How long does it take? I’ve never once played video poker, roulette, etc. The one time I had to pay for parking I just ate the $25 because I didn’t feel like missing time at the poker table figuring out the best way to use the free play $.

I'm not sure what kind of process you have to go through to get the freeplay onto your card. But playing 5 VP spins at $5 each will take two minutes or less even if you have to google a strategy chart.

Joe,

You shouldn't just be worried about one person. But when you see 4 or 5 people feeling the same way and that's 4 or 5 people when not many people have been to Philly Live yet to play. You might want to pay it a little mind.

I'm a little put off and I haven't played at your place yet, I probably didn't even take notice of the situation with the rake the first couple times it mentioned. I just check this thread once in a while to see if the current state of restrictions (mask, plexi) before I tried out your place.

I'll probably still check it out eventually, I know a lot of dealers/floor there now who I haven't seen in a while (I play a lot of poker). That being said, I'm extremely turned off by that you are taking $2 extra without even running any promos yet.

100% right. No one wants to spend time on ridiculous slots. This needs to be changed to fit the needs of poker players as well.

It is shitty, yes, but I recommend just winning larger pots

You're right. You can't change my mind. The fact that Live! wouldn't seed the promos and is just taking money while waiting for approval makes me not trust you.

I'm also curious how the state can allow you to do a promo drop with no approved promos, but that's on the state I guess.

Seriously dude, chill tf out.

When the Borgata opened back up after covid (another room you said you would never play in again because we have to manually load our comps to our cards), they were taking the drop before the promos started. I didn't love it, and as a serious player of course I prefer no drop anyway, and it turned out to be a good way to build the promo pot. But saying you don't trust them and accusing them of stealing your money is laughable. You're very quickly running out of rooms to play in!

I think he has a point.

Why would the state allow that? What if every room in the state just took $5+$2 without offering promos.

Joe why not address the question of if you aren't approved for promos why are you taking promo money

When a new casino opens, there are many processes that need to be set up as this is a highly regulated industry. Without getting into too many details, the state needs to approve the process for which you accumulate funds to provide promotions. This has been approved by the state for us. The second step is getting approval for the individual promotions that will run each month. This is the final approval we are waiting on.

I have not brought this up as it may not seem like much to players upset with the jackpot drop, but Live has been offering a Royal Flush promotion since the BBJ hit. That promotion was approved by the state immediately.

Please keep looking at Bravo Poker App as things are changing daily. I'm sure this complaint about our room will be resolved soon and hope that everyone will come check out all the Live! Poker Room has to offer.

Again, I want to re-iterate that 100% of funds collected will be returned to the players in the form of promotions starting soon. No money is kept by Live casino or its employees that has been collected for promotions. Thank you all for being patient with us.

Good stuff, Joe. Now about this parking nonsense: I'm sure it's bigger than the poker room, but what can you guys do to help out? For those of who play part-time at 5-6 hours a shot, accumulating 100 hours will take 18-20 sessions.

Honestly, you're going to lose out on business -- my business definitely -- if I have to pay $25 to park when stupid-ass baseball is playing here.

It it possible for you to confirm our hours (I'm at around 40 total) and just upgrade our cards when we come in? I'm happy to massage your feet if I must.

If you play 100 hours of poker you can upgrade your card to not have to pay for parking anymore? I always assumed card upgrades came from table games, not poker, but never something I bothered to look into. If that is true that would be great.

Also everyone worried about the promo drop, let’s play 5/10!

That's what I was told by the Live Rewards folks -- 100 hours of poker means a a card upgrade and therefore no more Phillies parking. Good lord, this pisses me off so much.

If it was Sixers, fine. But baseball!!! This boring ass excuse for a sport. Go grab your dick and spit somewhere else. And give me my $25 back, Bryce Harper!

I do wish there was more I could tell you about the parking situation. Unfortunately, at this time, if you are a Classic (red) card member, or non-member, the only available reimbursement is in Free Slot Play.

Like people have said, once you reach 100 hours of poker play, parking in the garage is free. We can print cards in the poker room, so as soon as you reach that mark, we will print you a card and you will no longer worry about the $25 parking fee.

This is a concern that has been expressed since we opened, and it is something that has been and will continue to be discussed, but at this time, there are not any other options available...Sorry!

If you’re primarily a poker player , I’m not sure what type of pull you expect to have in regards to the parking situation until you meet their prerequisite of minimum hours required unless you give them other action in the slot machines or table games. I think it’s a given that poker players don’t get the same benefits as slot players.

Thanks Joe! I hope I can check out the room soon.

Promos are up on Bravo now.

The parking fee on game days is a negative. I like VP so paying it back in slot $ isn't a huge deal for me right now, but if/when smoking is allowed in the casino it could be the reason I would choose not to play here. Is free parking for the day after a few hours of play in that day out of the question?

I'm hoping that smoking never returns to PA casinos! The charge for parking occurs up to 3 hours before a home Phillies game until about 1 hour after the start of the game. All other times parking is free. If you pay to park, there is no minimum play required to receive the slot play reimbursement.

This is 100% false.

Edit: What had me annoyed with Borgata was their lack of communication. At the time it wasn't known that you could go to the desk and get them. It was thought you had to wait months until they integrated their systems because they did such a bad job communicating that you could do that originally. Sugarhouse used to be the same way and it didn't stop me from going there and I've been to Borgata 4 times since they improved their communication.

Also, if you don't think it's wrong for them to do a promo drop with no promos or for them to force you to play slots instead of just reimbursing you for parking if you play, then you're one of the suckers PT Barnum was talking about.

To be fair about the parking during games, if they didn’t charge it then a lot of people would just park there for free and walk to the stadium and there would be no spots for casino customers (and they would b getting taken advantage of). I go to some eagles games and if it was free there why would you pay 40 to park at the stadium? Horseshoe in Baltimore is down the street from the ravens stadium and they do the same thing (free parking during the game only for higher cardholders). Of course it would be nice if they could give you reimbursement if you play a few hours or poker during that day but it sounds like a casino wide decision out of their control. The free slot play is basically a cash equivalent that takes about a minute to play through on a 25 cent slot machine. Your expectation playing it through once is probably to receive 23 or 24 back. Some days you will get 12 back, others 18, others 5, maybe you hit something and get 50 or whatever. But it is basically reimbursing you for parking unless you punt it off like the slot players who get it would.

Hi all ... I've been reading through my posts these past few weeks, and, man, I'm an a-hole. Just wanted to say I'm incredibly sorry to anyone I might have offended (I will post this in Parx forum as well).

This will be my last post, as I really need to work on being a better human.

Good luck everyone!

wolosz85 can you address this? I want to check out Live! but I am a trans person, and have absolutely no interest in spending time in a casino that employees transphobic dealers.

To add concrete questions: if a dealer is being transphobic, how will Live! address that?

I assure you, this issue was dealt with immediately. This forum is monitored daily and we take everything discussed here seriously. Hate of any sort is not tolerated by Live! Unfortunately, a lot of hate is hidden until an incident like this arises.

I cannot discuss internal discipline procedures with you for privacy reasons. Guests who display transphobic behaviors will not be tolerated in our Poker Room. I'm sorry that I cannot give detailed step by step procedures for these issues to be dealt with.

There are many welcoming employees and guests of all walks of life in the Live! Casino. I hope an incident talked about on this forum will not deter you from visiting us.

Wolosz85,

Can you provide any information regarding the availability of discounted and/or comped hotel rooms for poker players? And, related to that, if Philly Live currently or intends to match other casinos "gold" player cards?

I would love to check out the room. I typically play two 10 hour sessions Fri/Sat but need a room to sleep in. Borgata gives me comped rooms for that play.

Thanks!

Hi!

Currently, Live offers a 20% discount to poker players. Live offered a tier match program for months after we opened...unfortunately that promotion has ended for the time being. I'm not certain on plans to offer that promotion in the future.

I don't have a solid answer for you regarding level of play/comped rooms, but I can do my best to find that information for you. We look forward to having you visit!
