As for table changing, Pg allows players to take off from their stack if they change tables and also abide by the min-max buyin rule so if you had 2k on a 2-5 and switch to another one, you can only come in with 800 which is pretty dumb imo. There are also shortstack rats who double their stack from 200 to 400 and change tables right away to stack back down to 200.

They are using a must move system for the 5-10 and 5-5 plo to combat this. Im guessing theres too many tables at lower stakes so its harder to police it.

Was just curious because he missed the transportation between Angrignon and Châteauguay. That could be misleading for others, as it is another commute to go there.

I didnt try to recycle, it was pointed out to me that a certain player insta table switches when doubling up. Even if you wanted a table change for legit reasons they dont let you bring your entire stack unless its the max buyin or under.

Subway to Angrignon and take the 30 / 31 / 32 / 111 bus from Angrignon to chateauguay and playground is on the way there.

I arrived the day after it was hit and left 2 days ago. The room was at max 42 tables almost every day for a month it seemed... I was looking at the waitlists before I arrived. Action has died down since it hit.

5/10 had a bunch of euros with a lot of 3/4 betting pre. I didnt play it every day.

When is the new poker room opening?

Any day now, they will be opening the new Cigar, Shisha, Steakhouse, and Sushi restaurant at the beginning of December. The new poker floor will open shortly thereafter.

I haven't been since COVID. Are they still planning on having a hotel attached to the room? Or next to it. I remember hearing a lot of buzz about that but haven't heard anything since.

Not sure if anyone noticed but there’s a 1k 6max coming up and they’re raking 180$ lol so 180+ 820

Im assuming its because they want each table to make as much rake as a full table. Pretty disgusting, if anything the 6max should be lower rake than a FR tourney since its higher variance and finishes faster.

prolly cuz 6 max requires more dealers?

I visited playground on new years weekend for the first time. It is basically a full scale casino at this point with poker on the third floor. Room is nice, seems well run. Rake is absurdly high. I played 1/2 NL and the rake was 10% up to $10 with drops for BBJ and promo. The first table I was at was full of elderly people with 30bb stacks playing very tight. Did a table change and it was somewhat better. I will likely go back a time or two more but with rake like that, I hesitate to spend too much time at the tables there.

What are others thoughts of the games there?

Ive never came close to seeing the type of table you described. Rake is pretty bad but if you play at night having more people having free drinks make up for it. Food is good like Ive said before but the portions and menu selection has gotten slighly worse since the room move. Im a bit torn on the new room. Way lower ceiling makes the poker area feel more cramped. I dont know if theres more tables now but everything is closer together. Theres only poker on floor 3 so there are no slots players walking past poker anymore which is going to lose some new players overall. I hate the new back entrance, its like 5 minutes more to get to the poker area now. Overall the move seems slightly worse in a bunch of ways. Still the best place in Canada to play by a large margin.
