Does anyone know how to book with the Host Hotel? Their website is unresponsive.

Also do they still not police stack sizes during table changes? Was shocked when I was there that once you get called for table change and grab the new table chip, appeared to be nothing stopping someone from ratholing or adding onto their stack and just telling the new dealer that's what they had at the previous table.

No idea about Host hotel. And for the opening of the pg hotel; nobody knows, but i would guess its a MINIMUM of 6 months from now.

The rules at PG about a table change is that u must reset ur stake between the table limits. However if ur coming from a broken table , u must keep the same stack.

Really? I never knew this, and when I was there I would just take whatever I had and xfer with it. Nobody said anything and I figured I was doing as expected.

Here's 2 sessions from a vlogger who just played in the 5/10 game. Pretty much echos what I said a few pages back. Dont expect it to be as easy as USA's 5/10. The 2/5 and lower are still really good though.

Kinda makes sense since 5/10 is the biggest non private game at pg, while in the US you can get up to 25/50 public games.
You’ll get a good 5-10 once in awhile but its very hit or miss.

Thanks. I tried looking thru their website but I couldn't find the info. Is 2/5 still capped at 500?

Anyone here play or played in the semi private games? 10/25/50 NL and PLO games. I'm more interested in the PLO and wondering how "easy" it is to get a seat in it? Seems like it has been running a bit more lately, a few times a week sometime. Do they have a min max buy ins on those?

It's easy enough to get a seat if it isn't full and it's your first time, after that depends on how they like you, if you give action, play fast, aren't a robot etc. Min buy in is 1.5k max is 10k or half of what you're down

10% 11$ max at 1/2 and 1/3 (100-500buyin, new limit)

10% 14 max at 2-5 (200-1000 now) and 5/10

Used to be 5% 16 max (200-800)

The new rake is probly a good news for the 5-5 PLO ' players , cuz its usually played auto-straddle and most of the pots were allready raked to the max .....

i'd say break even for the 5-10 ....

Where it is catastrophic, its for the 2-5 players. It will almost double the avg rake per hand because ; i would say that 75% of the pots at 2-5 are smaller than 140$.

U raise 20 preflop , only bb defend , u c-bet , he fold; Profit is 22$ , but there is 4$ rake + 2$ bbj/promo + 1$ tip. So , its very bad for small pots, And the new max from 800 to 1000 wont change the avg size of pot significantly.

Pretty gross. As time goes on poker is going to be as unplayable in Canada as EU.

Really Excited regarding the upcoming WSOP-C and WPT Tournaments at the Club! Good to see these events back, it's been too long!
I'm hoping/assuming they will soon add some WSOP(Main Event) qualifying dates as well!!??

Is playground well equipped to host big turnout mtts? Do you think they will have to cap entries/use alternates? Or can you just show up morning of and get a seat?

It's a few hour drive for me so don't want to come if it's anything like the toronto series where entries were capped and you had to register ahead of time.

They should be able to handle these. They have the new room with run off available in the old area. They just ran a couple of WPT Global Events Recently, $1,500 & $1,100, buy ins with like 1,300 & 1,100 runners without any issues.

Very disappointed in this as a 2-5 player.

As expected the 2-5 is becoming a lot tougher to beat, many of the worst 2-5 players have migrated to 1-3.

On average the 2-5 will consist of 1-2 top regs, 5-6 nit regs, 1 fish. From my experience maybe 1 out of 6 tables is beatable with the new rake structure.

Good job playground

They are prob gonna slowly turn 1/2 into 1/3 like every other rat casino in canada. Playground cant even make the excuses other casinos can about property taxes etc since its on a reserve that is 90% open land.

Are you just being dramatic about 2/5 not being beatable though? Im seeing about the same number of 2/5 tables I always do.

There’s a lot of tables running yes but most of them are nit infested. Its still beatable , you just have to table select hardcore, once in awhile you’ll end up on a decent table.

Really sucks to hear this.

I loved the old 2/5 at playground. The size was great for me, and the action was good.

I am going this weekend, first time since these new changes, so we'll see.
