

So yes COVID as a rationalization for single blind games is over.

They don't still have 6 handed games, do they?

If not, it is odd that they wouldn't have gone back to two blind games, which have to be better for action.

Peppermill is spreading a 1/2 dealer choice mixed game on Monday at 4pm. The hostess didn't know many details but it looks like the same menu of games the old Atlantis game used to have.
