I feel like the SL room would have more success if they spread NL 1/2 instead for 1/3

I know we are supposed to be talking about poker, but where can I play single deck blackjack in Reno?

And is Brad Booth still hanging around the Peppermill?

Any one else find it perplexing/annoying that after 3 years with no local tournament series, Peppermill announces their Poker Palooza from 10/21/22-10/31/22 and three weeks later WSOP announces the circuit is coming back to Harvey's SLT the same 10 days. WTF? Is one of them going to reschedule?

I'm considering moving to this area, and I'm not a big fan of hold'em. Are there PLO games running all the time? Some of the time? Any specifics would be much appreciated, like which casinos and when/which stakes PLO games run.

Thanks so much!

Very rare. Sometimes at the Peppermill. Weekends.

There are quite a few other good reasons to move to this area, though.

There are quite a few locations that still deal single deck. "Reno single deck rules" allow doubling only on hard 10 or 11, though. Try Atlantis--they used to have several such games at $5 minimums. Probably $10 now.

The Ininja Poker Series is coming back to the Atlantis from Aug 18-28. Will be nice to have a poker series back in town. Its annoying that the Peppermill Palooza and the WSOPC Tahoe is going on at the same time. Hopefully they change one of those dates. Finally poker is coming back to Reno.

Peppermill has a game a few days a week. Single 5 dollar blind. Starts in the morning, never lasts until night. Mostly retired folks, mostly short stacks. On the positive side, cheap rake.

Ininja poker series starts on Thursday at the Atlantis. Finally got some poker series back in Reno.

Correct, sorry. For like a week, it was offline but I see it back now.

I love Ben Deach, but does anyone think he is overpromoting the Peppermill? Do you think he gets paid to do so? It's a great room and all that, but it's almost like advertising in his vlogs.

When’s the last time he did a session at the Atlantis or anywhere else? I haven’t watched in a while but recall him occasionally playing at the Atlantis or making Vegas and other trips, even a few sessions at the SL. Really at the end of the day it’s the only one with consistent $3/$5 unless things have changed.

I'm going to be on vacation in Lake Tahoe this coming week.

I'm more worried about snowboarding and enjoying the local nightlife & cuisine, but I was thinking about playing for a couple hours at Harvey's.

Does anyone have any recommendations on the right night / time to look for a good game?

(Life is too short to sit down and play with a bunch of nitty bad regs when on vacation.)

Has anyone played with Ben Deach? Wondering if he’s any good.

I played with him briefly once at Peppermill. I didn't catch him making any of the obvious mistakes. The only hand in my notes that he showed down was A7s on the button that he had flat-called on the button after another player had flat-called an early-position open.

Single $3 blind, one dollar promotional drop on the flop, $5/half-hour time charge. From the structure, it ought to be the nittiest game on the planet, but the locals play as if Sklansky's "invisible antes" were in play.

Thanks. What’s the min/max buy in?

Can't remember the minimum. Maximum is match the stack in the room, meaning that if someone at another table has $2,000 in front of them, you can buy in for $2,000 even if everyone else at the table are bottom feeders playing short stacks.

Promo drop is now $2 in all Peppermill games. Time charge remains $5 per half.
