Would anyone be interested in trying to get a 4/8ish mixed game goin sometime?

Sure, but unlike the Horseshoe, Potowatomi can't spread stud games.

I have frequently played in the PLO game whenever I happen to find myself in Milwaukee. I have rarely if NEVER seen any of the regulars soft-play one another. If anything the opposite seems to be true: the regs (almost all wealthy men from endeavors off the felt) try and make crafty and aggressive plays to one-up their frequent opponents.

So my guess is you didn't fair very well in the game and are simply making excuses...

They can spread both stud and stud8, but are not allowed to spread razz.
They have spread 30-60 hose and stud-8 for me and others interested on multiple occasions

Really? That's not what Rita (dealer and sometimes floor supervisor) told me. She said no stud at all, when I asked for a HORSE list.

This doesn't surprise me given how incompetent the majority of the floor is. I was told that at some point too but when they checked with the manager he said they could.

Hows the Keeper of the Fire tourney going?

I played over 1000 hours in that room in '05 and they had a 1-5 stud back then. They also tried to get a weekly stud/8 game.

2/4 LHE and 3/6 LHE with kill. Finding anything else would be a shock to me, though there might be some high limit feature game I've never paid attention to. Try calling the Pot before you go and see what they have running.

Can someone here fill me in on the details of this room ?

I'm assuming the room is 24/7?

I have heard the 1/2nl game is 8$ rake, correct still? If this is so, how is the rake at the 2/5nl (or is it 3/5) game?

How often does the 2/5nl game run? Is there multiple tables of it? How is the competition?

Also, I have heard the room smells, is this still so? Also, is it a non-smoking room?

Runs 24/7. $1-$2 is still $8 rake. Rake for $3-$5 is $5.

The competition varies at 3/5. Many regulars sit at the table. Some are are tight, some are lose, some are good and some are bad. Overall, I've felt very confident in the game and tend to pick up a good read on people. I have either played with them a few times before, or I just see how they play and adjust accordingly.

The room doesn't smell. It is non-smoking.

How is the action on a Monday-Thursday night? Friday-Sunday night? (3/5NL+ wise, no use playing the 1/2 game)? Day games? 3/5nl runs 24/7?

Action Monday-Thursday varies depending on drawings and such. During the football season they give at least $100 everytime someone scores on Monday Night Football.

I believe on Tuesdays now, they give away $100 an hour on the hour for 12 hours.

The $3/$5 NL game always has 2,3, and sometimes 4 tables going til at least midnight. Mostly 2 after midnight til people get tired.

1/2 game is actually 1/1/2. I have never played it there. I go to the casino to play a little higher stakes. I can play a 1/2 game near my place a couple times a week. The action is very good at the 3/5 game on the weekends especially. Day time there is at least 1 3/5 table going and late morning/early afternoon a 2nd one starts up.

3/5 is ALWAYS going. The fall and winter months tend to be pretty busy.

Usually not the best, unless the Brewers are playing at home. Really really depends though. There are certain regs that generate so much action, while others are just nits. Regardless, the regs aren't that good. Games run 24/7. I think there are always 3 tables going minimum unless its like 3am on a Monday.

So a Sunday night after a Brewer's game (that I'm going to) should be good?

Late on a Sunday night? Eh, don't know if that will translate into the same kind of traffic you'd get after a Saturday night Brewers game or a concert at the Northern Lights theater (post-concert poker action is very underrated, IMO).

Brewers.com shows it as a 1 PM game. You should get SOME extra traffic from IL, but not like you'd get if either team was contending. Let us know how it turns out, though. Good luck.

The softplay allegations are ultra-ridiculous. Not that there's none of it ever, but the idea that there are 5+ players who softplay each other is a joke. I agree that some regs aren't very friendly towards non-regs.

You posted that players softplay each other even with the nuts. I would like to hear an example, because I suspect you may just not realize that "the nuts," needs to be treated with caution sometimes when you are 1000bbs deep in PLO.

Here's a recent example: a player has the nut flush and top set, and checks it from the flop to the river with his buddy. Another time a player did not bet with quads while acting last heads up on the river because "I don't want to take his money," referring to another bud. I could go on and on with examples. Just play some Friday afternoon and you'll see what I mean.

OK---countdown at T-4 days to Sunday night.

And Big Orange-seeing regs soft play each other is a gift from heaven.
