Just got done reading the Presque Isle Poker Website, and had to laugh.

They got 34 players for the $500, and 51 players for the $100 tournament with MoneyMaker. They said it was a great success.

Funny considering the MoneyMaker promotion 2 months prior was a sellout at 90 players for both events. WHY?
I have to believe that most people decided the structure was bad, and decided not to make the trip. As that was the reason why I didn't go.

Just like "The Meadows", these poker rooms really just don't understand how to run a tournament.

Nice, I have been to a few of their games and it is some great hockey! I grew up playing hockey and played juniors as well and what a lifestyle it is! If your around town PM me we can grab a drink or talk poker or something. There's also a poker room 40 mins the other way from Jamestown (Salamanca) so you got a couple options to play cards.

They won't get more than 9 tables for sure.

Anyone play up here since Cleveland opened up? I would imagine the action took a big hit, but was curious as to how big.

I went on Friday. Even with the 80 minute drive from Lake County, I was probably playing faster than I would have at the Horseshoe Cleveland, with a 30 minute drive, and who knows how long of a wait. I called ahead and was seated immediately. Only five of the nine tables were running, so it does appear that things have slowed down as a result of the Horseshoe Cleveland opening. The table was pretty soft, with a bunch of regulars limping in and 7 players often seeing the flop. Until some things change in Cleveland, I think I will keep making the drive to Erie for the immediate seating, competent staff, 1-3 blinds, $5+1 rake and $1/hr. comps.

Presque Isle Downs poker room is not going anywhere, will be here even after the bad beat does eventually get hit. BBJ is over $250,000 now, 1/3 NL spread mostly with an occasional 2/4 Limit game. The 1st and 3rd Friday of each month there is a $100+20+5 deep stack tourny, which has had 50 players each time. There is also a $200+25+5 this saturday at 3:30PM.

GL everyone!

Can anyone explain how the player's club card works for poker? The first few times I visited Presque Isle, the line to sign up was extremely long. But, eventually they offered to get me signed up right in the poker room.

Four or five sessions later, I stopped by the first-floor desk on my way out and asked to check my points. They said I had zero, but I should check back later in case the points had not "updated" yet.

This week, I put in another five hours or so, and tried again to check my points. This time, the person at the desk said that you don't earn any points for poker, only comps. I asked if I had earned any comps, and she said she couldn't tell me. "So it's a secret?" I asked. "Yes."

What is the point (if any) of using the card for poker? What is going on here??

It was $1 per hour. I don't know if it's still the same or not. I personally have never used my comps though, so I can't be any help on how to do that. A friend of mine has told me he has used them for food and valet parking, but I don't know how you do it.

I asked my friend how he uses these comps. He said when you go to pay for something, like valet or food, just give them your card. They will swipe it and tell you how much is on it. You can then use it for whatever it is you're buying.

How many tables has this place been getting? I stopped in there a few months ago and there were only 2 tables going and one broke pretty quickly after I got there. This was on a Friday night about 11pm. Has action picked up at all or is this still kind of a locals only game with a couple tables?

last night they had 52 for the $125 Friday Deepstack and still had 4 1/3NL cash games going.

I'm hoping for a better turn out for this Super Saturday,($230) march 30th, now that it doesn't follow immediately after the Friday Deepstack.

yes thank you for your reply I don't know how I missed it the first time! sounds pretty solid for where the room is located and how much competition it has around it now. I'll be in there in the next time I'm up around that way or find a good excuse to drive the hour plus.
