Poker Rooms in Missoula, MT?

I'm headed to Missoula, MT in a couple weeks. Are there any good poker rooms/casinos there? It seems like there are a bunch of small places with a couple tables. Some seem to only run on the weekends? What are the gambling regulations for Montana in general? They all seem to be small with no real big establishments like Harrah's or Ameristar. Any help would be appreciated.

There are no real casinos but basically every bar will have a table. I lived there in the mid 2000s so my info is certainly dated. Stockman's bar had decent action, Silver tip too. Right before I moved a room opened that had two or three tables... I don't remember what it was called though. Find local legend fast Eddie for drinking adventures.

Are they all limit games?

When I lived in Montana there was a state mandated $300 cap on the pot. Most games were primarily "NL"Omaha but usually there was a choice between NLH and NLO for the player on the button.
More often than not several players will cap the pot each hand and just flip.

They now have 800 Cap. The best game to play is the Silvertip.

Can anyone help me with info on downtown Missoula poker? I am in town next week, but carless so it seems a trip to Silvertip isn't feasible. I'll be staying at DoubleTree Inn on 100 Madison St. so I'm looking for a decent game within about a mile's walk? Stockman still run a game? What about Press Box? Others?
Thank you.

They have a bus system that drops you off near the silvertip. Although I have walked many times from Silvertip to downtown. Stocks after 9ish is good, but it's going to play very slow.

Why does the Stockman's game play slow. Looks like my best bet since it is a half mile from my hotel.

The game is slow because everyone is drunk. I would say you get 10-15 hands per hour.

Oh, ha yes it does! I took that to mean it was tight on the original post. That was the game I played the two nights I was there and man was it juicy with the recreational drinkers.
