Just curious as to why it was removed from bravo?

We no longer use Bravo as our table management software. We have a different system now, which feeds data to https://www.pokeratlas.com/poker-roo...oker-kahnawake

Hey Billy here is the Main Event sheet:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1M6...Ehgur2SRfsqfrq

All of them will be published on our website later today. Go straight here: https://www.playgroundpoker.ca/millions2018 and you'll find links by each event in the schedule.

100 bb starting stacks will be an adventure, I'll be curious about the feedback you get.

The structure sheet doesn't mention how the 8pm day 1 will be played on Friday-I assume the level length will be different and that should be called out, if not it shouldn't be listed as a turbo on the schedule.

The structure sheet defines day 1 as ending after level 8, so the starting blinds would be 15-35k on the Day 2s-the website has it listed as 20-40k on the main event flow chart.

Nice catch. Day 1E blinds will be 40 minutes in length. I've also added text about the Day 2 selection (you select your day 2 when you bag on Day 1, but availability may be limited). For the record, seats are being held on both Day 2s for Day 2 entries, and on Day 2B for Turbo flight players.

This will all be in the final published version.

Remember that we ran a very similar event to this in terms of structure last spring, so we already know the feedback was very very strong on that occasion - to the extent that the event won Event of the Year in the GPI American Poker Awards last week.

Our partners at partypoker are really pushing the envelope and one of the ways they do it is by doing everything they can to create value through the structure. This means a lot of unconventional things like Day 2 entry etc.

Quire frankly I was skeptical of that last year - but being on the floor every single day of the event and speaking with a ton of players, they loved it - pros and "recreational" players alike. My eyes were opened in a big way.

I don't disagree, I thought that event was great, and I love the single ante structure. That tourney started with 200 bbs though (it started at 2500-5000/5000 with 1 million chips) so this one at 100bbs will be interesting. I do think not carrying over stacks is a good idea for casual players, and I think that starting shallower but adding more levels (two 5-10k levels, 7-14k, 15-35k, etc) will result in a smooth amount of play but a lot of day 1 busts, which is obviously the goal in order to meet the guarantee. I'll just be curious to see how casual players react to the initial shallowness of the stack, or if they even notice.

You guys ran great events last year and I'm impressed that you're committed to figuring out ways to run the 2nd biggest North American event each year, which is a mantle some other places have punted on.

Other random side note: should dinner break be after levels 23 and 33 on days 3 and 4 if you're playing 9 levels on day 2?

This is correct, BTW, and has been changed on the structure sheets. Also added some text to clarify Day 2 entry/reentry.

Wondering what the positive feedback was. If anyone has experience playing with this blind structure, would love to hear.

3 hours into the event your starting stack is worth 71 blinds, compared to 150 blinds in a $5k WPT.

Obviously forces much more action, but doesn't it take away from the skill edge? When does it turn into a shove fest? How much post flop play is there - especially turns and rivers?

The positive feedback is pretty general in nature - every time we've run a tournament with partypoker using their structures it has been an amazing success and players have loved it, and the structure has been deep and solid all the way through to the end.

Yes, you still get free food at the 1/2 tables. The 2/5+ players get a slightly better menu, but the menu for 1/2 is still quite extensive (for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and the quality is excellent. Idk about the fights.

Hi Mikelbyl,

I have the following questions for you.

When will be your next $250+ CAD tournament (or better yet series)? Looking to fly from US Thurs-Sun trip and see Montreal.

Also, what is the best way (cheapest / best exchange rate) to acquire $2000-$3000 in CAD with USD? Do you accept wires?

Hey king -

We have the May Power Weekend coming up with doesn't exactly meet your criteria but does have a $100,000 guarantee on the Main Event, which is a $220 called the Playground 200...

https://www.playgroundpoker.ca/playg...ekend-may-2018

There will be a June Power Weekend as well, but those dates have yet to be finalized, and then there will be a major series that we'll be announcing in the next 10 days or so for the August/early Sept timeframe.

We'd love to have longer lead times, but the nature of big events with multiple sponsors and other partners is that it's extremely difficult to do things as far in advance as we would like.

Well, we had made an announcement about a piece of it already, but some re-shuffling of the schedule has had to be done to accommodate something even better. The original tourney that had been announced will still take place, but at a different time.

This is all related to the major announcement I referred to last night - I can't say more at this time, but I think you and the poker world at large will be pretty happy.

Hey uberkuber! Sorry I lost track of this question...

But The World Cup of Cards will return in 2019 - this summer, we have the WSOP-C Playground coming! 7 World Series Circuit Ring events, some of the WSOP fave formats like the Colossus, the Monster Stack, and the Closer, plus a $1,100 Main Event with a $2,000,000 guarantee!

See here for all of the info including structure sheets: https://www.playgroundpoker.ca/wsopc...ournament-2018

Mikelbyl, a question regarding your mega sats to the wsop-c main. When clicking on the main event itself it brings up the structure sheet but not for the main satties. Would it be possible to provide that info.

Starting stack
Levels & length
Late reg
Etc

Thanks.

Hey guys, not to clutter the thread, but me and some friends will be in the area for a bachelor party in a few weeks. Any bar/restaurant/strip club recommendations? I did a google search, but didn't realize how big of a city it was, any personal recommendations would be appreciated (feel free to shoot PM).

Cheers

Hi,

I'm going to Montreal for the WPT at the end of October and thinking of staying in city for a couple of weeks to grind the cash games. How are the games in November/December?
Is it feasible to rent an apartment via AirBnB in Montreal and take an Uber to and from the casino? How much should a 1 way trip cost? Any recommendations on where to stay in Montreal?

Someone else can provide a better response to this but, you can uber in from the airport or city, but you CANNOT uber out. Uber doesn't operate in kanawake so fares cannot originate there. You can cab it back to the city. In my experience, it's quite costly to cab back and forth if staying downtown area. $30-40+ 1 way.

You should check public transport. Pretty sure there is a bus that leaves in the west of Montreal to PG directly.

So take an airbnb near that bus stop if you dont mind being out of downtown Montreal.

What about renting a car for two weeks? Its pretty cheap. And if you are from US, our money is not worth anything for you.

Fwiw, I can be cold in that time. Prob not snowing but maybe below 0 during night... bring hot clothes !

Gl, see you there maybe
