READ BEFORE POSTING! Venues and Communities Forum Guidelines READ BEFORE POSTING! Venues and Communities Forum Guidelines

Since the discussions of Venues and Regional Communities have been combined and moved to its own forum from being subforums of Casino and Cardroom poker, I have created this thread to consolidate the V&C forum guidelines under one thread. That said, the overall moderation philosophy and guidelines from CCP remain in place here in V&C. Before posting in V&C, please make sure you read through the CCP Forum Guidelines. That thread lays out the details of the guidelines all V&C posters are expected to follow.

But to summarize the V&C posting philosophy in one sentence, it is:

Just be nice and respectful in all your interactions with other posters and administrative personnel.

It's that simple. No matter how strongly you feel about a topic, or how vehemently you disagree with another poster's opinion, be nice and respectful in your tone and words. I feel very strongly that our forum is a place for people to come and share their thoughts on poker in a fun and welcoming environment. I do not buy into the notion that one needs a thick skin or "mental callouses" in order to engage in a discussion on the internet. While that is unfortunately the case on many sites, it will not be permitted here.

So make sure you read through the CCP Forum Guidelines thread before posting here. Now, a couple of V&C specific guidelines.

If you want to start a new thread about a specific live poker venue, please use the following nomenclature:

Official Name (City, State) Add country if outside of the United States.

If a thread contains an FAQ, it will give the date the FAQ was added or last updated. The FAQ will be attached to the first post in the thread. If you would like to make an FAQ for your local room or rooms, please PM a moderator.

The purpose of the regional threads is to build community among players who play in the same general geographical regions. When starting a regional thread, please be as descriptive as possible with which geographic regions you'd like to include in your thread. Please also include any particular purpose for your thread if you have one in mind, e.g., SE PA/DE/NJ MSLHE, if you're trying to start mid-stakes limit hold'em games at Parx, Delaware Park, Borgata, etc.

But of course you're welcome to start threads for geographic areas generally as well, e.g., New England (Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, North Shore, etc.).

If you have any questions about starting a thread, feel free to contact a mod before posting.

I hope you will enjoy our discussions here in V&C and will share your own experiences and ideas with our group.
