Does anyone have info on the poker club in Eugene? I emailed them but have not gotten a response. I am looking for info on 2 5 or higher.

I haven't been able to find a place to play 2-5. It's unfortunate, I don't think anyone would be violating social gaming laws by having a shootout with higher buy-ins and blinds, but frankly given the low amount of action these rooms have in their cash shootouts, I think spreading these games might cause them to lose clientele. It really is a shame because even though the stakes would be small, the ability to walk somewhere I can play, saving at least an hour's commute and gas money everyday would keep me playing games in Portland. Just can't do it in the current environment, not enough money there.

Full House Poker in downtown Eugene might have 2/5 but it's doubtful. Probably highest game you'll see is the omaha game at international.

Bigger games in Bend at Rivals Sports Bar.
$2/5 ($200-min, no-max) NLHE on Mondays and Fridays.
$5 ($100-min, no-max) PLO8 on all days other than Tuesdays. The big days being Mondays and Wednesdays.

*In the 2/5 game there is a "Mandatory Straddle" if someone chooses to straddle for the round, it becomes a 2/5/10 game for that round.

**On M/W in the PLO8 game, it plays more like a 5/10 than a 2/5 with the stacks and buy-ins. The other days, it plays smaller.

***7-days a week, there is a 1/2 NLHE game going for some smaller action.

GL with this. I'm not sure if the new Oak Tree in Woodland is planning on having spread games, but you might try to hold it there if you can't get it off the ground at Last Frontier.

Not yet. They've barely just opened, and I've been out of town. A friend of mine deals there, though, and I've heard promising rumors through him -- apparently it's a nice room, and they're looking to spread some Omaha and bigger hold 'em games, though that's all talk unless we can get a player pool together.

Full Disclosure: I am a dealer at the Oak Tree

Spread Limit and Omaha are going almost every day. Also next weekend is the "Grand Opening" and at least for a while all "Red Chip" games (10/20 and higher) have a max $2 rake.

During the Grand Opening I think we are giving away $21k in free money just for being there.

If there is a limit you want to play they will put it on the board and try to start it.

We have had interest lists but I don't think a game has started. We would spread one if we could though. Thursday would likely be your best bet as the morning tournament is PLO on Thursdays. Per Washington state law it would be a form of spread limit in a cash game but management (and myself) have no objections to spreading any game players are interested in playing.

I am trying not to sound like just an advertiser or shill for where I work but if you have any requests for tournaments, or promotions feel free to PM me and I will pass them along to management.

Starting next Tuesday, Aces will begin to spread a 2/5 NL shootout game. Buyins can be either $200, $300, $400, OR $500. The first one will start at 12:30 pm. It would be nice to have a strong opening day, to show the club and owners that there is interest in the bigger game. Lets make the magic happen and make it an EVERY day event.

And for those of you who haven't played an Aces shootout, Its essentially a timed cash game. They run in 90 minute sessions, and you cash out at the end of each one. They start at 12:30, 2:30, 4:30, 6:30, 8:30, and 10:30 every day. The timed sessions make it more like a tournament, that way we are aloud to run them legally in our clubs. On the other hand, there is NO RAKE. There aren't many places to play a 2/5 NL game without any rake.
"EVERY day" seems a bit ambitious, but who knows

yeah I think they should shoot for 1-2x a week to keep a sustainable game. People will go broke too quick if it's every day 2-5 imo.

Looking for a nl or spread limit game that will be going tonight (Friday) within 45 of Portland. When I lived in Vancouver a few years ago the Last Frontier used to get a $5-$40 game on Fridays but it doesn't look like they spread that game anymore. Are the spread games at Oak Tree running every Friday night?

No need to go so far. Just go to Rialto at 4th @ Alder. 1/2 NL with a $200 max buy in. Juicy.

I've read through this thread but there isn't much recent news.

I just moved to the Portland area and am curious about the local poker scene. I know the way the clubs work, with the daily fee instead of rake. However I haven't seen any updates about the cash game "tournaments" that some posts mentioned. Did these ever take off? If so where do the run with the most consistency?

Thanks all.
