Damn. It's that soft?

Also I'm looking at the menu on the website, all that food is free? So I can go play 1/2 for 8 hours and get a free filet mignon half way through?

1/2 have their own menu which is basically a subset of the whole menu.
Decent options though imo.

Still that's hardly bad.

Has anyone been to the Motel Rustik? It's the only place to stay within walking distance and some reviews seem a bit unsavory.

Stayed there many times. Room is semi spacious, clean and the bed is decent.

The walls are really thin, and the outside seems really dirty.

People make it sound worse than it is. If just going there to play poker and sleep its perfect. The couple that runs it is really nice too.

Can you setup an account to deposit your money at the cage/do they have safe deposit boxes here?

Playground food is very good and free while you're playing, but it's very doubtful you can eat enough to overcome the insane rake on their cash games. Fine for tournament play though.

3 meals + 3-4 drinks is worth probably around 65-85$.

Rake is very beatable and the caliber at 1-2 ans 2-5 is very suspect.

Action is pretty good throughout the day, and there will be at least 10 tables and possibly quite a few more from around noon if not earlier.

Is food/drinks free if you only play tournaments?

Drinks are free for MTT, not food.

@mikelbyl
Do you know if they'll be showing the boxing event (Lemieux vs Saunders) on Saturday?

I'm pretty sure yes - this is the kind of thing that would always be shown. I'll ask to try and confirm.

What's the action generally like Mon-Thur for 2/5? Is there usually at least one table going at night, or multiple even? And any 2/5 action during afternoon usually?

Also, are the games pretty good, or is weekdays mainly just regulars?

Any insight greatly appreciated!

Hey redbluegreen - on weeknights there are almost always at least 3x 2-5 tables going and sometimes 4, 5, or more. Some of that depends on what PLO games are on, which takes from the 2-5 player population at least to some extent.

Generally there's at least 1 2-5 game practically around the clock, though sometimes the 5am-6am-7am timeframe is a little light. At least one and often multiple games get going before noon and growing through the evening.

Weekday evening action is always great. Daytime can often be regs, but our player population is wide enough now that there's usually a pretty good mix.

In my personal view, the regs don't live up to the standard they often set elsewhere of being real nits either, so even high-proportion reg games can be great.

When will structure sheets for the Millions event go up?

We're working on them now, so we're definitely (and this is our intention) ahead of the "6 weeks prior" timeframe that we normally try and adhere to - but all I can say is "as soon as possible".

Any specific questions that maybe I can help with right now?

Just a rough idea as to what the main will look like, when registration will be open until, what starting blinds will be (my eyebrows raise a bit when the website suggests that the tourney starts 100 bbs deep). Trying to figure out how many vacation days to plan for.

Just curious, Playground is no longer on Bravo? Is there another place to keep up with what is running?

Thanks mikelbyl for the detailed reply.

To see what's currently running, just go to PlaygroundPoker.com and it's on the right side if your screen.

EDIT: Sorry, that's PlaygroundPoker.ca, of course!
