Yeah the original plan was the Irish festival. Then the storm invoked Plan B, which was poker. Now I'm onto Plan C, which is just 'Drink Beer' (being the non-location-specific backbone of both Plan A and Plan B).

You really have to call in an hour+ in advance. The room is just too reg heavy so just about everyone knows to call in advance to save their seat. If I do that, I've found that the longer it takes to get into the game the better usually it is when I get there.

Action was not great. 3 tables eventually going, but like 6 people left the other two to get into "the good game" that I was playing. That at least had some money on it, although a lot got taken off the table. So many of the regs are so withered and/or leave pretty quickly when they get a 1k+ stack.

The biggest bumhunter in the room tried to needle me into a fish, but went back to 1/3 when it didn't work. I tend to be a passive tilter or quit pretty quickly. Anyone want to hear a bumhunter story from this guy?

23 year old UW kid, are you out there?

This guy was in the main game 1-2-5 PLO. The main game had gotten bad but the must move was still juicy. Bumhunter switched seats into my 2/5 game and tried to get his name on the list like a callin so he could be at the top for the must move when his 2 hours expired. They wouldn't let him do that. He bought in for $1k that he had no intention of pushing around to try to switch all 1k into the $500 cap game. Finally, he talked to one of his friends playing the must move PLO game and tried to convince him to switch seats. That one actually worked.

Moving to Milwaukee in a couple weeks.

Do they have any weekly tournaments there? Looking at the list right now for 1/3, there are 23 waiting. How long on average would I have to wait for a spot with 23 on the list? Are there other rooms in the state that are good? It's been 8 years since I've played in WI. Is it true you have to pay for non-alcoholic drinks?

Would my best play be to just pretend the casino doesn't exist?

I don't play the tournaments but I think they have a daily Saturday and Sunday and a nightly Mon-Thurs. If you call in about an hour and a half before you get there you probably won't have to wait at all. The max is two hours; I've never missed it and I'm not sure how lenient they are if you come wait a bit more than 2 hours to show up. You do have to pay for beers and I think they're pretty expensive. No other good rooms; It's pretty much a monopoly. Some might argue Ho Chunk but I hear the average wait at $1/2 is much longer.

Pretty much this. If I you want to play, you have to put up with it or make the two hour drive elsewhere. Vegas, it most certainly is not.

$50/$100 limit game looking to run on Thu, Aug 27 - call to get on list.

$2/4 limit will no longer be offered after the end of the month.

^ That's interesting, someone in a LVLifestyle thread wanted $1-2 and $1-3 to no longer be spread anywhere and someone countered by saying just wait until people stop playing, they'll naturally die out, although the low stakes limit will die way before low stakes nl.

Can Seats to mspt be transferred? If so, I'll buy one for a grand!

If he just made a Facebook page saying he wants to get staked for a mtt he'd have the $1100 in minutes.

And why is he asking for $1500?

He did. And he isn't getting any donations, just one family member. Said person is me. The extra money covers the rewards costs.

Man. I just looked at the structure for the satellite to mspt. 300/600, 500/1000, 800/1600. That's unfortunate.

Yes, and you can use the $250s you win towards the main buy in. If I would have known that I wouldnt have sold mine last time.

The list ends up looking ridiculous because people can call 2-hours ahead of time, but when you actually show up there's usually less than 10 waiting at even the busiest points. So the list is deceiving as it's much shorter in effect.

I play poker mainly in Michigan and believe me if I was single I would find a way to play Milwaukee at least one weekend a month. I have only played there 3 times and found the 1/2 very easy to read and PLO and 2/5 NLHE games good as well. I agree with others that you need to know how to work the room for the soft spots, but it will be better than driving through Chicago to get to Hammond, IN or Joliet, IL for the other games I like outside of Michigan in that direction.

I even took the high speed boat that crosses Lake Michigan one time and just taxied to and from the boat launch to/from casino. Lucky to have a friend to crash with in town since casino hotel is way over priced but ... GL

sell/transfer yes .. vouchers can also be combined. Say you 'won' a bunch of $60 super sats, you can then combine them and go straight to the main without playing any of the $240 regular sats.

I know a guy who just plays sats (super and reg) and cash, just sells his vouchers and plays cash the rest of the time when traveling to these events (MSPT, HPT, WSOPC). For him, it beats the ME tourny min-cash every time. Of course you can't hit the 'jackpot' when playing cash, but to each his own. GL
